Hey guys,
I just updated my Nexus 5 to Lollipop (stock). I do run into a problem now:
I'm using Tasker with many plugins. Or at least I did use it on 4.4. Now, when I'm trying to install "Pebble TaskWatch" - which has a tasker plugin - I get the error message 505 (unable to install). The only solution to install it, is to uninstall tasker. Then the installation of "Pebble TaskWatch" works fine, but I cant install Tasker then! Same error message.
What can I do to install both apps at the same time? I allready read about some permission errors in Lollipop which only allow one app to have a certain permission or something like that.. Is there a workaround? Thanks in advance!
Dominic
Having the exact same issue.
There's no work around really. You're correct, both apps are trying to claim the same permission.
Is there a solution at the moment? I still can't install both apps.
Send a bag of flaming **** to the developer for abandoning his app and buy Android wear.
Any joy solving this? I see the app has been removed from Google play!

Hello all,
For some apps (especially launchers: both Apex and Nova) installing via adb fails and shows the error message "INSTALL_FAILED_DEXOPT". This began to happen after I migrated to the ART runtime. Any clue? Thanks.
hmm, so you say you install, it via adb, it can be related to adb. errors like these are already mentioned on xda, stackoverflow and other sites. because art and nova are working for me, and I didn't install it via adb, and some people on stackoverflow already sad it can be adb related, I would try to manually install the app via the apk and a file explore or the playstore

Thanks. I also read some answers/suggestions on stackoverflow and couldn't find any working solution. When installed from the Play Store I get the error 'Unknown error code during application install: "-24"' and when manually installed through Root Explorer the result is "App not installed". Any possible explanations you can think of??
I upgraded to Lollipop yesterday and everything went perfect except for the Tasker restoration. Tasker is the only app of around 150 that did not restore.
The symptoms are really weird:
The Google Play store on my desktop computer says Tasker is already installed and I can't install to my Nexus 5
The Play store on my phone, tries to install and then throws an Unknown error code during application install: "-505"
I tried to restore Tasker (app + data) from Titanium Backup, but it just sat there trying to restore for 30 minutes
I tried to install the .apk directly but got a message that I couldn't install
Using TotalCommander and deleted the Tasker folder and still can't install (APK install or Play Store)
I'm not sure what to try next. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Questions go in Q&A.
And yes, there have been some Google Play issues today. It will resolve itself.
Just tried to install using adb and got the following error:
adb install "C:\Users\aagha\Desktop\Tasker.4.5u1.apk"
pkg: /data/local/tmp/Tasker.4.5u1.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_DUPLICATE_PERMISSION perm=net.dinglisch.android.tasker.PERMISSION_RUN_TASKS pkg=com.brandall.nutter]
Not sure where to go from here.
Thanks. Sorry. Can I move the thread?

From this error, I decided to remove the Utter application (com.brandall.nutter) and then Tasker installed fine.

I am facing the same problem (and i think everyone using Tasker in Lollipop), and i think it's because the route to swith on and off 3g mobile data has changed in Lollipop and Tasker should get updated sometime.
There is no problem with other settings like wifi or location settings using Secure settings (app that isn't able to turn on and off mobile data either).
If someone knows about some plugin for this, would be appreciated.
EDIT: I have found this: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/toggle-data-5-lollipop/
It's an app that can be used as a widget and Tasker/ locale plugin for turning on and off mobile data. Still have to try it but sure it works. It's a temporary solution but it's better than nothing
I tried installing the app Disable Service from the Play Store. After I try to run the app, it immediately says "Unfortunately, DisableService has stopped". I have tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling several times.
I am using a Nexus 5 on stock 4.4.2, rooted. Play Store is installing version 1.6.1 of Disable Service. Please let me know any other information I need to provide.
Thanks!

Maybe try downloading SELinuxModeChanger and set SE linux to PERMISSIVE. That fixed a lot of my apps, mostly apps that require root access such as Viper4Android and all my battery stats apps.
Thanks for responding! Unfortunately I just tried your suggestion and it made no difference.
I have the same problem, force close, with version 1.6.1. Version 1.6 worked perfectly fine in Lollipop.
its there update from today. google disable services and download/install the older apk.
Sounds promising! Where could I pick up the previous version? Searching google I come across many pirate sites with questionable downloads.
That's about the only way, "pirate sites."

Updated to 1.6.2.
Hopefully, this fixes a lot of things.
1.6.2 works for me.
Hi all,
A few months ago I've installed a Developer Preview of Android 6.0 on my Nexus 5. It has worked surprisingly well and today I've updated manually to the latest build (MRA58N). So no root, official recovery...
Android itself works well, but many apps from the Play Store stop with the famous "Unfortunately [App name] has stopped" message. Virtually half of them.
I've tried the usual ways to fix the problem like the cache cleaning and so on, but nothing works. The only way is to uninstall the app and to install it again. Of course, every one needs to be configured next.
What can I do? Of course, I can reinstall and reconfigure every single app, but maybe there is a global fix already available?
[Update]: I continue to investigate the issue because my other Nexus 5 has been updated perfectly. It seems the problem is related to the app permissions as some of them can't access the files, other launch, but can't open any file. Any way to repair the permissions?
Thanks in advance.
Hello, I am using a sharp Aquos crystal(306sh) with root, xposed, and BusyBox all installed. Recently I have been faced with a problem that is quite annoying. Whenever I try to use a VPN app it will give me some sort of error. The main app I use is Betternet and when I tap connect it gives me a toast notification as follows: "Unfortunately, your Android does not support vpn, but you can still try restarting your device to use Betternet." This has become a real problem and has evolved from when it first began happening. when this first started happening it would just tell me to grant permission to Betternet on the prompt I was given, but that prompt would never show up. Thank you in advance to anyone who helps me and note that I would be happy to give any additional information on my problem, device, etc.
Hi !
Was this app ever working ? What android version do you have ? Have you purchased it from Google play or downloaded apk ?

Hi, Betternet was downloaded directly from Google play and I am on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. It was working before and I am not sure what could have caused the issue.
I've tried myself that app, it's working fine on nougat, uninstal it, reboot, do it again

Thanks, but I have already tried that. I don't think it is a problem with the app, but rather a problem with the system or maybe a conflicting app I have installed. The reason I am asking for help is because I DON'T want to factory reset and I don't want to accidentally make things worse. Do you have any ideas on what may be causing the issue? I would try to find out myself, but I just don't know where to start.
Do you have the VPN settings in network settings?
Try to set up from there
Try a different free VPN to see if it's app or system issue
Try to Google for kitkat vpn issues, apparently there were some reports
Xposed may have something to say, remove what you can until step by step you can identify the culprit

Yes, I do have VPN settings, but I don't know how to connect to Betternet through there. Also, I had googled this for a couple hours before posting and everyone seemed to have a different issue, but I will look again.
Finally, I have tried other apps and they all have the same problem. The problem seems not to be with connecting, but rather getting permission from the system to connect.
