There is nothing that the XDA members can do to help.. It's a physical damage.. Repair it from the service center...

LG rep supervisor(not bleed, just lighting issue)?

Rep supervisor said that the reason for the yellow tint was from a light and it wasn't bleeding. Rep said bleeding is liquid rainbow color and not to worry. The issue is being looked into howv the tint wont get worse . What do u guys think?. Is this the answer we been looking for....post your answer..lets get screenshots from everyone...so we can compare just attach screenshot and upload
i had a tmobile sales person told me the bleeding was a software issue. not hardware. and lg is working on fixing it.. that's when i stopped takign them seriously
Rainbow effect? Lmfao I hope you don't think that is a correct answer... backlight bleeding is when light escapes creating a glowing effect on dark screens..... rainbowing comes from a bad light in the phone or TV that causes leaking of ALL the colors in the spectrum through. Light backgrounds or screens..... if you really got that "answer" from a LG Rep God help us all

lol LG is doing an incredible job with their answers
in the email they sent to me it said "use automatic brightness, this should solve the issue"

LG needs to own up and stop making random guess's why the screen is all jacked. Up...... it's because faulty quality checks and poor manufacturing

That's the lamest excuse I've ever heard. It is so obvious that light isn't suppose to ''bleed'' through the LCD panel. It is hardware issue and there is not way to fix it with software updates. However I believe that the random reboots are software related, so I would tell them to work on that fix software-wise and to replace our defective phones with ones that don't bleed!
Remember everyone the tint is only on startup black screen and only is on peripherial corners...its never. In middle ...makes ya think

I had an issue like this on my samsung tv, i had some light clouds on the corners of my tv lcd panel, so i took a screw driver and loosened up the screws on the casing of the tv and the clouds and bleeding went away, im gonna try that with my phone and see if that may work.
P.S. In case anybody wants to know what tv i have, its a ln52a650 samsung.
I was actually thinking about doing the same thing. It somewhat makes sense.

Yes, its obviously from the backlight LED, as there is inadequate light barrier between the point source and the edge of the LCD. The phone is a tight sandwich of parts and if the assembly of the backlight, its diffuser backplane and the LCD are off just a fraction of a millimeter, you'll get corner leakage.
Based on my experience with repairing phones, it may be easy to fix with a small shim or a piece of tape over the corner LED.

Yellow spots on my display

I have square yellow spot on bottom of screen above touch sensitive keys and I can see it on white and grey screen color. Yesterday I also notice round yellow spot in upper right corner of display and it is slightly less noticable than one on the bottom but still annoying. What to do, send phone to service, will they repair this, will it help and is there any help with this. I read that I need to set brightness to 75-80 percent, it sometimes helps and sometimes dont because I still see yellow spots. Crazy. Is there anyone with this kind of situation and how do you guys handle it?
Thanks.
I have too...

[Q] white dots on screen in black background, also when watching a video

Hi,
I am seeing 2 single white dots on left side of my phone screen. I like Galaxy R beacuse of its specification. But same time I was worried about its screen size as I am too used to keep phone on left front pocket of my jeans pant. When I drive 2 wheeler I see sometime it gets pressurized. I don't know how else I can keep this phone with me.
So the question is, did my phone create any dead pixels just because of it might have got some pressure? Anyone can help to know are those really dead pixels and how to fix them?
I can only see them when camera switch on/off and display for a moment becomes black or when watching video. Otherwise with full colour background wallpaper, dots never be seen.
Well as we have lcd screen, i dnt thinkk that problem like dead pixels in amoleds can be happen here (correct me if i m wrong)
try flashing stock rom and wipe cache and dalvik cache, may be it help. Do update ur prob resolved or not.

i don't think they are dead pixels, it may be because of dust.. similar thing happened to my friends Optimus One because of dust..
First let's confirm its not due to the background of the picture that was on your screen.
- Type *#0*# => Press Vibration(Black) => Now check if there are any White spots.
- If there are white spots on the screen then take it to the service center and have it checked, if its just dust as guys above me have mentioned then they'll clean it.
- If you can't see any white spots then it was the background that you were talking about which had white spots & nothing is wrong with the screen.
Hope this helps.

I have a similar white spot... well, i am saving that one, given that the R is now out of stock, if we dont see an ICS build or if samsung says they can't get to update it to ICS, i am gonna take it to the samsung centre and ask them to change the screen as i am getting that white spot and because of no stocks, i am sure i will be getting my refund
Even I had a white pixel on the left hand side of the screen on my SGR. You can observe it only while having a dark background. I read online that its pretty common so I left it.
You can try an android app - "Pixellator" (?!).. I am not sure if thats the name.. It has been made specifically for such white pixels.. Its dint work for me though... But no harm in trying

Thanks for this information. I was not knowing such hidden interface. I did above test and found no white spots. I am actually confused now. I do have scratch guard on my screen. Don't know but those 2 white spots can be seen randomly only when black background is on screen.

Then it's the background's problem .
I know CM7 has such a system app called CMWallpapers.apk , and they have the choice of setting it as "No Wallpaper" . Can you try extracting that from the CM7 ROM and giving it a try ? Don't know if it works though *shrug*
This was sent from a Galaxy Ace. Problem?

Switch on the camera and cover your camera & manually turn off the flash. Now take a picture it would be completely black.
Do update on the progress here.

I can now see those 2 very small white spots at the same place. Do such spots are problematic in future and should be fixed at service center soon? Do they will fix this under warranty?

i had my Samsung tablet 8.9 since January and all of a sudden i noticed a white spot on the screen. it appears as gray when the device is on and the screen is white and it appears as white when the device is off or the screen is black. has anyone encountered the same problem? what is it? and why it suddenly appeared? how to solve it?
it is a normal thing. almost all lcd screens have approx. 0.03% dead pixel in whole screen even if it is new. there is no point to be worried about this.

Yellow tinge in display

Hello friends,
Today only i have received my Tab2 7.0 and i am finding some yellowish tinge in display especially in White areas. Anyone else faced this problem ?
Thanks
remove the plastic screen protector, make sure it's not dead pixel (mostly dust inside the plastic screen protector)
if it's dead pixel then you should claim RMA warranty to samsung service center
Oh.....can this Plastic Screen Protector has so much effect
No as yet haven't noticed any dead pixels. Warranty i think is void because of flash counter

dead pixel doesn't means it's muse be black color, (if it's black without emitting light/RGB-color, then it's probably just a dust)
I've dead pixel in my laptop and the color is Reddish-Blue when displaying white scene on monitor.
The pixel contain 3 color (Red, Green, Blue), so in my case should be the Green-subpixel is died.
In your case (Yellowish tinge), probably because the Blue-subpixel is dead.
because Yellow color is produced by combining Red & Green color only (without Blue)
White color is produced by combining Red-Green-Blue subpixel all together, so you must test your screen under white scene (eg: in browser, white text editor, or program can detect dead pixel on the android market)
Oh man ! You got some in-depth knowledge about the subject.
Can you plz tell name of that app ?
Thanks once again !
I also have this yellowish tint display issue on my new tab 2 7.0. Most noticeable in white backgrounds, such as Settings or in Play store, or in the web browser. It's pretty yellowish. And overall the display looks washed out. I thought this is a PLS display..? Same as original galaxy tab 10.1? My original Gtab 10.1 has a much vibrant colors, and this one is really washed out and again, the yellowish tint on white backgrounds.
Is this normal? Is this not a PLS display? Do I have a defective device? Should I exchange it for another one (I prefer not to if it's definitely normal, but will def do if this is not normal).
Thanks for your help!
Could someone please answer to my post?
Anybody who has the tab 2 7.0 must have answer to my question if they also have yellowish tint or not..more technical answer would be also helpful.
Thanks.
Anyone???
I'm debating on exchanging it or not as I'm going to the place I bought it tomorrow. I already have everything set up on this device, so want to know if is is actually defective screen.
Some reviews say that the screen is vibrant, while some others say that it is washed out or yellowish. One review says they hear people complaining that the screen has yellow hue, but they don't have it on their device. I don't know who's right..I did search on this forum, and saw other people complaining too, but not much replies in any of the threads and one person said it must be the screen protector, but I don't have any screen protector on.....
Any help would be appreciated.

If you don't like it, return it. Or, at least you could look at another unit at the store and see if it's consistent.

Z5 Display problems brightness/illumination

Hi all,
i got a problem with my display.
The brightness/illumination on display when displaying content with white background is from what I see not correct.
A certain part in the middle of my display is clearly more illuminated then the rest. But only when showing the color white.
I did the diagnosis test in the menus and here it occurred again.
Does anybody have the same issue?
Is this a display problem so I have to change my phone? Or is this just a calibration problem?
Thanks in advance
I have the same problem on my z5 Dual. White backgrounds and the screen brightness increases. Not sure why this is.

Does it do the same in manual brightness mode? If so, you probably got a faulty screen .

If so yes in manual mode too

I have exactly the same white spot on my black Z5, even in the same location. Very annoying, especially when scrolling through Facebook, Twitter and other apps with white background. On my iPhone 6S which I also use the screen is perfect.

You got a bright patch in the middle too - interesting. Maybe you could take this picture again vertically (without tilt & finger smudges) in a dark room ? I never saw 100% uniform white on any LCD & Amoled mobile screen, but yours don't look acceptable.

But this is definitely a defect screen. The bright patch in the middle is really annoying when scrolling
I returned mine today, the bright patch in the center together with all other issues was just too much. Got an S6 Edge+ instead, same weight but much larger and much better looking screen.

I'm in Singapore and on my second Z5 and there is still this unevenness in the backlight. The first set was more obvious and in the middle which was really irritating. This second one has two minor spots but they sort of form a line to the middle of the screen. It's kind of disappointing that the QC level of this product is so ****ty. Two straight out of shrink-wrapped boxes!
They are also from two revisions; the tray is different on both of mine... on the first set it was stupid with the microsim and sd slot on opposite sides meaning you had to slide one in half way to keep the sim card in before putting in the SD card. The second one made more sense with both the sim card and sd card on the same side.
I'm still pondering if I should bring it down to the telco to make another change...sigh.
guys my z5 had display but no backlight, I have bypassed the "V" and "A" both fuses still theres no backlight can anyone help?
