[Q] Any external battery packs compatible with adaptive quick charge? - Galaxy Note 4 Accessories

I'm looking to purchase an external battery pack that's compatible with Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 spec (Samsung's adaptive quick charge).
The only one that's listed on Qualcomm's site is the mp5200q that's not listed as for sale anywhere I was able to find(besides alibaba for orders >1000 quantity). Has anyone found a compatible device?
Thanks

I'm also interested in the answer to this question.

I really doubt it. Qualcomm's technology seems to pretty new. An external battery like that probably won't come out for like a year or more.

Most likely not, Samsung's adaptive charger charges up to 9V DC. All external battery packs are made for the USB standard 5V DC output.

Wouldn't any normal external battery still work for you? Like a power bank of sorts?

I was able to obtain a small quantity of the MP5200Q directly from the manufacturer. I am keeping a couple and selling the rest for what it cost me plus fees etc.

Damn, I just missed your auction. How well does it work? And how did you get these from the manufacturer? I might do the same. Thanks!

Would love to buy one too!

while I have a few external battery packs, I've opted to go with a spare battery. 0% to 100%, immediately, and it's smaller than any of my external battery packs.

Well, I would think it's pretty self explanatory, considering it's just an extra battery and all... but here is the exact thing that I got:
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EB-KN915BWUSTA
I used the 50% coupon that you get when you register the phone to get it.
it "charges" the phone exactly once, since you're swapping out the battery, and it takes how ever much time it takes you to swap out the battery to bring it to 100%. It's about 1 minute for me.
buy another spare battery if you want to "charge" it twice. It comes with an extra plastic battery holder, so you can carry 2 batteries with you. It'll probably still be smaller than a external battery pack.

Yeah, I have a couple of power banks but I only use them for my Nexus 7. I use a second battery for my Note 4 when it needs more juice - a lot easier than tethering to a power bank. The power bank can be used with the Samsung external battery charger if need be - swap out the phone battery and recharge the first one in the charger with a power bank if AC is not available.

Wonder if this New Samsung Power Bank will have a Fast charge

How long have you had it and no issues? Some of these third party batteries can be flafy and this seems awfull cheao.I am interested to hear your experience.
I've had it maybe 2 weeks now and I don' t take it out still waiting on my external charger from hong kong. It really works great and for 17 bucks if it lasts me 2 months I'll be happy but this particular seller has had no complaints about her batteries so I would give it a .

How many hours did you get with the stock 1500 mAh battery?
Good find.
I'm guessing this battery is compatible with the Imagio? I don't see it listed under compatability.
Definitely compatible, It is 8:30 in the am I charged it the night before last I have 32 percent battery left currently. Now yesterday was a lighter than normal phone usage day for me but I made calls and checked email all day. The oem battery lasts me from about 8 in the morning till about 7 in the evening which is my normal usage which I consider heavy. I email, call, text, and scan documents with it all day long. I would say the rhodium 1600mah battery would get me to about 9-930 before needing to put it on the charger or replacing the battery. With two batteries you can't go wrong. If you are dying in the afternoon to early evening don't expect this battery to last you till midnight because that's unrealistic. Stock this phone has several applications that access the internet and cell phone towers constantly so if you consider what it is done the battery life is quite good, especially compared to my fiance's droid.

This is what I use because I can charge my phone, mp3 player, bluetooth headset and my battery operated lighter (don't ask was a gift) and never have to pull it in and out of the socket. You can plug a unpowered usb hub and charge several at once. And then you always have your data cable on you.

Battery Charger for my i9000m

I bought a momax 2700mah battery and Now i'm not 100% sure that the battery will charge via my phone, even if it does. it'd be nice to charge my stock battery for backup.
I'm looking into : Wall Charger
and this thing: Usb Charger thing.
I'm not really sure what to get tbh.
if it's the same voltage as your stock battery, I don't see a reason not being able to charge using the phone.
Anyway, it seems that both will work.
Also please make sure that you keep the replacement battery charged, meaning that if you're not using it make sure to recharge it once a month.
These batteries can break down if their inner voltage drops below a certain threshold.
the sgs has been known to detect some batteries as non genuine and won't charge them.
I buy a 2430MAh batery and it works fine with me. It have the same voltage of the original 3.7!

I've read that it is detrimental to the battery's life to store it while fully charged, just as it would be to store it while dead.
Since we're giving differing advice, I would suggest the OP look it up himself.

It seems to be hit or miss to whether or not the sgs knows it's not a genuine battery.. maybe it's a slight difference of voltage that triggers it, and it seems that it's the cheaper batteries that trigger it and the "oem" ones.

I've heard both, but going by my retail experience with these types of batteries. Most come precharged anywhere between 30-70%, so I can only guess that that is around the preferred charge percentage for maximum life of the battery as batteries don't move all too fast from the shelves. Heck my sgs had 70% off the start.

Want extra battery life? Simple answer is to buy a spare battery!

I spent days, even months trying to make my battery last longer and looking for portable chargers to carry around with me just incase I needed it.
I then realised I should just buy another battery, I have no idea why I had never thought of this before.
So a few months ago I purchased a refurbished genuine battery from eBay for only £4. The only problem now was the trouble of keeping one battery charged while using another. I then found a desktop charger which can charge the battery without the phone (link below)
I use this one
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Battery-Desktop-Charger-Cable-HTC-DESIRE-HD-/290594769249
This one could also be very useful
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HTC-DESIR...DUAL-DOCK-STATION-STAND-DESKTOP-/320793954500
It will automatically stop charging the battery when full, but will still consume alot of electricity if left plugged in.
I've been using this method for about 6 months now with no problems whatsoever.
Now whenever my battery goes dead whilst I'm out, I just simple switch batteries and I have full charge again. It takes 2 minutes to swap batteries, no trouble at all, and a battery isn't too big to carry around, I keep mine in my back pocket or in my wallet.

People want to have ONE piece.
They want to be able to charge the phone when it needs to be charged, but they don't want to look at the percentage every five minutes and fear that the battery will be dead after a day.
Thus they want a battery with more juice.
A lot of people have skins for their phones to protect it and keep the resell value high. Those people might even consider to buy a powerskin which would give them an extra 1500mAh (at a price of course, but that's price vs. convenience).
Others know how to preserve their preciously mAhs.
Normally the phone should drain your battery by 1% to 1.5% every hour. That means it can run in standby and wait for calls and texts for up to 4 days.
Since you normally use the phone at least a bit, you should be able to keep it running on one charge for two days.
The last resort is to keep multiple batteries.
It can happen that you forget the spare. It can happen that you forget to charge the spare. It can happen that it's just not possible to swap batteries because you are standing outside in the dark.
There are just so many points why you would want to try and extend your phones live before you carry around a spare.

I prefer to carry a spare. Takes only a couple of hours to charge, and I always put it in my wallet straight after its charged. It's the cheapest option and imo its the best option. Better than a big bulky cover with a battery inside it that also costs a bomb.

I want one battery too.
I bought mugen power 1500 mAh. It's better, but still not for all day heavy use...
So i order htc Evo 3d with 3600 extended mugen power battery with spare cover.
The external charger thing is awesome. I always have a fresh battery available. Super cheap too. I have 4 batteries, enough to leave one at work, in the car, and at home.

It does seem the easiest and the cheapest option. I tried larger batteries and portable chargers, but none of them would make the battery last as long as I needed it to.
But now having a spare battery with a desktop charger is the best option for me, it cost me less than £10 for the genuine battery and desktop charger, and all I have to do when my battery is dying, is simply replace the battery. Less than 2 minutes later I have full charge. It's not hard, and it's not expensive, I just don't understand why people chose very expensive, and less effective options when this seems the most effective as it's twice as much juice, and it's the cheapest option too, extremely cheap.
The only downside is if you forget to take the spare battery out with you, but I got used to putting it in my wallet or my jeans pocket straight after it has charged. Some people say it's a stupid option because you may forget to take it out with you, but I could argue saying people with portable chargers could forget to take them out with them too. The way I see it is, you get so used to not forgetting to take your phone out with you, everyone checks to make sure they have their phone with them before they go out, and after a week or 2 you finally get used to taking the battery out too. When I first got the spare battery I did sometimes forget to take it out with me, but after a week I got use to checking I had the battery with me, as well as the phone.
My checks are... Wallet, keys, phone, battery, go

I bought a portable charger for £24 from Amazon, and it's proved really handy for me. It's a 7000mah Tecknet and can charge two devices at once as comes with loads of adapters. Although the spare battery is a good solution it's only a solution for that one device. A portable charger will also charge your back up or 2nd phone, mp3 player, and any other phone you buy in the future. It is as big as the phone so it's easily pocketable. I've considered carrying it in my boxers just to see the look on peoples faces when I unzip my jeans and plug my phone into my crotch. I've also been meaning to test exactly how many charges it does but it's at least 3.

I've got a NewTrent 5000mAh power pack, and it's good for - about - 3 charges. Not easy to be precise about that, since no accumulator maintains and returns 100% of its capacity, but 5000mAh is more than enough.
I use it for mountainbiking when I want to record a track and also communicate my position for 4-7 hours, without having to stop, lose a few minutes and change batteries.
Different solutions will be valid for different needs, but this is easy to charge and easy to use.
And it cost me about €20 off Amazon, which is a lot less than an OEM/Mugen battery.

The only battery that will increase capacity is the Mugen 1500mAh battery. There are a couple of threads already in this forum on this battery.
All the ebay batteries offering the world are, let's say, misleading the consumers.
The Mugen battery are less reliable, also even if its 1500mAh, it may discharge much quicker than our original battery.

How can it have more mAh than the original if it discharges quicker?
Maybe you should think about that for a bit.

and for my case, it lasts longer then stock batt.

External Battery Charger (High Capacity) - Info Needed!

Hey one and all,
Now I know there are already a few threads with some external battery chargers but a few are quite outdated and it's quite a pain looking through them all so I've been a little lazy and started this new thread.
Basically im currently using the ZeroLemon 7500 extended battery, which with my heavy usage lasts 2 days which is fine by me. I am now starting to get bored with my mini brick and would like to downsize to a 3000mAh battery so as to be able to use stock sized cases, but invest in a high capacity external battery charger. Something in the range of 12000mAh or thereabouts.
Ive searched amazon and google and seen countless brands and sizes and some with extra functions like wifi file transfer / wifi hotspot / sdcard reader etc. My main interest is for the charging, optional extras are just a bonus. Ive had my fair share of fakes from china / hong kong which although super cheap do tend to lack staying power.
I want something that will keep its charge, that has a high capacity to enable me to charge a 3000mAh battery 3-4 or more times and that i can charge fully overnight between 12-16 hours.
Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated, I dont want speculation on products that are out there as i have searched loads and read reviews on what i can. I would just like to hear from people who have similar wants and needs to myself that have used certain products and can give any recommendations.
Muchos Gracias in advance :good:

There are no higher capacity stock sized batteries, its usually fake or over rated. If it exists, Samsung should have produced it already. Better get a power bank to extend your usage.

You mistitled the thread. It's external battery pack, power pack, etc. Not charger. Battery packs do charge the phone but "external battery charger" mostly refers to those wall-chargers on which you put the battery to charge directly out of the phone.

Again ... I appreciate your input and willingness to make a point however if you had read what the guy put, regardless of my thread title, he was talking about extended stock size batteries, whereas the title is still pretty accurate for what I want .... An "external" pack to "charge" the "battery". And secondly the title I feel is pretty relevant, but even if it wasn't all you need to do is read my post to understand exactly what i wanted.
Please don't feel the need to take time out of your day to say I did something wrong when in fact you have done exactly the same as the first guy and countless other people by just not reading.
Thank you.
P.s. external battery charger as a description does not restrict itself to just wall chargers at all. External could be referring to a battery charger that can be taken outside its usual confines of somewhere like a house or building and used externally / outside where there is no access to a socket.
Thanks again.

Anyway back on topic (don't post in a thread unless you have something useful to say )... I've ordered one and it should be arriving on Monday so I will let you know how it goes
I have a 10000 mAh EasyAcc. Purchased from Amazon, 28 euros.
It is quite slim (similar size as S4, double the thickness) and not very heavy.
I have already used it a couple of times and I am very happy with it. I can charge 2 phones at once, and the charging seems similar like from a normal power cord (got from 10 to 50 in about 30mins).

To be honest, power bank is pretty handy at times but please note that it takes time to charge your phone thus you need to carry your phone with the powerbank on the move which will be even heavier than your zerolemon battery alone. :good:
I've been using the PowerGen 9000mAh since August last year. It is a good size to carry in your pocket.
It has dual USB outputs plus an attached Micro USB cable that shares the 2 amp output. I like the dual output because I can charge it fast with a 2 amp port that will charge my phone a good 60% in an hour or so, or leave it on the .6 amp port over night and only have the battery pack drop 25%, or charge 2 or even 3 devices at the same time. I really like that it has an attached cable.
I can get a good 3 full charges of my S4 from it.
I mainly use it when traveling. If I am not going to be using it for a while, I discharge it to about 50% and it will stay there for months at a time. This is good practice for any LiPo battery not being used. They basically last forever at that charge level.
I also carry a spare OEM battery with me all the time, which is why I don't carry the battery pack often.

Ah, sorry about that. I was thinking about the internal battery.
Anyways, I'm using a Yoobao 7800MAh Power Bank. Its quite well known in the Asia region (like in the PH), can charge my S4 2-3 times, and quite handy (not that heavy).

What external batteries are good for Note 4?

What juice packs are good out there?
ZeroLemon should have a battery out by December.
Never understood why anyone would use an external battery pack to charge a phone with removable battery (unless you absolutely can't shut down for a few seconds to change a battery). Just swap out battery and you have 100% charge instantly. No charge time, no wait. Way more efficient process, and way less clunky.

Almost everyone have a case that clam everything so tight that its super hard to remove to change the battery.
For me I go naked. Yah I got 2 extra battery to change out easily. No need external bank.
I have an Otterbox Defender case and it's pain taking off the cover, then the case, then taking the back off swap batteries just to put it all back together, it's just not worth the hassle. I have 3 kids and there are only so many outlets in a minivan so portable battery packs are convenient, just plug in and your good for another 10 to 12 hours or more. I just bought a 20,000 mah battery for $34.99. You can shop around you can usually find a good one on sale, it all depends on what you want and how much you're willing to spend. Gorilla Gadgets, LimeFuel, Unu all make good batteries.
Even with my one-piece Tech 21 TPU case I still don't wanna have to yank it off multiple times a day. I got a nice 4000mAh battery pack with a built-in flashlight and charge meter at Big Lots for $15. Used it for the first time the other day and it charged my phone really fast and fits nicely in my purse.

What's your juice pack?
I'm waiting for a battery pack that is adaptive quick charging compatible... I'm sure the 2A battery packs are more than fast enough but might as well take advantage of everything we have...

Yes, i need the juicepack for when i can't get off a call or webinar. It's winter and we'll be wearing thick jackets and coats. Might as well make those clothing more useful.

It's a Uniden
I use the anker 16000 mah astro e5 external battery. It charges fast for a portable battery and like others said I use it for when I can't take out my batter. Like when I'm watching a movie and don't want to have to turn off my phone mid movie or when I go hiking all day and I am tracking my hike and don't want to interrupt the GPS and my hiking track. It also has the iq charging port so it knows how much charge to give to your phone. I've tried a lot of portable batteries and this is by far the best one. You can get it in amazon.

Because I change my phone every 6 months, but have been using my 10.000 mah battery for a few years
I will replace it when powerbanks with quick charge are out.
I would recommend a Zendure™ A2 Portable Charger 6000mA... I am waiting for mine.
I've accumulated several over the years. I had good experiences with Anker and EasyAcc.
Anker actually replaced a defective battery that I had for over a year.
Anker 2nd Gen Astro 3
these are perfect for any device really, http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00CEZBKTO
have had one in my glove box of my car for over a year and saved me numerous times
Don't waste money on a external battery pack for a phone with a replaceable battery. Just get the official battery kit. It's easier and more efficient to swap out the battery every morning/night or when needed. I haven't plugged my phone into a charger for over 3 weeks. 0 to 100% in less than a minute. And in those emergency cases I have car and home chargers on deck.
