Dear all, I just want to know,
is it possible to connect normal USB keyboard to PDA through, let's say a kind of connector ?
Sorry for my silly question
not an usb keyboard as himalaya dont have the hardware to be an usb host
which mean it can only be connected to over usb not connect itself
there are keyboards which use IR and bluetooth which works ok
and keyboards which use normal rs232 serial which is also connected to the button connector of himalaya

So I've had my Galaxy tab OTG for about a month now and was great until just a little while ago.
It always worked before but now anything connected to it doesn't work.
When I plug the otg in my device it recognizes that the otg is connected but the usb devices connected to it don't work at all.
For example, I connect a mouse to it and the pointer doesn't come up as well as the mouse light isn't even on.
Please help me, I really need a solution I use this otg for usb for school and also to connect xbox controllers.
Thanks if u can help
Sometimes i have the same problem, first clean your OTG with alcohol and toothbrush and your note 10.1 port when it is turned off.
If the problem persist just take it easy and just take out your OTG and reconnect it, try not to connect the OTG with a device attach to it, detach any devices of the OTG and then the OTG from the tablet, wait a few seconds and connect the OTG again and then wait a few seconds more until the Note recognize the OTG and connect the device to the OTG.
Its get a little tricky sometimes just be patient.
Hi I made this thread to find out how I can get USB OTG to work. I have cm 11 s3 mini and want to control my phone by a remote and plug ? flash drives in but have no idea how this works. Also if you could provide a link for a USB OTG cable it would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Hi
Its just plug and play. You plug in the USB OTG cable to the phone's micro USB port and on the other end its a female USB port (the same like in your laptop or pc). So you just put in a pen drive and it will get detected on its own. You can open a file manager app and access it, or you can access it directly from any of your other apps (for example if you use MX player for seeing videos then the pen drive videos will automatically load up in the app as well).
To control your phone remotely I am guessing you mean keyboard/mouse?
If you plug in a mouse, a cursor shows up the next second and you have a working mouse. Same with a keyboard, works on its own. If you want to use both together, you need a wireless keyboard and mouse so that you can plug in the dongle to the otg cable, and then both the keyboard and mouse will instantly start working.
If you have a PS3 controller you can even connect that to your phone and use it to play many games - but this does not work via plug and play, you need to follow instructions to set this up and you can search on xda or google for that.
If you search USB OTG on amazon or ebay you will find loads of places to buy it from in your country.

Although the title is self explanatory, I've been trying to connect a wireless mouse to my phone with an OTG adapter but my phone thinks it's a keyboard.
I've tried it with another mouse and it works fine.
I want to know if I can fix this to use it as an actual mouse.

If it is a wireless bluetooth mouse, you might be able to pair directly to the device like any other bluetooth device.
Or, connect the mouse via OTG then go to system settings>language&input and see if there is a setting somewhere in your input settings that can manage the mouse connection as a mouse.
