[Q] Android Dialer - General Questions and Answers

hello guys ....
I tried many times to make my dialer depending the dalliers that I download it from Google.
All these dialers I imported it to eclipse but all these dalliers have many wrongs "it needs more resources" so I need an original dialer works and import it to eclipse without any wrong like a dallier on Sony Z.
Can you help me, please.

Stock 2.1 Calendar and Email Apps

Hey guys,
Is there any possible way to get the stock 2.1 calendar and email apps with the exchange sync onto our rooted 2.1 x10's.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hey. Thanks for your reply. The APKs in that folder are the ones that came with the X10 version of 2.1. What Im after is the apps that come on the standard 2.1. Sony Ericsson removed the ones with the Native Exchange Sync functionality.

Dylan

Even I have heard that the native Exchange app for 2.1 is not as good as moxier but I still would like to try it. Could you please update us if you found it>? I am looking as well. Probably someone from Nexus one should have it.
I have found a number of 2.1 Email and Calendar apk's. Its installing them thats the problem. I either dont have an option or get a parsing error. If someone can assist in this that would be great.
I have attached some of the apks for your reference.
I yet to find a solution for this. 2.1 exchange had problem with wipeing but it was fixed at some points but no trace of any solution of instaling.

[Q] Calendar and Contacts help?

Has anyone found a way for the calendar and contacts to sync with your Gmail account. I know that the CM6.1 did it when I used it for a day but how about TnT or ZPAD builds?
I'm kinda surprised I haven't heard more about this. With all the developments making this a fully functional tablet you'd think more people need / want this.
Is there a way to extract those from the CM Build and dump them in? Or, Rothnic, with the Galaxy Theme can we extract the calendar and contacts from them somehow?
Or.... has this been done and I've completely missed it?

I think that if we could get the galaxy tabs email and calendar on the g-tab taht would be even better!!!!
Yes, please! I am running stock now that the update came out. Added Gmail, Market and Maps manually per another post, but I would really like to have the calendar as an app. Galaxy versions would be amazing!
Is the issue just not having the calendar app? I'm about to update zpad and i can include it.

Both of these were changed in TNT Lite 2.00, at the advice of another user who was looking for Exchange support (insight3fl). There could be other changes.
It's not something I use daily on this tablet, so I have to follow the advice of others with these apps.
Well... Ok, dunno if it was changed in the last zpad build but now all is working. The only other change I made was the market hack (and the angry bird hack) but all is working now
AGAIN, thanks roebeet and rothnic for all the hard work and all the others for your continued efforts. Yes I know there are still standing issues but this tab has become very tolerable in such a short time. I do empathise for those who want perfection right out of the box, and I'm limited in my android experience, but I've yet to see any device that would suit everyone's need stock.
Thank god for open source.

Any idea on 2.02 TNT lite how to enable exchange on the calendar?
I can only speak for my self, but the contact and calendar are one of the main draws for me. Having my phone and PC share all of this with the tab is primo.
Contacts seems to work (Sometimes spotty), but I have yet to get my google calendar to sync on the tab?
Instructions (very detailed instructions!) on how to get Google Calendar and Contacts working properly under TNTLite, without using the Exchange workaround:

Thanks I will give that a try tonight and post up my findings.
Downloading Google Contacts
Folks - read the threads, but all contact issue workarounds seem to involve TnT Lite/rooting, and I haven't rooted (yet). I'm going to give VS a chance during the 20 Dec update to prove they are continuing to upgrade the product. I have one nagging issue - can't complete the Google contacts download - it stops at step 2 of 5 and says "unable - check internet connection" - which of course is not the issue. Makes sending emails a real pain.
Anybody else have this problem and have a workaround? I downloaded the contacts manually as csv and vcf files, but can't get the G Tab to recognize them (or let me move them from the Downloaded Attachments folder to the SD Card main folder)...
Thoughts?

motoroi dialer problem

hi
i have a motoroi xt720, im having a problem about the dialer program. when ever i dial a number it inserts a "-" sign in between the numbers, because of that sign, i can't do a balance check on my sim because it uses this kind of command *221#
whenever i dial *221# the dialer make it like this *-221#
is there a work around for this problem.? hope anyone out there is willing to give answers to this. . .
Hi,
Wow, that's crazy. Back when I was playing with the WanHu ROM I had problems with the grouping of the numbers, so it looked funny, but it made no difference to the outbound call. (meaning whether the dialer displayed 1-866-289-6686 or 186-62896-686, the call still worked and went to the same place).
One option you could try is changing your Dialer. I'm using the HiDialer dialer (ver 1.80) which I think came from the HTC Sense ROMS. I like it because I can search for contacts by T9 dialing their names (like the MIUI rom), but I also just noticed that it doesn't do any spacing in between numbers whatsoever. So maybe it'll help you?
I used one of the two apks listed here (I believe the second one): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1081817
@thejaycan, thanks for the reply man, and im sorry i forgot to update this thread, i've already found a fix for this problem. I'm using brianlee's Bravo Rom. For me, it is the best rom for those using korean xt720. I hope that other devs will help update bravo rom up to the latest android version. =[)
and by the way, thanks for the link. i thinks it's a good dialer also.

[Q] caller ID matching to contacts - please help

Hello,
New to the forum, hello and thanks to all!
I'm Running a Captivate with Cyanogen Mod 7.1
and I am seeing that the incoming caller ID number has to exactly match the phone number stored in the contact (all digits) for the contact matching to work correctly (for received calls and SMS)
I would like to limit the matching to 8 digits, like many traditional cell phones out there. The problem is that in my country in some situations I need to dial the numbers differently from what the network reports for incoming calls.
With ES File Explorer , I modified the /system/build.prop file , adding the line “ro.phone.min_match=8” but it still does not work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160343
The file was modified successfully, the change is still there, but it does not work. Maybe I have to do it differently, with the adb tool but I really don´t know how. Or maybe it will not work with Cyanogen??
Could anybody please give me some guidance on how to do this ?
Thank you very much!
Gonzalo
Ok, after some investigation of the source code:
This does not work with Cyanogen Mod. It has a completely different caller id-to contact code, so that method will not work.
Gonza
Well, does anybody know how to change that behavior?
Since the Nokia S40 days, I'm used to see caller ID matched to the 8 last digits of my contacts. And this has been a major annoyance on CM7 to me, to the point I'm nearly compiling AOSP to extract the original app...
Did anybody discovered how to solve this issue? any progress?
This is the only annoyance I have with CM7.
Thanks,
Marcelo
same for me! any solution?
Unfortunately there is no solution to this.
My brother and I , we looked at the source code, and after a couple of hours of searching we found the routines. Its easy to modify, but then you need to build everything again from scratch.
I dont know how to do that but my brother does, so he tried to do it for me but it took ages to download all the code, and the donwloads were interrrupted etc etc.
End of the story, he could not do it. It can be modified, but somebody hast to do it ...
