I have an Allview P6 Life running Android 4.4.2 KitKat, and for a short time I had that music lockscreen with artwork and music control, but it dissapeared. I don't know why and when, I think a month ago, but I couldn't find any way to bring it back. Please help me, I really want it back. Thanks.

Hey guys,
Before I begin, I feel I have searched a fair bit around the Sensation forum and haven't found too much to help me solve this problem, so I am hoping that some devs or other advanced users might have a solution. This has been driving me nuts. I apologize if this has already been solved and I've missed the answer completely. If this is the case, please direct me to the appropriate thread and I'll be eternally grateful :victory:
I also apologize that this is a long read; I'm just trying to give as much info as possible.
Most of us know (and appreciate) the audio ducking feature on iOS, where the volume of music will lower for incoming notifications so that both the music and the notification are audible. I love the Android OS, but I really hate how on all the Sense ROMs I've used (stock 2.3.5, stock ICS, Sense 3-4.1) the stock HTC music app has the same issue --- incoming notifications totally cut off the music to play the notification sound, but the music is actually still playing even though it goes silent for a second or two.
I am also aware that on many AOSP/CM ROMs the Apollo or Google Music app does exactly what I want, and ducks the audio appropriately, making for a pleasing, smooth transition when the notification sound plays. Unfortunately, I love Sense and no matter how many times I try a different ROM I get annoyed with one thing or another and end up coming back. My current setup is in my sig - the only thing I am unhappy with is the audio ducking (or lack thereof). I tried PowerAmp on VIperS and even changing the notification settings didn't give me the result I wanted.
I did some Google-fu and found these links:
http://developer.android.com/training/managing-audio/audio-focus.html
http://developer.android.com/reference/android/Manifest.permission.html#MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS
So, it seems to me that the key difference between the AOSP music apps and the HTCMusic.apk must be in the audio handling. I am not a dev, so I don't know if this is system-wide or a just function of individual apps. From reading these links I get the impression that any app can use and modify the appropriate permissions, right? I am happy with the functionality of the HTC music app otherwise, so I would prefer to avoid recommendations for some other music player.
Is there not a way to modify a few lines of code and have the HTCMusic.apk use proper audio ducking behaviour? I am not a programming noob but I don't have any experience with Java/Android so any help is appreciated. Thanks very much, this is the only piece of puzzle preventing me from being 100% satisfied.
Bump...
Does anybody have an answer for this?

I'm in the exact same boat, bouncing between AOSP/Sense every other week. I'm guessing that unless HTC writes their app to support audio ducking, you only solution is to use an alternative player. The AOSP Music app or Google Play Music app works a treat for ducking, but if your custom rom supports volume keys media control on screen off, they are likely to work only with HTC music app
Hello everyone, I'm having a bit of an issue with almost every rom running 4.2.2 and newer. I have larger than average hands, and the tiny little notification drawer seems impossible to pull down consistently. I was running a 4.3 rom briefly and it had a wonderful functionality where I could use a 2 finger gesture, anywhere, that would pull down the notification drawer. But that rom had some video issues with netflix etc. so I've switched to a 4.4.2 rom (with a few other roms along the way).
My question is this: Is the gesture function a standard part of Android that I just can't seem to find, if so, where is it?
Or was it something baked into the rom? If it was part of the rom, is there an app or something I can install that will duplicate the functionality?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Hey.
Is there any posibility get back Kitkat lockscreen an dialer after Lollipop update?
Well it wouldn't be called Lollipop if it was still Kit Kat now would it?
Go back to a kit Kat rom. I thinks that's your only solution for now.

So I did, but that is really not a solution to the problem. I want to remove the heads up messages on the locks screen and replace this are with the security lock so that I do not have to swipe up to get to the pattern unlock/pin for the device.
I guess you can edit the lock screen applications in the rom, I am all up to it, but lacking the experience to know where to start.
I think what many are going to want is the features from the Kitkat lock screen (those of us who use it as a music player rather than wanting all those idiotic notifications) while using lollipop. About the only 2 features of the new lollipop lockscreen I like are that the camera is easier to get to and the flashlight. Other than that, I want the old one back. If someone made an app that would add these features back to the lock screen for lollipop users, it would be really popular on the Google Play store.
Hey Guys I hope I am not bothering anybody with this question but I would appreciat any help with my issue.
So i am using a Pantech Vega Iron with a Mokee Rom, based on CM11. I am experiencing a weird bug on my Lockscreen I am gonna attach some pictures.
I dont have any widgets on the Lockscreen so what is causing it to jump around while playing music. It looks like the cLock widget is interfering with the music widget/popup you name it. So the pictures are screenshots from a 5sec. long video so its constantly switching between the clock and the music widget.
Please help me ! :fingers-crossed:
Hi,
Asking in the thread you downloaded the rom from is your best choice. They're the experts.
Good luck! ?
To keep it short and simple:
A widget for Material Design & usability enthusiasts, that supports a wide variety of media players:
• Spotify
• YouTube Music
• VLC
• Google PlayMusic
• Amazon Music
• Simple Radio
• TuneIn Radio
• PowerAmp
• Yatse (Kodi Media Center Remote App)
• Stock Players (Samsung, Sony, MIUI, HTC, ...)
It has a couple of nice features in the full version, but the basic (free) version works just fine.
Get it on Google Play
Widgets and their API do feel to developers a bit like they were neglected by Google, so I'm glad for feedback about how it works on your device and with your launcher. Also I'm happy to read about which players you would like to see supported.
Since Spotify just removed the Widget from their official app a couple of days ago I feel the need to bump this thread If you're curious, give it a try. The app is out of Beta now and officially available in v1.2
I really loved using this and it worked so well. Unfortunately it recently stopped working with Spotify...

Hey!
Still working fine here. Which device are you using?
And can you describe what's not working a little more detailed?
Thx, it'll help me fix the issues.
PS: Did you by any chance disable the notification for Spotify?
Cause that's where the widget currently gets the information from.

...hmm well...it suddenly started working again lol. No idea why. Interestingly, the only change I have made is that since last night I have been on the Spotify beta (8.6.6.1168). If it starts happening again I will make note of anything I notice and let you know. Thanks!

Okay, a version of this problem just happened. The widget said Spotify Connection in the middle and the play button was showing even though Spotify was already playing and thus the pause button should have appeared. It seemed to self correct after a few minutes, but I was able to get screenshots first:
