Hi guys, what are the best phones that I can get for AT&T with unlocked bootloaders? It's ok if the phone doesn't have the bootloader unlocked now as long as it can be in the near future. I was going to get the AT&T galaxy s5 until I saw that you couldn't unlock the boot loader. I really need a rooted phone and AT&T has the best service in my area. What are my best options?
Thanks everyone

Hi
I would like to root my att s2 lte phone (gingerbread v3.2.6 ) which has been unlocked by someone I paid.
I was wondering if there's a safe rooting method that would not touch the unclocked state as I don't want to pay again for unlocking.
thanks
If it's unlocked, it will remain unlocked no matter how you root, or what you flash. as long as they put in the carrier unlock/subsidy code, it will never relock itself.
Thanks!
But do you know the best method to safely root 2.6.35.11 sky rocket?
I smell another brick. Another brick in the wall.
Sorry for such a noon question but I have always owned Samsung phones. I am looking at a HTC M8 on swappa and need to know the latest firmware that this phone can have where an unlocked boot loader is obtainable. I have a Galaxy S5 but was looking for the best Verizon phone out there with a unlocked boot loader to play with.

Hi guys,
I need some clarification re: carrier unlocking and how it works.
I recently purchased a carrier unlocked G920T, and I was going to start messing with custom roms/kernels and other goodies. My question is: Will the phone revert back to being carrier locked if I do a factory reset or if I unlock the bootloader and flash custom roms?
I'm not a T-Mobile user, so I can't get another unlock code from them.
Thanks!!

Once device is unlocked, it'll stay unlocked.
For all the SM-920xxx variants, which are able to get full root & unlocked bootloader
There are so many threads with conflicting information scattered about, so I am just going to ask...
If I want an S6 (SM-G920xx) to use on AT&T but do not want to get the actual AT&T SM-G920A because of lack of root and whatnot, which model should I go for that will allow me to gain full app/abd root as well as unlocked bootloader?
Thank you.
You're not going to get an unlocked bootloader, but if you want root, your best bet in the US will be either getting the T-Mobile or Verizon variant. Verizon's is unlocked out of the box, T-Mobile you'd have to get unlocked from T-Mobile. T-Mobile's is also missing one of the bands that ATT uses for coverage, but it lacks carrier branding on the back--if you use a skin or a case, this isn't important--, and the G920F is what you want if you're getting an international model.
I've paid twice to have it unlocked no one can do it it's blacklisted from att but I've had the phone for ever so idk pleaee help I'll even pay
I don't believe you can unlock the AT&T version to be used with other carriers since the bootloader cannot be unlocked and believe possibly same with the Verizon version. Only the Tmobile & Sprint permit unlocked bootloaders. I could also be wrong in terms of usability with other carriers even if the bootloaders are locked. For instance my current phone it's a Verizon prepaid Moto E4 that was unlocked for use on Tmobile despite the bootloader still locked.
If you only say "unlock", I'll understand it in 2 ways:
- unlock the bootloader
- unlock carrier
1. Unlock bootloader
You can easily unlock bootloader if you have T-mobile or Spriny one. It's harder for Verizon or ATT. Just google and ask team Sunshine if Z2F was supported.
2. Unlock carrier
I dont know much about this case
