What happened to asop browser that was on KitKat? How can i get the asop browser back on lollipop?
Sent from my SHIELD Tablet using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2
I am missing that too.
Sadly Nvidia has skipped it instead you get chrome.
Think we must wait till someone comes with an altered version that works on Lollipop. Maybe for the Nexus 9 someone already did this so I would check in their thread too.
In for this too!!

Maybe this is useful

i installed the apk and googlebookmarks sync apk from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/themes-apps/material-aosp-browser-stock-lollipop-2-t2990801
working even on marshmallow.
Does asop have Chromecast built in as chrome? Tia

Chrome was/is better in all cases in my experience. You can always try opera?

Wasn't Flash 10.3 supposed to fix 720p flash in the browser with the 3.1 update? It seems to work just fine in the Youtube app, but the speed in the browser is still the same as 3.0.1. Is anyone else finding this the case?
While it's not as fast as I'd like it's still faster than it was on 3.0.1.

3.1 flash is slower than 3.0.1 browser flash for me, sucks cus this was one of the main reasons for me updating
I'm tired of messing with it. Just gonna keep the user agent as ipad so it works.
The work around is to click the lower bottom right and a popup will ask if you want it in browser or with the Youtube app.
Can anyone access Chrome Beta for Android (4.0) from the market? I'm running Kindle Zone, but it's not showing up. If anyone has downloaded it, can you post a link?
thanks much!

On both my htc desire and kindle fire, it doesn't work though, showing a blank white screen when pages load. I think it is due to lack of ha on both ics builds.
thank you so much! I'll give it a try!
it works for me!
edit, no it doesn't. I see program and all the settings and everything, but it doesn't display pages.

F*ck it. Worth a shot. Downloading now.
EDIT: No dice.
Same here. No Chrome on ICS.
Cant seem to get it work on cm7 either...
blank screen for me too. running kang 4.0.3 CM9 build that was downloaded yesterday.
The problem is HWA (as per my post in the ICS dev thread):
"EUREKA EUREKA, although many others have argued this viciously, full HWA is the problem for Chrome not working. My proof? The HTC Desire just received an ICS build with full HWA tonight, and suddenly Chrome is working. So now we know the problem, on to the solution!!"
got it running on EOS ics but looks like no flash support atm :-( or is it just me....

someone worked in a chrome kindle Fire with CM9?
Yeah as far as I know it isn't working due to hardware acceleration, because my friend has an Incredible rooted running a ported ICS (no hardware acceleration), and he has the same blank page issue as we do on the KF. Hopefully we'll get HA soon...
anyone figured out how to get Google Chrome on our beloved Charge?
I tried Firefox, but that seemed to be very slow...
It won't run unless you have ics or jb.

Dolphin just released a beta of a new engine. It's fast, and supports almost everything the Chrome engine does, but some features are obviously broken.

nevermind - for some reason, Firefox works really well on tweaked 3.0. I like how I can sync it with my PC browser as well...
I have been trying to find a web browser that I like & unfortunately Chrome isn't cutting it for my everyday browser. I am coming from a HTC Rezound where it automatically take you to the full website (desktop view) without changing the settings every time. I also miss Adobe Flash when visiting sites like ESPN, but could possibly live without, maybe.
Anyway, the question here is, does anyone know how to load one of the other browsers on the Droid RAZR HD (XT926)? Looking for something like what is stock on the VZW Galaxy Nexus now.
Or is there another browser that is secure that you all would recommend? Tried Opera (way too slow) and Firefox (wouldn't pull up desktop even when selected).
By the way, I am rooted running stock JB with bloat froze in case that makes a difference how or what to try.
Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

give me a few hours and ill have some stuff for you to try and see what fits you best
Opera..slow? Are we talking opera mobile or opera mini as there is one major difference between the two.
If you want the old stock browser just find a ROM with it, unzip the ROM, grab the browser apk and install it. You may need to place it in /system/app/ and set the permissions.
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2
I tried Opera Browser, not the Mini. Also I did try loading the browser from a friends Nexus into the /system/app but it didn't want to work. Perhaps I was using the wrong permissions or the apk was set up differently.
Never thought about extracting from a ROM. Will definitely try it if you can let me know the appropriate permissions.
Thanks all!

So I downloaded another ROM, extracted the browser apk, wouldn't install so I move it & changed the permissions to rw/r/r & it still is not working.
Am I missing something?

Here is an easier way to get the Nexus 5 launcher without root, hackery, or evil spells.
Download and install both apks. Bam. Will work on anything 4.1 on up.

Damn, I remember you on the Note 2 forums. Glad to see you back on the same boat, Wolfe lol
Anyways, is the keyboard pop-up annoyance fixed in your uploads or is it still present? Thanks.
Works flawless for me. Stock.

My pleasure.
I've found this launcher, kitkat and ART compiler to be sweet bliss. Swipe to left is buttery smooth with ART and 4.4.

If I install this GEL apk and end up not liking it, it is just a simple matter of uninstalling it or do I have to install the original launcher back?

Just clear defaults. Just like any other launcher. So you'll be good. If you have kitkat, you can do it from here (within settings>home):

I just installed it and did not realize how large all the icons are now. is there a way around this? otherwise I may have to go back to the original kitkat launcher?
what other differences are there?
I do like the google now swipe right though.

The icons come with the launcher. Solution for smaller ones is to use a different launcher.

Grab an icon and drag it to the right, off the edge of the screen. The GE launcher will create a new home screen for you to drop it on. Drag back to the left and it will remove the unused home screen.
After weeks use of this launcher, there is only one annoyance. The launcher keeps adding a page for reasons I'm not sure of and the page indicator is a plus sign instead of a dot. Can't figure out why it keeps doing that. I have to fix it by adding an icon on the screen and taking it out to have it disappear. See Screenshot.

Happens to me on occasion. I actually think it's by design. It's not always there on mine, it's almost like a hint or tip. It's not always there.
That's the best I got...

have you installed new app? it seems to happen from what I've noticed on new app install on the stock launcher also.
if you select the stock launcher and get rid of the app off the home screen it seems to go away
Re up
Can somebody re up? It appears the link in the op goes to an empty folder. Thanks in advance.
