Android lollipop xposed installer - General Questions and Answers

Hy, I have lollipop installed on my HTC one, but it seems that I can't install xposed installer on my device at all. It says that it's not compatible with 21 sdk. Any ideas how I can make it work?

Xposed doesn't work with Lollipop. More specifically, it doesn't work with ART (Android Run Time), which Lollipop exclusively uses. It only works with Dalvik runtime, which is what prior versions run, although ART is optional in Kit Kat (and Xposed is incompatible with).

Xposed on 5.0.1

Has anyone had success installing xposed framework on the m8 running a stock rooted lollipop rom? I have tried multiple times following the guide in the xposed thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811 with no success.
It worked for me on adrenaline 2.1 but not on a couple of other roms I tried.

What were the steps you took to install it?
I opened xsposed installer >framework > reboot. I only downloaded a couple of modules but they work.

I downloaded the files from the link I posted above..
Install the xposed installer .apk
Reboot from within the installer and grant root privileges.
Flash the framework via TWRP
I have also tried to flash the framework first, install the .apk, and reboot from within the installer to grant root.
Neither way has worked for me.

I have it running on stock rooted, here are the steps I took.
Flashed the xposed arm zip file in TWRP
Installed the 3.0 alpha2 apk
Once installed I went into "framework" and hit soft reboot.
Once the phone was done I installed a module/made it active and soft reboot again.
I don't think you have to take these exact same steps but this is just what I did following a YT video. In "framework" it always says "Installation is only possible maunally via recovery for now." in red letters. That confused me into thinking it was not installed properly but all the modules I'm using are working fine.

I have tried to install this exact same way. After flashing the framework and installing the alpha .apk, I activated greenify and rebooted.
Upon launching greenify, I saw a yellow dialogue box that said auto hibernation service has stopped (auto hibernation worked fine before trying to use xposed) I attempted to enable the xposed features and a screen popped up telling me to install the xposed framework.
I have since restored my nand backup I made before flashing xposed, and greenify is back to auto hibernating, just cant use the xposed features.

Have you tried installing other modules? Looking around the greenify sections here on XDA seems it wasn't ready for 5.0, but there is a beta thread that you may want to take a look at.

I just found that beta thread, and I am now trying to install xposed again.
I also tried Xsense, and did not have any luck.
What modules are you using? I will activate them and test.

I reinstalled xposed, and updated greenify to beta 11. I also installed Sense 6 Toolbox beta. Everything seems to be working just fine.
My problem was using modules that were not updated to work with lollipop. Thanks for all your help!

Hide root for play store app "vipps"

Hello,
I'm trying to use an app from the playstore called "vipps".
It's from a bank in norway called DNB, and it let's you transfer money near instantly from one to another.
This app refuses to run on my phone because it's rooted and have a custom rom etc.
I'm running Xtrestolite Deodexed with the included alliance firmware.
I have read somewhere about Rootcloak Plus with Cydia (no idea what this really is, but i understood cydia is like app store for iOS jailbreaked phones?)
I'm wondering if this exsists on 5.0.2 lollipop (and how to get it / install it if it does), or if there is any other known way of bypassing this applications refusal to run on my device.
I'm on a SM-G920F (international version) if that helps.
Any tips / questions / help regarding this is most welcome and much appreciated!
- Renolz
Try searching for a Xposed Module that does this
I remember there was one for kitkat but i dont know whether or not its currently available for lollipop

I tried to get xposed, but it's not yet compatible with the S6 as far as i know.
Something about SDK version 21 and arm 64 (no idea what this is, but that was the error when trying to install it)

Cydia is for ios based devices and if s6 had xposed that module called root cloak will work for what you need it for. but since theres no xposed. You cant run it.
I second that!
I have the exact same problem! Please let me know if you find a way to bypass the app restrictions!
Same here:
Cyanogen OS 12.0, android 5.0.2, OnePlus One
Tried RootCloak plus app, add no.dnb.vipps app but still does not open.
I have the same issue with a Huawei running 4.4.4 Vipps by DNB does not work.. Xposed says that there is a known issue with the room installed. I deactivated the Resource hoocks, but it did not solve the issue.. BALLS!!

Hi,
I was able to fix the Vipps issue by using Rootcloak version 1.4 (not the newest one), and adding no.dnb.vipps to the list.
Works like a charm on SGS6
Hope this helps!
OPO CyanogenOS 12.1.1 Android 5.1.1 rootcloak vipps
I have a oneplus one With CyanogenOS 12.1.1-YOG7DAS2K1 and android version 5.1.1. The phone is rooted and I have twrp installed.
I used twrp to install Xposed framework 85 trough the link provided in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
Within the xposed installer app I downloaded the module RootCloak version 2.1.0
In rootCloak I added no.dnb.vipps (add/remove apps -> three dots -> add custom app -> write "no.dnb.vipps")
Now I can run vipps without any problems.
Vipps on OPO running cm14.1
Sorry to bring up an old thread.
I've been using this Norwegian bank app on cm12/cm13 with rootcloak for a while now without any trouble. Lately the app just crashed on login when using rootcloak so i decided to flash cm14.1 nightly and see if systemless root and magisk would do the trick instead. I flashed cm14.1, fully unrooted the phone, flashed magisk and phhs systemless root. I downloaded SafetyNet playground, and my phone passes all SafetyNet checks. I also downloaded pokémon GO to verify, and that works flawlessly. Vipps however, does not work... The app does not crash anymore, but i get the message "vipps doesn't support rooted devices".
It seems to me like the app detects that i'm running cyanogenmod. When my oneplus one was new, the app wouldn't work even though i had a locked bootloader and no root. I actually had to unlock bootloader, root, flash xposed and install rootcloak to get it working.
Is there any workaround for this problem? It seems to me that rootcloak did something more than just hide the root from the app. Is this correct? I can upload the .apk file for Vipps if that would be of any help. The app force closes before login with the message "Vipps doesn't support rooted devices", so i dont think region will be a problem.
I too am curious of this.
Is there a way to "fool" an app from checking if there is a custom ROM or original ROM?
I assume the app only checks ROM info, and perhaps that can be easily edited?

[MOD] Xposed Framework for Mediapad X2

Easy Android ROM Customization Through Xposed Framework
Here is Xposed Framework for the MediaPad X2. This allows for future customization of a lot of different things on our devices. Thanks to kpcheang2 for finding the original page with the download links.
Besides the usual customization we can do with Android launchers and Android widgets, we also love to try new features that available on custom ROMs. But custom ROMs can be unstable and buggy sometimes and the process to flash over to a new ROM is very time-consuming, especially if you need to restore your backup and app settings.
Through Xposed Framework, by just downloading and installing a ready-made module you can make modification (modules) to any element of the OS or the app itself without the need of flashing a new ROM. For example, if you ever need to skip YouTube ads on your android, download the module for that, install, enable and reboot your device for the effect to take place immediately.
Prerequisites:
-Unlocked bootloader
-Rooted
-TWRP Installed
-Be On B106 Or B109
Instructions:
First, install Xposed Installer by opening the apk and hitting install as you would any other app.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5I_q70mNuR4N29ueEwtalBVUE0/view?usp=sharing
Second, boot into TWRP and install the Xposed Framework:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5I_q70mNuR4cThvN2RkU2dOdkE/view?usp=sharing
After rebooting you will have working xposed framework on your phone. Open it up and in settings check "Disabled Resource Hooks" Now reboot once more. Now you need to find modules that work. There are modules for pretty much anything you want done to your phone. The problem is none of them support our X2 yet (or at least none that I've tried) This is just a start as I'm sure there will be modules coming out to support our devices. After installing a module go into Xposed Installer and into Modules and check the Module you want to use in there. Then restart your phone foe the module to take effect.

Thanks ! I plan to try out in a few days after I get myself up to B109.
goes into bootloop
goes into bootloop on stock b109 i had it running fine on kang vip
Bootloop, too
I'm using the 702L with ajsmsg's B109.
--- Edit:
With B106 by guduke also a bootloop
With B109 KangVIP I got the error "framework is installed but not active, please check logs" (these are empty)
Re-Install and/or Restarts takes no effects.
I'm giving up...
---
Please let us know with which configuration/build (whatever) you're able to run xposed. It's much more important for me then a "current" Android build. To ensure the right result, I suggest also to upload all relevant files to get your config.
Many thanks in advance.

Could you be more detailed about which 'resource hooks' are to be disabled? I suspect so my problems with exposed are tied with some settings. I am running B109 KangVIP debloated , but not so heavy as @ajsmsg78's.

You're right.
With deactivated resource hooks option, I can active the framework.
I also activated xprivacy but the module say's only "restart required" ... it doesn't work.
I'm so close to the target .... just one step left.
//Edit: After more installed modules, I was able to activate xprivacy successfully

in the xposed framework app settings you see the option just check it and your good to go
When I had the Ascend mate 2 I had edit the build prop to get xposed to work. I had to change the
" ro.config.hwtheme=2 change the 2 to 0 and reboot
I used apex launcher with that because it disables a few things.
does this work with b110?
I had a bootloop when I tried it, so if anybody already has it working with b100, I'll try it again.
Thanks - Wolfgang

We all have the same problems...
But Huawei's support for internation models are ... not existing. So we all want to upgrade our models to a 703L ROM to get new updates (like announced Android 6) and to improve our phones.
It was a hard and long way to unlocking, rooting and installing of the xposed framework. And I'd say, nobody will also make it possible for the "only-one" user, who wants to stay on a 701L ROM. There are too many restrictions, too many limitations and no further updates from huawei. I really don't see a reason to stay on this ROM. My 702L works fine with the 703L ROM.

LG L33L (LG Sunset): Flashing custom rom and recovery.

I am wondering how one would install CWM or TWRP to install Xposed Framework or maybe even Cyanogenmod on the LG Sunset (L33L). I tried the older Xposed APK which wasn't compatible with this phone. It reads "Xposed is not (yet) compatible with Android SDK version 21 or you processor architechture (armeabi-v7a)". This is what led me to learn that I needed version 3.0 which (from what i read) can only be installed via flash.
Help me please

My new LG Sunset deleted all the files for /system/app ? could you send them to me somehow? My phone is useless without those files
There is no way to do this at this time. Likely never. Wait for Xposed to update and stuff.

Xposed framework compatibility issue

I am running nexus 5 5.0 stock along with elementalx kernel.
I installed xposed installer from play store and then using twrp tried flashing the framework. The log stated installation to be successful.
But when I open up xposed installer app below is the image which shows the issue.
Xposed for versions later than Kitkat 4.4.4 isn't that easy to install. You'll have to find the appropriate zip and flash it through recovery, the installer app will not work. Make sure you uninstall it before flashing.
Besides, how did you install it from the Play Store if it isn't available there?
