[Q] External Keyboard and Gamestream - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please forgive me if this question has been answered, but I have searched several different ways with no success. I have been trying to use an external (both wired using an OTG adapter, and a wireless bluetooth) keyboard to play games from my computer using gamestream. The mouse movement will work fine, but the keyboards behave as if I am tapping a key repeatedly. Instead of my character moving forward smoothly, he slowly moves forward as if he is stopping and starting repeatedly. I've also had success using a controller, but the keyboard input just isn't working right. Is there a setting or something else I am missing? Thanks.

Do you have the same problem when using Nvidia Grid games when using the keyboard?
I'm tempted to get a keyboard/Mouse for the PC based games on Nvidia Grid.
Not using Gamestream myself as I don't have a compatible Graphics card.

Xbox/PS3 Controller right stick?

I've been googling for help with this for the past two weeks and coming up with nothing: is there a tweak or setting to enable function of the right analog stick on PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers? Having just the left is fine for cordy, but I need the right for c-buttons on n64oid. Anyone out there have any info on this?

I've had the same problem and haven't come up with a fix yet using my old Six Axis via usb cable. I've been using the a classic wiimote instead for now. Getting ready to try the new Sixaxis controller app to see if it will work better pairing the controller up via bluetooth instead of usb.

I've tried it myself. I works on the same principle as the Wiimote pairing app, except I think it piggybacks on the PS3 controller drivers native to android which leads to the d-pad, right, and left stick all getting treated at the same button presses. The end result, in my testing, was that moving the right stick left triggered a right analog, right-c, and right d-pad all at once, which is problematic to say the least.
Did that explanation make sense?

So even with the sixaxis controller app, you still can't map the right analog stick?

the d-pad, right stick, and left stick all register as a single d-pad, make sense?

Yeah, thanks for clarifying.
By chance what controller are you using, is it a Dualshock 3, or just an older sixaxis or a third party made?
I've tried 2 different sixaxis controllers over usb (Both are from when the ps3 originally came out) and a logitech controller with a dongle, none worked.
I've read in other threads in the forum after 3.1 came out and it seemed like they were lots who it worked fine for, so don't know what they were doing different
The sixaxis controller app has settings that allow for the left and right analog sticks to be programmed separately. The trick is that by default they are set to mirror each other. Just open the app, hit the menu button, go to input settings and scroll all the way to the bottom. I changed my right stick to A, B, C, D so that it didnt interfere with the other buttons.
I have been happily playing Goldeneye 64 with dual analog controls a la Halo for a few days now and love it. I even made a mini setup tutorial if youre interested http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16442843#post16442843
p.s. for what its worth I'm using a plain jane SixAxis minus rumble. Got it dirt cheap on eBay since Transformer cant send rumble commands anyway.
Just to add: After you change the controller configuration in Sixaxis controller, you need to disconnect then reconnect the controller for the new configuration to take effect. I have it working fine on my transformer.

Thanks, I was going to ask about that. Now my sixaxis is my go to controller.
I'd still like to get the right stick working while the controller's plugged in. Having true analog response for the left stick combined with c-buttons would be gaming nirvana. anyone have any luck with that?

mame4droid + PS3 controllers

I'm very pleased that after JB update we can connect PS3 controllers via Bluetooth (without any additional apps) to TF700. It was no problem to connect 2 controllers at once... both work like a charm... it strange that light indicators on controllers indicate that both controllers are on the same "channel" (1st from 4)
...anyway.. it's a different story when you want to assign two controllers in mame4droid emulator. Everything works perfectly with one cntrl ...just need to define keys for player 1 and voila.... you can play SF3 without braking your fingers on touchpad...
I thought that it would be nice to try any fighting game for two players... unfortunately when I tried to define keys for player two (for 2nd cntrl), I saw that mapping of keys for 1 st player one was gone... it seems that mame4droid understands that these two PS3 controllers (which are both connected via bluetooth) are one and the same controller
Also tried connecting second controller with USB cable.... ...no success.
By the way no problems of using dock keyboard for second player...but this not the way out...
Anyone has any clues how to assign second controller in mame4droid?
hey buddy
i was wondering how do u set up your controller in mame4droid? i;m having a little trouble.

[Q] Using mouse and keyboard in games, how to?

Hello everyone,
Phone LG G2 on 5.0.2 lollipop
I tried to use mouse and keyboard in games like in some of guides I've found on the internet. I've installed USB/BT JoystickCenter, tried to set up this but I've got communicate that joy2touch service has stopped, keyboard is not showing, outside the app, mouse and keyboard is all right. Tried to use M&Key2Touch app and it doesnt even load, it says that "No touchscreen found! Cannot start touch service". Gamepad works fine in games. Does anyone has this problem? Or maybe other app to use keyboard and mouse (mostly mouse) in games on android? Also, I've tried GameKeyboard+ and it won't let you use mouse normally, only keyboard (and it's much better with gamepad so just no)
Thanks

Tablet remote control via bluetooth with smarphone and controller plugged in, how?

Sorry for my English
I realize that the question is a little "convoluted" and hope to be in the right section.
I have an old tablet Acer Iconia tab a100 I wanted to connect to my TV via HDMI and to whom I wanted to connect a joypad to play.
However, the very old Acer does not have OTG and I do not have an Bluetooth controller (I have a Logitech dual action, a PS2 pad with USB adapter and wireless xbox360 controller with the adapter).
Now I tried to use my s3neo as pad through the app BT controller, but not everything works with all apps and still is inconvenient because I have not the sensitivity of the controller (in the sense I do not see what I touch when I watch TV) .
I floated the idea of linking one of my pad via OTG all'S3neo and use it as a "bridge" for the tablet via Bluetooth (I do not have wi fi).
I try with 360 pads but does not work (not pairing while on pc work and do not understand why)
The Logitech Dual Action is recognized, however, creates a problem: Some keys are associated with functions that can not be removed (for example by pressing the appropriate button of the triangle comes to my home and is therefore not usable in game)
The ps2 pad is however recognized the right analog is completely busted.
I tried with tincore keymapper but I have serious difficulties.
Thanks in advance!

Sixaxis & DS4 over BT

Been using the Sixaxis app on my Nvidia Shield tablet to play Gamestream games on my couch. I'm using the DS4 wirelessly over BT. The Shield is connected wired via OTG LAN adapter.
Have a couple of problems that I'm trying to sort out:
1. When I hold down any of the direction pad buttons, the input is taken as multiple fast presses so it's impossible to use in some games like GTA5 where you need to hold down a direction in order to change characters. This "long press" is actually used in quite a few games so it's a big bummer that it doesn't work properly.
2. I set auto-launch in the sixaxis app but when I switch to the console mode it doesn't pair with the DS4 when I turn it in. I have to stop and then re-start the sixaxis to get it to see the DS4.
Would really like to fix at least #1. Any suggestions?
PS: Shield is on Android 5.3.
Would someone who plays with the same setup (DS4 via BT) mind posting screenshot (or description) of their Sixaxis settings?
