Enjoy the New Year Celebrations!! As before, please let me know if you face any issues.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As promised, here is the New Tar file containing Android 5.0.1!!
Remember to Backup Data!! This build also adds mounting USB Drives using an OTG cable. (Thanks to Cyanogenmod's work). You can go to Settings > Storage to mount and unmount drives. I'm working on having a notification to enable mounting/unmounting from Notification tray itself. As before, /data is F2FS. The Kernel has been reworked to a better Dithering solution for the display. Tethering support (USB/WiFi/Bluetooth).
Follow the guides below to Flash (Sorry I don't know how to make OTA package yet)
jiri.bati.novak
I will post all the diffs later.
If you like this, please feel free to thank me!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have moved on to AOSP 5.0.1!! I will upload the files later but for now here's a Screenshot:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've managed to build the system from source. This is a Nexus7 3G build and I do not know whether it will work on the WiFi version. Please note that this is not a ROM and I am a total noob (who does not yet know how to build a ROM).
Please don't hold me responsible if your device goes Kaput. I will look into the issue but I do not have any idea what I'd be doing
Find the Archive here:
This archive has:
boot.img (F2FS supporting kernel with errdiff dither for better colour rendering)
System.img (Has WiFi/USB/Bluetooth Tethering Support)
Userdata.img
radio.img (For Flashing Radio)
openrecovery.img (TWRP to format /data to F2FS)
bootloader.img (If you completely mess up)
fastboot (linux)
adb (linux)
lollipop flash.sh (Must be Run as Root)
Only experienced users! Must use Linux.
Use TWRP to backup your data as it is a destructive process. This is not "ALL-F2FS". Only the /data partition is in F2FS.
1. Untar
2. Reboot into fastboot mode
3. Run "lollipop-flash" as root
4. Once flashing is done it will reboot to fastboot. Boot to recovery and format the /data partition to F2FS
The following steps can be done later after booting for the first time
5. In Recovery mode, Install RIL Fix. Open recovery supports MTP and OTG so you can copy the fileform your PC. Or you can use a OTG cable and a pendrive to flash the file.
6. Reboot Sytem
7. Verify System is usable
8. Install Gapps-Lollipop
9. Wipe cache, format data and change filesystem to F2FS and then wipe /data (Just to be sure)
10 Enjoy.
You can then restore /data from your backup using TWRP
Please note, I am fairly new to ROM building hence the complicated process. I will not be responsible for if your device is bricked. If you like this then suggest what else I should add to this. If you need any help please feel free to Message Me!
Thanks:
@rjwil1086 and @ajbiz11

Nice work.. Are you willing to share the steps you used to build from source?

Can you upload the 5.0.1 images, please? ☺

Couldn't get it to work in Linux Mint so I used Nexus Root Toolkit. Any differences in 5.0.1? Anyway to root?

Post Updated!!!
Hi, Posted my new build! With USB Mass Storage support for USB-OTG!! You can also root with Super-SUv2.37 . I've been doing it and it's working perfectly.

Why the kernel does not support overclock.

@slashworkninja great work, man... :good: does the new image contain the ril fix, or do we need to flash it as it was with the 5.0?

It unfortunately doesn't. You need to flash it in recovery.

@slashworkninja good job, but the location services are still not working, any progress on that?

Can you explain what the problem is? I can get a GPS lock on my Nexus 7 and Maps and Navigation are working too.

Well, I did not test the GPS outdoors for the lack of time and according to the GPS status app it should ve working, but the "network location" seems to be offline - for example the chronus widget cannot get the location for the weather forecast, Google maps are "waiting for location", same for the "News & weather" app... I think that there may be some trouble with fused location or Google Play services, but I cannot figure out anything from the logcat output...
Which version of Google Play services package are you using, can you check it?

I believe this is a Play Services bug. Try installing/updating Maps and the other Google apps. Turn on High Accuracy Mode in Location settings. Try clearing the app's cache too from App settings.

I have the same suspicion, but I've tried all the suggested steps with no luck. Still, reinstalling the apps is not the solution, it must be in the play services itself or the fused location service. That is why I was asking for the version of your - apparently working - config...

Can you give me some logs? I'll take a look. Also, can you confirm that 3G data is working?

3G Data is working correctly, no problems with mobile data whatsoever. Had the tablet with me today, now I did get the logcat of the google maps starting and clicking on "current location" fab, which displays the last known position the system got from GPS lock. So true, GPS is working correctly, only the "network location" is going haywire.... Google Play Services version 6.5.99 (1642632-434)...

That's surprising as I'm using an older version! I have everything updated too.

Hmmm, I will try downgrading to same version again, which is what I wanted to do anyway... Next on list is the clean-slate reflash...

@slashworkninja So... I have ended reflashing 5.0.1 from the start. Just noticed, that the backup services is set to debug-only cache. Well, there goes my setup, nevermind though... Still no network location, same version of play services as you. Oh well, seems like getting lollipop work properly on tilapia is going to be harder than it seems... If only I had fast machine, I would try to build for myself, but with my setup, I'm looking on three to four days of grinding, not to talk about disk usage...

I'm sorry it happened. But I did take a look at the logcat.
I am fairly new to this but I think this might be the issue:
W/ResourcesManager(21400): Asset path '/system/framework/com.android.media.remotedisplay.jar' does not exist or contains no resources.
W/ResourcesManager(21400): Asset path '/system/framework/com.android.location.provider.jar' does not exist or contains no resources.

These files do exist in the locations. So maybe there is a mismatch somewhere.

I checked, and these files do exist, at least after clean reflash...

Initial release. Based on Sandvold 0.3.9 and DianXin 120113.
NOT WORKING
Camera can be unstable
FM Radio not included
Phone FC's once on boot, then fine after that.
Probably more
REQUIREMENTS
Requires an ext3/4 partition to be the second partition on your SD Card.
Will install on any HBOOT, and symlink system folders to /data if necessary
Only stock HBOOT, Data++ and Sense can perform data wipe without rom reinstallation, due to system files needing to be moved for other HBOOT's.
INSTALLATION
If you restore apps or data using Titanium or MIUI Backup, there may be problems due to changes from GB to ICS. If you do have any, restore apps one by one to find the culprit.
Make sure you have an ext3/4 partition setup as the second partition on your sd card, otherwise you will have very little memory to use as data2ext won’t work.
Please understand this is a very beta version, so expect errors.
There is no FM radio, so please don’t bother complaining.
Any errors, feel free to post but do not demand a solution.
Flash at your own risk.
If you experience any serious problems, we recommend you do a full wipe/factory reset then flash again.
SUPPORT INSTRUCTIONS
I will NOT be responding to any more posts about problems unless you can prove/state the following:
You have NOT restored any apps from a backup from a GB rom.
You have tried a full wipe/factory reset.
You have used google to try to find the answer yourself.
You have read the comments to see if the problem is already reported.
You have read the entire post and followed the instructions provided.
If the problem is related to apps FC’ing, you provide a logcat of the FATAL EXCEPTION.
If the problem is low memory, post the output of “df” and “mount” commands in terminal.
Do NOT ask for features/apps from MIUI GB to be included. They are when they are.
Any other reports, unless I deem them to be reasonable, will be ignored. Take no offence, but if I don’t answer (and trust me I’m very good at answering the questions promptly unless I’m asleep) it means you haven’t done the above, so read properly and try again.
Do NOT ask about any device other than the HTC Desire GSM.

Now that's what I'm talking about...
standing by in here buddy...
Hey guys, really sorry but I've tried uploading to Multiupload (MIUI_Au servers get flogged enough as it is) and twice its gotten to 100% and then frozen, leaving me with no URL. I will find an alternative tomorrow night, so unfortunately as I have work in 8 hours I do have to go to sleep and leave it till then. It'll be worth the wait I'm sure, been using it today as a break from MIUI and all seems to function well. In the meantime use MIUI_Au Stay tuned.
Side Note: Anyone who wants to offer a direct mirror I can upload to via ftp is more than welcome
Language
Sory, will russian language be suported in this rom?
This looks quite nice indeed.
I'm pretty sure it has all the languages the ASOP version has
android 2.3 version has only english and chinese, so...
Ill try. look nice
Please upload. I want to try it.

All is fine but LX-D2X makes my desire to respond very slowly when starting applications.
Do you plan to make it possible to those with slow sdcards (as me ) changing to PC-A2SD as in your previous scripts?
Thanks for your work.

Ah OK, it gives fc? If so I know why, and I'll try to update in the next couple of days.
For now, type the following in terminal for pc-a2sd:
app2ext pca2sd
Then reboot and it should have changed to pc-a2sd (app app-private dalvik on sd-ext) and run a bit smoother (maybe, dalvik on SD can cause problems especially with slow SD card). Other parameters are data2ext (app app-private data dalvik), data2int (all internal), a2sd (app app-private) and lxa2sd (app app-private data).

[ROM][06 May 2012] Flytouch 3 Superpad 2 TolgaMOD_FT3_v1.0

Hello,
This ROM is based on Tim6a and www_apad_tv-ibex-Flytouch-3-Firmware-V8.
I started customizing Tim's 6a ROM for my own use, basically since I wanted to see all apps compatible with FT3 on Google Play and I wanted to use ADW Launcher. Now that my customization is complete, I wanted to share it with the xda-developers community
The ROM is built to mimic a Samsung Galaxy GIO device. This device has a much smaller screen but has an ARMv6 processor like the FT3. So all apps downloaded from Google Play should work, and with good performance since it will be the app's QVGA version. Gameloft games also recognize this device, so for example you can download and play Ice Age Village.
Credits go to Tim for his great custom ROM, Apad.tv for firmware-V8, Axlien for the build.prop ideas, chairshot215 for performance tweaks. Thank you guys!
mod edit
I hope you enjoy this release!
Tolga
INSTALLATION:
Unzip the contents of mod edit] to the root folder of your SDcard, and reboot FT3. When the installation is complete, don't forget to take out the SDcard and remove the installation files.
If Wi-fi is grayed out after installation, it means that your wifi card is not 0803 v1. (default) Try enabling old FT3 or 0803 v2 using Tim's scripts in Gscript Lite.
To view all apps on Google Play, follow these steps after installation:
1. Open Google Play, accept the upgrade and accept TOS.
2. Go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications and select ALL tab.
3. Go to Google Play, clear cache and force stop (DO NOT CLEAR DATA)
4. Go to Google Services framework, clear data and force stop
5. Open Google Play, and you should get a server error. (This is normal)
6. Restart FT3 and all compatible apps should be visible on Google Play!

Hmmm.
I'm useing one of Tim's Roms... not sure wich one. The one where the screen is always dark. I tried dling your fixed stuff put it on my sd card it said it updated took out the sd card than turned it back on, but nothing had changed, everything was still the same? I have tryed the Power button+menu+front button to factory reset it, and still tims rom is still there with no changes. I just am at a loss now... really pissed to be honest. I cant even get the thing back to it's original original settings... I want to use your packet, any suggestions?
Anyone? I have just about tried everything and I'm on my last leg. I'm about ready to just rip the case open and K.O. the battery~
Hi billypaul69,
On my FT3, I just push menu+power to do a factory reset. Perhaps you could try that button combination to do a factory reset.
About flashing my ROM: Apparently the update somehow did not complete for you. I suggest you check out this excellent video tutorial from Axlien to flash a ROM to FT3, and see if it helps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7xdpnoHLeg
Make sure you don't turn off your device, before you see the following message on the screen:
Updating system firmware completed.
Please shutdown your device and remove the installation card!
Automatic shutdown in 1 minute.
Click to collapse
If you see any other messages such as "not complete", "wrong system file" etc. and not the one above, please report them here. It's possible that either the .zip file you downloaded got somehow corrupted or the SDcard you are using for the update is faulty. In that case try re-downloading TolgaMOD, or formatting your SDcard and try again.
I hope that my suggestions work for you! Thanks for checking out my ROM!
Regards,
Tolga
Thanks soo much i'm going to try all the steps asap.

Hi
I just installed your new rom file and everything went Ok. The only problem is that my wifi network is not working. I can activate the wifi but it cannot find any network.
I tried using gscript to install on of the wifi patches but I get the following error message
"stderrermission denide" when I run the script.
Any idea as to why this is happening ? Apart from that, you rom is very snappy in operation.
Hi jammertn,
I'm glad you like the speed of my ROM, that was one of my goals indeed. I'm pretty sure one of the wifi scripts will correct the problem. For example my tablet's wifi works with the "old FT3" fix.
The reason you are getting the "permission denied" error is because gscript was not given superuser permissions.
The first time you run gscript, there should be a pop-up screen from superuser application asking for root rights. You should select "Allow" on this window. If you don't allow it or deny root access, the scripts won't work. If you denied root access and selected "remember" the first time, please launch superuser application from the app drawer and change the status of Gscript Lite to "Allow".
Since you have wifi not grayed out I guess your wifi is 0803 v2. Please try running the "Wifi fix:0803 version2" script and then reboot your tablet.
I hope that helps!
Hi and thanks for the quick reply.
From where do I launch superuser?
Click the middle button (the one with white squares) on the dock, you will have access to all installed apps including superuser.
OK I found the application.
One more question, Something happened and now gscript only sees 3 scripts. How can I make it show all the scripts like before.
Excuse all my dumb questions but I'm new at this.
No problem mate, I think the best way is to simply re-install the ROM You can backup your current apps with Titanium Backup.
Nice, thanks a million
I got it working now.
I'll be watching this thread closely.
Keep up to great work
Yay! I'm glad it worked, c ya around.
Hi Tolga
Is there anyway to activate bluetooth on this tablet? I tried using the gscript but cannnot get is to work. Any ideas ?
Hi jammertn,
This tablet doesn't have a bluetooth chip onboard. Tim's scripts are for driving usb bluetooth dongles. I'm not sure which ones work, but maybe the thread below could have more info.
http://www.apad.tv/apadforum/showthread.php?1358-Flytouch-3-Bluetooth-USB-dongle-testing-thread
Hi Tolga
Thanks for the reply, I have seen that thread but it does not have have any useful info in it. I tried it with an external usb/bluetootyh dongle but still no operation.
Hi,
I ran a quick web search and I haven't seen anyone successfully making a USB bluetooth dongle work on FT3. I think Tim included some kernel modules with the firmware for devs and testing purposes. So please don't assume it will work when you simply plug in any USB BT dongle.
Here's the support thread for Tim6a, there might be more info there:
http://www.apad.tv/apadforum/showthread.php?416-Flytouch-3-Hybrid-ROM-(rooted)&highlight=bluetooth
I think I have a USB BT dongle somewhere, I will take a look if I can find it
Regards,
Tolga
has this been posted on Apad.tv or tested on the iBex Flytouch 3 by people on there?
Do you mean if this ROM has been tested or if USB bluetooth dongle has been tested? I'm pretty sure TolgaMOD runs on Ibex Flytouch 3, since it's basically a modified version of Tim6a.
Here is my ROM's thread on apad.tv:
http://www.apad.tv/apadforum/showthread.php?2675-ROM-06-May-2012-TolgaMOD_FT3_v1.0
i installed rom over Tim 6a rom but still nothing changed,, MENU+power reset also tried.. currently my Huawei data stick does not work since some weeks, thats why i need to install a fresh firmware..
merhaba, yükleme yaptim fakat yine eski tim 6a rom yüklü yani hicbir sey degismedi, hard reset yaptim yine ayni.. ayrica önceden calisan Huawei data stick bi süredir calismiyor, birseyler silinmis olmali diyerek yeni rom yüklemek istiyordum, acaba neden calismiyordur data stick?

Unfortunately without ItachiSama, the work is slower: we were given each other something to work on. And so on, I'm still working on the camcorder, I have a package ready to be tested with some updates on the camcorder / libstagefright.
Briefly, we don't know when RC3 will be available. If it's not a problem, I would wait for ItachiSama to end exams (Thursday, 28) and to focus on what he was going to fix.
Ergo, okay? Now you can find the current changelog in the AOSP thread: a few fixes and some implementation. If I include changes in the camcorder (still NOT WORKING) and libstagefright, still some implementation. If you're good, I can upload the RC3.
However, tomorrow will ItachiSama an exam, wish him good luck!

init.d on AOSP ICS RC3
I did a fresh install of AOSP ICS 4.0.4 RC3, then installed init.d-supportenabler-test.zip and INT2EXTV2+ through recovery, and rebooted. The system booted, 'mount' through adb shell told me that my second SD partition had been mounted, apps list in settings told me that I had 65MB used and 0,92GB free in my memory, apps were installable alright. However, when I rebooted, there were no mounts and no installed apps.
I wiped data+cache and installed INT2EXT+. Apps are installable with it present, and the second SD partition is mounted during each boot.
So, the init.d-supportenabler patch works.
Sorry for not posting in the development thread, I have not got any posts here yet.

Perfect. We'll include it in next release by default so that you shouldn't have any problem.

You'll know that when we'll finish ICS and CM7!
Swap /data and /system
There was a proposal of swapping /data and /system to gain more data space in DebianDroid. I think this can be achieved through applying persistent changes to init.rc, where you have to swap mount points. Install scrips will also require mountpoint changes. [Just a guess, may work or not]
I already foresee problems with Recoveries, which are going to mount new /system as /data and reverse (according to their built-in default values), do wrong wipes etc.

Will work on this feature as soon as we'll have a fully stable build! Thanks for the info!
Bluetooth kills RC4 but works on RC3
ItachiSama asks to confirm if Bluetooth file receiving works on AOSP ICS RC3 — yes it does, just checked.
___
There is a locale bug on the first boot: notifications about USB ('USB connected' and 'USB debugging connected') remain English no matter what language I set during the initial setup. A reboot, and ...well I get into a bootlop: it seems turning Bluetooth on is fatal for RC4 (always ran into this behavior when I enabled Bluetooth on RC4).

[APP][4.4][ROOT] SDFix: Modify device permissions to allow apps to write to MicroSD

ROOT ACCESS IS REQUIRED.
I've written a simple app which modifies KitKat devices to allow user-installed applications to write to the MicroSD card on devices with two storage locations.
Background information on the underlying problem is available here: https://plus.google.com/+TodLiebeck/posts/gjnmuaDM8sn Please ensure you understand the problem and that your device has it before installing this app. This app is quite useless if your device doesn't suffer this issue.
[[[[ THIS IS A BETA RELEASE. WHILE I HAVE TESTED THIS ON MULTIPLE DEVICES MANY TIMES, PLEASE RESTRICT YOUR USE OF THIS APP TO DEVICES YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO REFLASH FROM SCRATCH. I do not expect this to occur, but this is release #1 of this app, and it modifies a configuration file as root. That said, my test devices still work even when I deliberately corrupted and deleted the target file in testing. ]]]]
This app is entirely free. It doesn't have any ads, (but it does have a few Play Store links on its final screen to my other free apps).

It will be going on the Play Store pending your feedback, but I wanted to post it here first. Please let me know if you encounter any issues.
How it works: The /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml is modified to specify that all applications which have the WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission are registered as members of the Android UNIX group "media_rw". Membership in this group is necessary to write to the MicroSD card.
In Android 4.3, most all devices granted access to the media_rw group to apps. In Android 4.4, they do not. This app simply restores the old behavior. From what I've observed this method (granting permission via platform.xml), also appears to be the preferred means of restoring SD card access on XDA and elsewhere.
This app is designed to abort if it sees absolutely anything that it does not expect. Please let me know if the app does not work for you, and what type of device/ROM/etc you're using. If the modification is unnecessary (due to media_rw access being already present) this app will make no modification.
The original platform.xml will be backed up in /system/etc/permissions as "platform.xml.original-pre-sdfix" (unless that file already exists).

Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix

The installed app is named "NextApp SDFix".

Most ROMs won't have this problem, it 's generally only an issue with factory firmware on KitKat (e.g. TouchWiz updates to KitKat). What ROM are you running?
The free version of FX File Explorer (links in my signature) should show both media card and internal storage if everything works, and you should be able to create a new folder under the "media card" catalog. If MicroSD access if prevented, attempting to create a new folder under "media card" will fail.
Got the issue on my TabPro 8.4, pending for maintenance so can't root yet, but really great thanks for saving the day.

Thanks, all good on SM9005 stock Kit Kat
Now available on the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix
Thanks for this free app.
I'm going to visit your other apps.
Nice work !!
Nice work !! Working on my S4 I337M
Thank you for your app, but you should modify it to clearly state that the device requires a reboot for the changes to take affect ( apop up or something because nobody will read the text after "Completed"), you can also make a button to reboot it directly.
That's my input. Thank you again.
Does anyone has the original platform.xml file for i9505..... I edited it but kept no backup.....
Congrats on your front page story!

On stock Note 3 KitKat rom I have a crash when the please wait text pops up. Tell me if you need some kinda logs. Just tell me where they are and I will post them.
Okey I found the cause... I had edited the file and I deleted them and all was fixed. Sorry!
Since this requires root access I assume it will not work with AT&T 4.4.2 1337 NB1 builds? :crying: or did I miss a root process for that build? Thanks

If you can make it crash, would greatly appreciate a logcat. Either just do "adb logcat > log.txt" and send me the output, or use a logcat app from the Play Store. Definitely don't want it to crash/force close under any circumstance, it's supposed to be friendlier than that.
The critical section of the logcat data should contain "nextapp.sdfix" and have a stack trace in it.
A stack trace looks like this:
Code:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid code point: -2147482938
at java.lang.Character.checkValidCodePoint(Character.java:1591)
at java.lang.Character.toChars(Character.java:2056)
at java.lang.String.<init>(String.java:537)
at com.android.inputmethod.latin.RichInputConnection.sendKeyEvent(RichInputConnection.java:392)

Thanks for the report, but don't tear your phone apart trying to reproduce it.

Delete - Deletes the saved WiFi & Bluetooth connection settings from your internal storage or sdcard for privacy.

- If using v1.0 you need to uninstall before installing a newer version
- Don't restore Bluetooth when updating from Android version 5.x to 6 or higher
- This is designed for backup/restore on the same device
- First version was posted here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost...

OP... Any plans to put this on the playstore?
I'd like to note again just how great this app is. Saved me a TON of time after my recent clean flash.
Why does Pairs have a process and service active? I just noticed under Settings / Developer / Running Services that Pairs is listed there. Its been literally days since it was used...
This is a really good app..... saves a lot of time on clean flashes. :good:

Update: Even after stopping, the process and service later appeared. Clearing auto-boot and keep-awake AppOps had zero lasting effect.
Pairs is now uninstalled. When needed I might install to make a backup or restore, but it will immediately be uninstalled after.
This user cares about giving apps free and unrestricted access to my phone.

I fixed background process sometimes starting with v1.2, it shouldn't run at all in the background when exiting with the back button.
where is this info being stored on the phone? i'd like to back it up to my drive if possible in case i need to do a full storage wipe. a cloud backup option would also be amazing.

thanks - it wasn't showing up in solid explorer, but root explorer shows the folder now.
It is not installing at all. Either version 1 or 2. It gives an error message, "can't open file".

Can you be more specific? Maybe bad download..
Works with Android 5.0+
Pairs-v1.2.apk md5sum : 72c922d0cae6fd48d4483e58b6d78baf
I am on Android 7.1 Nitrogen rom. Someone in that forum recommended this but it won't install for me. It just says can't open file when I try to install.

Try installing apk by launching it with a third party file explorer instead of the notification or the stock download manager.
That worked. I went and found the file in ES File Explorer and then when I tried to install it from there it worked. Strange. Thank you.

does anyone know a similar app for android 5.0< ? I have android 4.3 Jelly Bean and want an app like this.
Still love this app, I'd pay for it. Moving to Nugat was easy peasy.
Wow long time needed. Never found without complications. Pls keep it as simple as it is!
