[Q] Network unlock code / Koodo stock firmware - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After failing at installing a new ROM, I tried to restore my phone to complete stock and now I'm having more issues. Upon booting the phone, I get prompted with a screen asking for a SIM Network unlock pin. I am able to dismiss this screen by clicking the "dismiss" button and continue using my phone normally, but it refuses to connect to any network. I've tried using different SIM cards in the phone, but it is still not working. Furthermore, I am unable to find a koodo version of my firmware, because the only site that supposedly distributes those (the droid developers website) is down. If any one could find a mirror for a download or a solution, feel free to post it!
Many thanks!

[Q] Galaxy S2 Not Registered on Network After Root

Hi,
I recently got a Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 from my girlfriend which was locked to T-Mobile (it had been a contract phone). My contract is on Orange so I flashed an insecure kernel in Odin and used Samsung Quick Root to root the phone. I booted it up and managed to unlock (though i'm now not sure if this was a full unlock or some kind of soft-unlock, I don't know if that's even a thing - I used an app called "Galaxy S Unlock"). Anyway I tried sending a text just to make sure and it was fine. I decided to install CyanogenMod (latest version on the website), I did and all was fine. Then I was prompted to update on my phone so I did, halfway through it crashed and - being an idiot - I turned off the phone. After that I could only get as far as the Samsung logo when trying to boot and after that it would return to a black screen.
I did some Googling and decided to flash back to a stock ROM which worked and the phone booted fine. Now however, the phone asks me for the SIM unlock code (making me think this was a soft-unlock) yet I still get bars of signal but if I try to text or call I get the "Not Registered on Network" error. I've tried adding Orange's APN manually but it won't save, everytime I press save and go back into the APN it's blank. I've also tried to select the network using the "Select automatically" as well as trying both Orange and T-Mobile in the network options and simply get an "Unable to connect. Try Later" error. I've also tried to update through the phone and it says it's upto date. I'm currently running Android 4.1.2. The Baseand Version is I9100BVLS4 and the Kernel Version is 3.0.31-889555 with Build Number JZO54K.I9100XWLSY.
Could anyone give me any advice as to what to do? Thanks!

The Galaxy S unlocker mods the EFS folder and putting it back to stock might have messed up something. I would re-root and re-do the unlock. hope you have a copy of the original EFS partition before you started or that the app made a backup for you in case...

[Completed] Subsidy locked Droid 3 Pure Talkusa Sim

@sd_shadow
Went to the Verizon store to get my droid unlocked only to have the tech people there input different codes that did not work and the security feature unexplained. I went to try the sim and within a few tries it was locked.
Tech support has given me the sim network code that goes with the phone now that it is subsidy locked. I have looked at the steps on Sd Shadow's site about flashing and rooting the phone and have gone so far as to download and install the motorola drivers (signed by microsoft?). The device now shows in device manager as an ADA interface.
I have tried flashing with rsd lite, only to hear several sounds as if the device is reconnecting and see flash failure at 6/18 partition.
Am I using an incomplete .Xml?
The Fast boot version is 0A.53 and the xml downloaded from http...........://......................motofirmware.center/files/ was
VRZ_XT862_5.5.1_84_D3G-55_1FF_01.xml.zip
Haven't seen anyone trying to unblock for use with Pure Talkusa. I don't know if it makes any difference what third-party carrier i decide to go with.
I have used three different cords for the flashing, one of them does not "wiggle" in the ports like the others, but it is an older cord.
I am using Windows 7

Unable to connect to mobile networks

Greetings, I have created an account in order to seek help directly.
I received a LG P920 phone already rooted on ICS 4.0.4
At this time mobile networks worked and the phone was able to make calls and such. I did a factory reset which led to a recovery-loop so I followed this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228269
I then obtained CWM 6 using this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2144738
And finally decided to flash Cyanogenmod 11 unofficial
http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-3d/development/rom-t2929971
It was at this point that I realized I couldn't connect to networks at all, thinking maybe the ROM was faulty I went for the official CM10 rom (the last nightly available on cyanogenmod), but that did not work either. Tried returning to ICS (v30a) but I couldn't connect to networks.
I've searched a lot of guides to recovering mobile networks but the catch is that most of them talk of lost IMEI numbers, which my phone hasn't lost. I looked into using LG flashtool aswell but all links are broken, be it for the software, the crack or the dll I need to have.
I'm at a loss right now, most of the guides I've seen here are for different purposes other than just getting the mobile networks going.
The SIM card works on another phone. Also, when trying to enter the password it will at times accept anything or not accept anything at all, even if it's the right code. If I search networks, they will be found but I'll just get 'Can't connect to this network right now'
My Baseband reads LGP920AT-00-V30a-EUR-XXX-APR-04-2013 and I'm currently on CM10
update: I have been informed by the previous owner that this phone hasn't been SIM unlocked, which is probably the problem here. Obviously this wasn't going to be so easy as I obtained the code and attempted to unlock it, but for some reason the process was unsuccessful. guess I'm still lost
Thanks in advance

Flashing Assurance wireless to Note 3

So I have a note 3 sm-n900p I want to flash if needed to Assurance Wireless that is through Virgin Mobile through Sprint. The phone they gave me is a ANS UL40 that takes a sim card. I don't know if it is a GSM hybrid or what. If I do not have a sim installed in it, it says no service. So here is what I have tried on the note 3. Stock rom installed MJ4 modem sim unlocked. TWRP and rooted. Also tried ssu.apk region lock away.apk. ssu crashes and region lock says ok. Also have tried custom rom's (many) with or without MJ4 modem. Also did the *#0011# and changed settings to menu > key input > Q,
menu > back,
menu > key input > 0000.
Wait for about 20 seconds then a menu will appear. Once the menu appears go to:
>UE SETTING & INFO
>SETTING
>PROTOCOL
>GCF
>GSM/(E)GPRS/WCDMA GCF ON
Either way I still get on any of these changes no sim or sim card not detected or sim card has locked reboot phone.
Also have tried DFS tool and change all info to what I get off the other phone Like IMEI and such, still same. Anybody have any suggestions on how to get the note 3 to take the sim card on assurance wireless? I have tried so many roms and so many ways of flashing with no luck. I have sim unlocked this phone before and it worked on Tag Mobile which is through T-mobile. Please give me any suggestions on what to do, will try anything. Thanks
Also forgot to mention I have used HLTE and HLTESPR roms and modems still no luck
Hope u figure out. I have same exact two phones. Even versions are same. I will be trying a few things later today keep you posted.
Assurance Wireless sux. Need I say more. Going to another carrier.......
Did you ever find a way to root your ANS UL40? I have one myself, & haven't found any way to do so.
HELP!!!
is there a way to flash assurance wireless to samsung galaxy note 4/ android oreo 8.1/lineage OS version?

Samsung Galaxy S10 (SM-G973F) doesn't register to network

I recently bought a used Samsung Galaxy S10 (SM-G973F).
At first glance the phone was in excelent shape. The SIM Card was connecting to the mobile network, and calls, internet connection, etc was OK.
But then, I found out that the phone had been rooted. Probably, by the seller. In pannic, I rushed to unroot flashing the stock Rom.
Here what I did:
1- Forgot to check my precisly CSC code and assumed ZTA (cause I'm from Brazil, and the phone is from carrier "Claro")
2- Downloaded the stock rom using Frija
3- Using Odin 3.14.1 flashed the device.
The previous rooted system was on Android 10 and One UI 2.5. With this new rom went to Android 11 and One UI 3.0.
The problem:
The phone recognizes the SIM Card. But it simply doesn't connect to the network. When I try to make a call it says: " not registered on network"
The phone DO recgonizes the SIM Card. On the SIM Card Manager shows my carrier name (Vivo) and my phone number. Also, the SIM app is showing on the app list.
Things I tried:
Rebooting the phone
Changin the SIM Slot
Testing the SIM on another device to ensure it was working
Checked if the IMEI wasn't missing/undefined. It is not, the IMEI appears to be untouched
Checked if the IMEI had been blacklisted. It's not.
Flashed SEVERAL different stock ROMS with different CSC (ZTO, ZTA, ZVV)
Try to manually select the network. This also throws an error saying "error while searching for network"
I'm really desperate and don't know what to do anymore.
No one have a clue either? :C
Look inside here:
How to Fix 'Not Registered on Network' on Android
Here is how to fix 'Not Registered On Network' error on Android. Mostly error occurs on Samsung phones, but this solution works for all android phones.
www.android-recovery.net
Wow,
This is exactly like my S10 right now.
At first, all is good, the signal was great, all working well, except cant connect to samsung pass and samsung health because it was root.
then i brought to sellular shop service, to flash the phone.
Then, “not registered to network” happened. The signal ok, the phone able to read dual simcard, but “emergency call only” and if i try to search network manually, “error while searching for network”
And the sellular shop service have no idea how to fix after they reflashed and try to fix it for several days.
Have you found any solution to fix your pho?
pls advice…

So, were you able to find a solution for this problem? I also bought a Note 9 N960F/DS recently and found out it was actually a N960N model that was changed to N960F/DS. So I did exactly what you did, I flashed the original stock rom, N960N, but now phone will not connect to network. I also did hard reset, reflash other stock roms, nothing changed. Anybody with insight should please give us some pointers.
