Can anyone check if the Huawei Mate 7 can do screen mirroring to a smart/internet TV using miracast or other screen mirroring technologies that the phone has?
I use this feature a lot to show photos, videos and other content from my phone to my family members, so it is an important feature for me. I checked the Huawei's website and it did not say that the phone has miracast features built it. I emailed to Huawei also got no replies.
If anyone has Mate 7, hope you can test or confirm if the Mate 7 can mirror its screen to a TV wirelessly, that would be really great. Thanks.
Yes, works very well.
Samsung smart TV , connects to quickly
Thanks for the confirmation. Appreciate it.
Can you confirm how can i use Miracast on Huawei mate 7?

Same here, works beautifully. I use Samsung smart tv to watch anime from the phone.
You must remember to use phone's default video, gallery or music app if you want it to work.
For those who dont know how to do this. I'll share procedures I did to make it work on my smart tv. I have an lg smart tv. I'll post some pics below.
1. You should pair your device with the tv. Nfc would be the fastest.
2. Make sure you and the tv are connected on the same Internet network. It wont work if you are not connected.
3. From the shortcut settings, tap the multi screen.
4. Once done. It would show your device and the tv's name. Tap on the tv and it would show on the tv a blue screen "air sharing, your phone has connected to the tv.
5. Go to the videos app. The stock app from huawei. And play any video you have there and it should be displayed on your tv.
Happy watching!!! I hope I helped.

My TV (LG 55LB650V) gives two connection options. One over DLNA (same icon as @Easy Computer screen capture) and one over WiFi. Both work fine but I found over WiFi faster when transmiting so I always choose this option.
Screen mirroring with google chromecast works also great!

I was basically looking fox one who would have a Samsung smart TV and this Huawei phone. Do you experience the same quality when doing screen mirroring? This one thing is holding me back from getting rid of my Samsung phone, the screen mirroring is wonderful between my note 3 and Samsung smart TV. Can you basically screen mirror with the Mate 7 whatever goes on on your mobile screen?
agree with elroy944
i am also using chromcast with mate 7 and it perfectly works

Hi, The multi Screen option is missing in the Lollipop update. Is there anyway to re-enable it?
Same here. This option disappeared on lollipop update
Sent from my HUAWEI MT7-TL10 using XDA Free mobile app

I don't seem to have the ability to cast my screen to the chromecast.... Went to the app on my new edge and no longer have the option... Anyone with a chromecast and an edge have it?? Kinda sucks.. Had it on my note 3..
Sorry, I didn't realize that you wanted to broadcast the screen. I send movies and stuff to the screen from the chrome browser or apps that show movies.

It's not currently supported. search for mirrorenabler.
Thanks I will check that out.
I'm having the same issue on my AT&T Note Edge. It is not on the list of supported Chromecast screen mirroring phones but it seems as though it should work regardless. Unfortunately MirrorEnabler requires root and I dont think the AT&T Note Edge has been rooted yet.
I tried this today. Not working. It just causes Cc to show black screen.
Chromecast is working great on my Sprint Edge, no problems at all.
I have CC and it works fine on my rooted edge for TMO
AT&T Note Edge. Been using it since day 1 . Never had an issue with it. I downloaded the Chromecast app and was working.

I wanted to check and see if everyone is talking about the same thing. Screen casting is not standard issue on the Chromecast yet, so can those of you who say you have it please confirm that you are able to cast ANYTHING you see on your phone to your TV? I don't have this function with my chromecast, and I never have on any of my devices
As I type this, it is being casted to my tv...I'm on tmo note edge, nk3 rooted.
Until you att folk get some sort of safestrap or another towelroot, not much can be done. Unless Google chooses to support it, but it's unlikely considering the limited amount there are.

Hey all!
So today I found this app which should let browse the web. The TinyWeb - which is the name - is nicely written and intuitive application with english menu and set of bookmarks from the beginning. Also it is a standalone app.

Seems awesome? Yes. BUT there is this little problem - it cannot access network for me. I tried using Gear S2 classic with connection to the phone (LTE) and without phone (Gear's WiFi). But it doesn't work.
Does it work for You?
I AM NOT THE AUTHOR OF THE APP NOR ADVERTISING IT
You have to disable bluetooth connection with wifi connection on. Works fine once you do that.
It works for me, but only with a direct Wifi connection (not trough the phone).
Same here. Seems like this may be related to that of below. Maybe Gear Manager for generic Android (not samsung) is missing the bluetooth / host-wifi bridge as there is no setting for it on my Xperia.
stackoverflow.com/questions/33849806/tizen-standalone-wearable-app-with-internet-access
I get an error when trying to install.
W0:WO:-1005
Where do I find this? I don't see it in the play store.
@Firehead thanks for the tip! It does work now, cool
@mills23 it is in the Samsung's shop for Gear S2. Maybe not available for Your region or something.
I am using gear s2
And in it also tinyweb is not working on both Bluetooth and WiFi
Seems to only work with wifi on however I don't need to disable bluetooth but would be better if it did work via bluetooth hopefully in a future update. Also was a pain to log into Facebook, most of the time the keyboard popped up but then disappeared after like a second and the times it did stay up I'd type my email (which isn't a quick thing to do on the S2 keyboard) to find it didn't actually enter anything in the text box. Though finally did get myself logged in but then when I went to go on it later it didn't keep me logged in so still a few issues.
Also would like if when zoomed in I could pan right the way to the corners of the webpage.
It works on s2 gear 3g in 3g mode. I'm impressed with this app considering the limitations of the tiny circular screen.
Props to the dev!
I installed it on my gear and then someone try to login to my emails account and etc.. Maybe by brute force. I changed my password everywhere for sure. So be carefulle after instalation of this app.
Could someone made a video showing TinyWeb in action for other users please .
It works now with the BT version, connection, so no need to switch to wifi only.
Was able to read the news and go on facebook. No brute force so far.
TinyWeb is no longer in the app store, is it unsafe to use then?
Is there any place/way to get a copy of tinyweb?

If someone explain me how to, i can extract the app.

Question
How do hoy have Facebook and these apps on your gear s2? Are there another Store for gear s2?
I had the NOTE 5 and now the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus.
I went to the Samsung store and most MODES ARE missing.
Missing MODES that I had on my NOTE 5 Sprint US.
Live Broadcast.
Shot & More ( Eraser, Best shot, burst)
Dual camera ( the S8 version is static not resizable)
Virtual Tour.
Video collage.
Interval shot.
Sound and shot.
Sure the camera works ok, but live broadcast was useful and the Shot and more Eraser was great to fix when people walks on your shot.
Supposedly this is the most expensive Galaxy Phone and we get an unpolished camera app.
I mean the NOTE 5 had already Nougat, just port that Samsung.
Probably someone will try to port it, I ask because I have no dev experience.
I wonder, Is the International version missing this MODES? Anyone knows how to port the NOTE 5 camera to get live broadcasting?
Thanks.
Go into Galaxy Apps and you can download Dual Camera
As for the rest I don't see it on my T-Mobile version
Here's the list I got from my phone.

any way to get them to add it back on. that sucks
They removed it cause you can live broadcast directly from the YouTube app now. Edit*Scratch that you need over 1000 subscribers for now.

Nope
It's an annoying omission, and no compelling reason that I can see. We were using the Live Broadcast selection on a Note 5 to live stream our Sunday celebration, but having traded in the Note 5 to get the big discount on the Note 8, the setting is no longer available. Yes, you can live stream to YouTube, but just checked at you need 100 subscribers to do MOBILE live streaming. We certainly don't have that big an audience. You can still record through the app and it will upload for viewing -- just not in real time. Again, though... why?
Maybe try sideloading it?
via APKmirror
is there any way of porting the Shot and More Mode
Can just use facebook live
Dear All,
I bought a oneplus7 not that long ago, and I wanted to play with the so called desktop mode. Idea is, back from work, to put the phone on a dock, being able to use my tv for browsing web with a wireless keyboard/mouse, maybe watch stupid yt video etc. Replacing my old laptop for very basic tasks.
The idea is to buy this 30euros dock station so I can have a convenient way to get internet on my tv :

So before buying any hardware stuff I wanted to know if some of them already played with this mode, does it worth giving a try or is it just too early ?
thx
Nico
So I got a Oneplus 7 and currently running Android 10. I enabled the Desktop Mode in Developers and have tried it out a little bit. For me the it isn't very usable. It is stuck in a certain resolution and I want to change it but haven't figured it out. A guy (who is busy right now until the end of the month) has been working on a launcher to use called Flow Desktop found in Google Play Store. It does have some promises and would love to see his app become more than just a concept right now.

You need the secondscreen app to change the resolution.
BTW it seems that if you want to use [email protected] there's no compatible hub yet.
So i bought a simple adapter and BT keyboard

I don't need 4k. 1080p would be nice. Do you have an app to recommend?
I've got no recommendation, Desktop Mode community is not really active for the moment. (Or a least it's just the beginning)

With no responses. Sad.
Anyone able and willing to create a modified version of the OnePlus Launcher with the following code implemented?

I have a couple Amazon Fire HD8 (2018) and was sad to learn, just now, that while the older devices had the ability to do screen mirroring/display mirroring this feature was removed for "newer" devices.
Is there any way to get this functionality back? I've used Fire Toolbox to get google services onto my tablet along with a couple other things, but on the handful of mirroring apps I've looked at it tells me "This device is not supported." I'm uncertain if this is a hardware issue (such as the kindle lacking a chip that can do wireless casting) or a software issue (where Amazon removed a specific system file). Has anyone found a way to fix this?

You can mirror your Fire tablet screen with a Google Cast devices such as Chromecast and Android TV (Chromecast built-in).
1. Download Google Home app on Google Play store
2. After its installed, open Google Home app.
3. Make sure you have connected to the same network.
4. Select your device you want to mirror?
