I think that the best solution is to flash stock images, see Development forum to keep the istructions

does that mean it will lock the bootloader and also let me do the official lollipop update????
if yes then please give the links....

You don't need to lock the bootloader, just flash the stock image and you will get the OTA (when it is available).

can you please please please send me the links to flash stock images..

if i just unroot the device using the unroot option in super su...........................will i receive the lollipop update OTA.(keeping the bootloader unlocked)

no matter ur bootloader is locked or unlocked YOU WILL receive OTAs from motorola do not worry about that
since you have an indian xt1033 ( same as mine ) and if you are curious to get OFFICIAL LOLLIPOP update
you can try the following guide all you need is a UNLOCKED bootloader to do this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/install-brazil-5-0-ota-xt1033-t2963800
all the best !
PS: I am currently running on this OTA there is NO bugs , lags or any sort of probs ( both sims are working fine )

Do you have unlocked bootloader?
then issue is known,
read instruction on sony's bootloader unlock website:
"For customers that have unlocked the boot loader, please do not accept any over the air upgrades."
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
Best way is to flash latest version's ftf.

[Q] Can i do a OTA update?

Hey guys,
I have the Moto G and i unlocked te bootloader, did an custom recovery and rooted the device and i had a custom rom. But i got back to stock with this GUIDE and i got no rooted device and no custom recovery but i still have the unlocked bootloader, i also have a other stock image of the moto then normally! (I have the 210.12.32.falcon_umts.Retail.en.US version) and i need the global gsm version xt1032 if i am right. But my question is, can i get ota updates now? because i want android L!
Thanks already.

Sorry for bad english
Your warranty is just invalid but you'll be able to perform an ota update. If you have doubts flash a stock 4.4.2 firmware and update it via ota, I'm sure you'll be able to do it. You'll enjoy Andoid L, don't worry

Having an unlocked bootloader has no adverse effect on the ability to update via OTA. You can even be rooted, although, you will more than likely lose root upon updating, which shouldn't be too difficult to get back. The only things that would affect updating via OTA is if you have a custom recovery, or if you've modified/deleted any system files/apps.

Just download the respective firmware and flash it via Flashtool.
You won't lose the drm keys.

1. So no problem if 4.4.4 (.93) is rooted?
2. If it's OK. Any chance to root Lollipop like i rooted
.93? (Giefroot method)
Thanks
No you can't root 5.0.2 with that method.
If you want to retain root, the only way is to flash pre-rooted zip via NUT's dual recovery.
I must unlock the bootloader to do that?
No you do not.
But you must ask questions in the question and answer section.

Can i update to MM via OTA on rooted G3 with unlocked bootloader?

HI there !
I am using XT1541 ( 1gb ram edition ) . Its rooted with unlocked bootloader and twrp recovery. When i get OTA , will it work or just cause a boot loop? I am thinking about flashing stock rom using adb but my phone was carried locked ( Tesco mobiles UK ) . its unlocked now. So, do i need to flash tesco mobiles stock rom or i can flash XT1541 retail great Britain rom ??? Because i don't want it to be carried locked after i flash stock rom using adb

Unlocking your bootloader does not affect your eligibility for OTA
https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_answer_detail/a_id/91999/p/1449,8620
What does affect your OTA eligibility is your root and the custom recovery. First unroot using super su app and then flash stock recovery.
Am I right in assuming you are on stock ROM?

Unlocked bootloader is no problem for ota, flash twrp backup for stock rom when you first enter twrp( if you take back up ) and reboot, then flash stock recovery via fastboot ,then you can unroot and get ota without problem, refer this in xda. Otherwise Flash stock firmware and get ota.
You can update to 6.0 with an unlocked bootloader, but you can't update to 6.0 with a rooted device. Fastboot your stock ROM and then take the OTA. No need to relock the bootloader.

How to flash android 6.0 ota? I am on cm12.1 now.

I am on cm12.1 right now and i have android 6.0 ota.. i cannot flash ota directly. I first have to go on stock firmware but i dont know the perfect steps.. unrooting, locking bootloader, etc. Indian verision 2gb variant xt1550.
Please see my tutorial to relock bootloader and flash stock firmware from here.

FYI... relocking the bootloader is not relevant, just having stock software image in /system /boot and /recovery is. Motorola has said themselves that the bootloader being unlocked (only) will not effect the ability to receive and use OTA's.
