Hi guys, I read that the RomCleaner doesn't include the support for AOSP Roms....
May I know if there is any way to have RomCleaner work for removing apps in AOSP Roms?
(Tried the HTC One X CM_AOSP.txt, changed it into ROMCleaner_user.txt, but it doesn't seem to be working )
Your help is much appreciated

There is more technical explanation to this, but the easiest way to find out is to use root and root explorer and in your phone's /system/app normally you have the .apk and coresponding .odex to every application inside your phone. Deodexed rom (mostly Custom Rom) don't have .odex files.
Deodexed is like decompiling the application (java..etc.) and recompiling it at the same time so that the apps will work even without the .odex file. Once your rom is deodexed you can modify the look of your phone, like adding custom theme for example. this is AFAIK.
If you have a stock rom (original or update), it's not deodexed, unless it is indicated when you downloaded it.
What is the purpose of the .odex files?

I know very little but .odex files have something to do with dalvic cache.
This is the reason deoxed roms takes longer time to boot for the first time than odexed rom because they need to create dalvic cache for each app however odexed rom don't.
My knowledge is very little so I might be wrong.

Odex ROMs have their main files moved to another area for faster booting while when you deodex the ROM these files are compiled back inside the APK....
To know weather your phone is Deodexed or Odex, just open Root Explorer app and navigate to "/system/app" and check if there files with ".odex" extension....
If yes then your ROM is Odex
Otherwise, your ROM is Deodexed....
The benefits of having a Odex ROM :
1. More space in "/data" partition.
2. First boot is faster.
The benefits of having a Deodex ROM :
1. You can customize the ROM the way you want without worrying about odexes....
thanks mate nice info

I'm now on SVA ROM not alliance ROM. I like his ROM but hate AVA theme. So I wanted to switch back to Stock look. That's why I asked those two files.
In SVA SystemUI is in /system/app/ . I just create a CWM file to copy these two files to relevant folders. But after flashing it I got a bootloop. Actually what I noticed is, Framework-res you provide and he provide are different. That's why I asked that question.
I'm actually not a ROM or MODs dev. So I might did some mistakes when flashing.
Actually I'm not 100% satisfied with current situation as well because even I got the stock look but now S Pen is not working ( S Pen is kind of getting stuck ). I don't know WHY

I didn't flash mod with more toggles. I've only themed one. He has changed almost all colors in SystemUI
I think you could ask in his thread for stock theme as to theme his rom he might do change some files not only 1 or 2 of them
I do not use SVA rom but believe he has the option for choosing theme in the last release

New updateVanilla rootbox zip Available Now
Hi Guyz..
Today when i woke up and read my msgs those green similes were quite annoying me ..... so i decided to change them and i did change them..
For those people who dose not like android similes can do this..
Its quite easy and noob friendly... so here we go
1 MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP... GO TO RECOVERY FOR THIS
2 EXTRACT THESE 2 APK FROM THE ROM ZIP
For CyanogenMod users
system\app\mms.apk
system\framework\framework_res.apk
For Sense users
copy only
system\framework\framework_res.apk
These apks can also be get using any root explorer if you dont have ROM zip.
same destinations.. For example using Es File Explorer or Solid Explorer
3.After that extract the sense5.rar file that i have given to u.somewhere safe wher you can find that
4.Open your Rom files one by one lets start with Framework_res using winrar on pc
Now where to go?
res\drawable-mdpi\
Drag all the emotions from the folder that you have extracted from sense 5.rar these are all emotions you could see it and drop it in apk file that you have open at one side like shown in image one
5. Thats it now close the apk file
6 same with the mms apk
7 Now how to push it if you dont know how to use ADB
8 Download the zip named as flash
9 Open it using winrar
10 If uou want to flash mms then put it in sytem\app
And if you want to flash framework put it in system\framework and close the zip
Do not extract the zip
And compression level is normal dont change the settings just press on ok
11 Cyanogen user should Flash both files after editing and Sense users can flash framework only cuz mms.apk dosenot exist
12 For CM9 and cm 10.1 i have made a flashable zip just flash it and you are done NAMED as cm9 emo.zip for cm9 and cm10.1 for cm10.1 and cm10 for cm10 and xenon for xenon and rootbox for Vanilla Rootbox
AT THE END I DIDNT TEST IT ON SENSE BUT IT SHOULD WORK
And please be easy on me cuz this is my first tutorial
see guyz in this way you can also theme your rom like systemui.apk for statusbar
Might want to prefix the thread title with [Guide] so it doesn't look like you're asking how to.

The OP has not yet given us a flashable zip or files for cm10 .I think you misread the guide.the one that you've done is specific for phones running on the sense rom.. not cm10 .
As far as fixing the bootloop i think you should restore any previous nandroid backups through recovery or reflash the rom..

New Update emo for Vanilla Rootbox
hey Vanilla Rootbox user check this out sense 5 emo for your rom it looks great!!
Things you will need: 7ZIP (or other compression tool), An unzipped rom and Notepad++
1. Download the Mod or Theme you wish to add and open it with 7ZIP.
2. Drag all of the folders/files EXCEPT Meta-INF into your rom's folder (copy and replace all of the files that have the same name)
3. In your Mod/Theme, open the updater script with Notepad++ (located in META-INF/com/google/android)
4. Copy all of the text in the Mods updater script and then paste it at the bottom of your rom's updater scipt (they're both in the same location).
5. Save it.
6. Done
I hope this guide will help save some time and enhance your roms (Also, please make sure to ask permission for the work you use!) :good:

Hi dear X2 users. I developed a custom rom which is stock based.
Rom features:
I must say, I make this rom like an official Nokia Engineer. So I dont use any hard modifications. It doesnt include GAPPS and SuperSU.
My main goal was lighting and stability.
-deodexed
-insecured kernel
-busybox
-adblock hosts file
-removed nearly all preload apps except Microsoft's
-removed Nokia Store and its components
-transparent notification panel
-new boot and shutdown animations
-new build.prop
-new microsoft office apps (they are removable)
-replaced old here and mixradio with Google Play Store's
-cortana beta
-transparent homescreen app icons
-all apps icon colors changeable
-modified settings menu
-modified systemui and res-framework
-all default widgets are transparent
-replaced pink icons with purples
