There's no such thing as the most stable ROM/kernel. All that's going to happen here is 100 people reply with 100 different opinions on which is the best. There's a thread here which discusses what you're asking.

Hello,
I am new to this site, and new to this thing, but I am interested to update my HTC one V with some custom ROM (jellybean or higher) and I wanna know some info about which one is the most stable and popular one, with no bugs or trivial bugs.. It is frustrating because they are plenty of ROMs and kernels here.. and what is the difference between AOSP and AOKP version? somewhere I read that aokp is less stable but better... I actually want features included RAM and CPU clocking, because this is the coolest thing in these custom ROMs.. :cyclops:
- I have HTC one V (GSM) rooted and bootloader unlocked
- I have CWM recovery 6.0.3.3 installed
- I have official android v4.0.3
so which ROM you guys prefer to me and which kernel that goes along? and is my CWM version ok or I need other one?.. I really want to get more of this phone than I am getting now.. it's a really nice phone but it's a bit lazy when operating tasks, so it's not for impatient users
I am new to this, but I somehow succeeded to root my V, thanks for detailed instructions on this site, so thanks to you guys ..now I just have to update my ROM, and I will be more than happy

First you have to Unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery, root phone
Then you are able to flash any custom roms

Make a back up of your original ROM. Any other ROM for this tablet are dead or left on BETA. The marshmallow beta sucks, the lollipop rom is abandoned .. The ROM i posted is the latest KITKAT from Samsung and it works awesomely. If you install the Kernel its going to be even more butter smooth. Make sure you install the ROM , boot into the device, then you can reboot to the recover and install the wifi and kernel zips or else youll get a FC on menus. Good luck .

I'll check it out, so far I have not installed anything, just waiting, there is no rush, maybe over the weekend, I'll give one of the Roms a go.
I did look at that Rom a week ago, and was not able to find the links for the Rom, and does not seem that the Dev is responding, if you have links to the Rom and Gapps, that would be great,
EDIT: was able to find a link from one of the members

I will check this out also when I get back in town, so far I'm leaning towards BlissPop and STab, I don't really need the Samsung stuff, all I want is an updated version, with less crap on the Tablet, for what I use it for only.
I have a few days working on a port redmi build the three as they have a similar hardware but I can not make it boot , if you can help me,the base is cm12.1.
Miui v8 for test CM12.1 BASE (No boots...):https://goo.gl/0aEIqK

6.6.6.10 Firmware are needed
Miui v8 for test Stock Miuiv7 BASE (Not tested for me..):https://goo.gl/CA5xCx
Newest mi4i firmware will be installed when installing the build...
Sorry for my bad English
To be honest
Most custom rom here(based on aosp)using 6.6.10 firmware ..
Take a look at yureka thread, they do the same,a dirty build ....,maybe u can use it as base
What is the reason to update just a launcher (frankly speaking MiUI for me is just well designed android launcher) and left an old android 5? Let's just wait for stable ROM from Xiaomi and pray for getting MM.
BTW thanks for the job done ?
Anyone tried it is it boot ?

As OP mentioned its not booting.
dont waste time with this.. they wil probably release a stable build, everyone is going bezerk as there is no dev rom, but they had discontinued dev rom bfr miui8 even released! so chances of getting a stable build is still pretty decent! so no point in doing this

Thanks for being so polite.
And It's a development section, he is trying and taking help from other developers. He is NOT here to answer your queries.
Let him cook first, buddy.
Global miui 8 release date is 30 june. Hopefully we will have the developer rom for our device. No need to worry:fingers-crossed:
I have just updated my device (redmi 3s) to miui 9.6.1.0 (MALMIFD) Stable offiial
after update....
( I have unlocked bootloader and flash TWRP3.1.1)
Now i want to install custom ROM
I just want to ask, can i install any ROM (For miui 9.6.1.0 ). OR only a few OR no roms are available for me. Because i have heard that downgrading OS is unstable (and i dont know whether i am downgrading or upgrading system) I mean I am confused and afraid that i can brick my phone( and also it is been almost 4 years ago since i used to have been playing with custom ROMs. Please guide
Thanks.

The point of downgrading is with android 8.1 and your device still runs on 6.0
So no issue with it.
Just download and rom and appropriate gapps with it and you are done.
Please post these types of threads in guides and news area from next time.
Peace.
