[Q] Disable Service app not working - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried installing the app Disable Service from the Play Store. After I try to run the app, it immediately says "Unfortunately, DisableService has stopped". I have tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling several times.
I am using a Nexus 5 on stock 4.4.2, rooted. Play Store is installing version 1.6.1 of Disable Service. Please let me know any other information I need to provide.
Thanks!

Maybe try downloading SELinuxModeChanger and set SE linux to PERMISSIVE. That fixed a lot of my apps, mostly apps that require root access such as Viper4Android and all my battery stats apps.

Thanks for responding! Unfortunately I just tried your suggestion and it made no difference.

I have the same problem, force close, with version 1.6.1. Version 1.6 worked perfectly fine in Lollipop.

its there update from today. google disable services and download/install the older apk.

Sounds promising! Where could I pick up the previous version? Searching google I come across many pirate sites with questionable downloads.

That's about the only way, "pirate sites."

Updated to 1.6.2.
Hopefully, this fixes a lot of things.

1.6.2 works for me.

[Resolved] [Q] Xiaomi TV Box

I have a Xiaomi TV Box 3rd Gen, Model : MDZ-09-AK and i'm having a few problems. After trying to install google play for awhile, I rebooted and manged to get google play, however a few things happen, I couldn't install apks (crashes any apps that tries to install it) and google play doesn't even work (No connection though my wifi works), the youtube app also stopped working. So I decided to enter system menu and clear everything out. However, i'm now stuck without a settings app, with a broken play store and some default apps. I cannot install any .apk.
Anyone can assist me?

Facebook won't install..

I'm running the KatKiss 6.0 rom on my tf700t. When I try to install Facebook it downloads and then hangs on the install process. Them my launcher starts going crazy and I have to hard boot. Other apps install fine. Not sure what my problem might be.

I was having the same problem when installing the newest version of Facebook from the play store. The fix I found was to install an older version.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2099916
is where I found it & I installed version # 7.0.0.22.28.
I also found that I would get the same problem if Facebook tried to update so I went into settings in the play store & set Auto-update apps to Do not auto-update apps.
Hope this helps.

Play Store Has Stopped

Hello everyone,
I have an issue, uninstalled the play store app completely from the system and downloaded the most recent one from an XDA thread. After re-installing it does not work. It says (Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped working). Now I've tried some method like clearing the cache and data from both the play store and google play services. I also did a factory reset using TWRP, everything is back to normal except the play store app which did not installed by itself but I had to re download it fro XDA. How can i fix the app so I can use it again? Could it be that is not working cause is not in the system folder anymore? if so how can I put the app back there? Thank you in advance for any help you may give me. :fingers-crossed:

We are all in the same boat its annoying this happened to me too after the B135 update got in
its good to know im not alone in this..
is there any workaround?
Guys. Uninstall truecaller and Google play works.
Sent from my MHA-AL00 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I tried every single way to solve the problem, including enable all the permissions for google play, enable unknown source download and install, clear cache and data in google play store and google play service, factory reset, connect to VPN, etc. restart the phone is the temporary solution.
I know US version doesn't have this problem. It is probably due to the GMS installed specifically in AL00 model.
I would recommend install third party market like apkpure, 9apps for now and wait for the update to solve this problem.
Uninstall truecaller and it will work...

PLEASE HELP! I cannot install the first Google Play Services app downloaded from the link after I uninstalled existing Google Play Services app. Installation of Google Play Services always failed because (it says) my device has newer version even after I uninstalled it.
Now my device does not have Google Play Services but I can't install the version downloaded from the link.
My phone suddenly gave me tge play protect cerification error and could not access playstore, youtube, google maps, chrome,... Etc.
However, i tried the googlifier method and i have everything working fine yet the google play services is not updated and thus Android auto does not work and requires me to update Google play services and when i did i got the certification error again.
Any solution?
Problem solved finally.

It worked, thank you very much.
Had to do it today too, but I skipped all the app activities, just uninstalled the Google Play services, and installed the older one, posted in this thread.
Worked like a charm.
I can open again Google apps without error messages, but Android Auto still does not work, because the fixed installed Google play services is an older version. Any solution for Android Auto?
I have tried a few options out there, however despite un-installing the GPS when I go to install the 1st pkg it returns with a message to say I already have a 'newer' version installed.
I have rebooted the phone to see if that would clear it however nothing.
Force stop GPS & clear Data before uninstall. Afterwards, install the GPS fix from the video link. It should work.

Unfortunately having un-installed GPS already I do not have the option to do the above. Tried downloading the same version via APK however that is also noting that I am using the latest version.

Managed to find a workaround for Android Auto. I've installed Virtual Android from Google Play, I've installed latest Google services & Android Auto on it and it works perfectly

Yeah this is the same problem from years. Push notifications are broken with these kind of method.
Is this method working? I can't downgrade and I feel bad about my fiancée for recommending this camera phone to her. I would like to find a way to allow you to use at least contacts and mail. Can you help me?
