Hi There,
I am in a crisis situation here. I have owned this Karbonn A1+ for about 10 months now. Never attempted anything as I dont use it majorly. Recently I rooted it with Z4root. It was successfull.
Later as i was going through the forums about Karbonn, found that there is a custom ROM (Xperia ROM) for it and hence went ahead in trying the same. Since then, the phone will not go beyond the Karboon Logo. I tried various methods by trying to flash the stock from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2279278
Even that didnt help. Screen is stuck at checking Baudrate but does nothings even after 30 min and I still have Karbonn logo on phone. then I found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405153
When I tried that the phone goes beyond the logo and gives a white screen and thats it. when i press the power button the screen goes off and on. so i am guessing the phone booted to OS but not giving me any thing to work on.
Meantime I learned how to create custom ROM. I built one but even that doesnt help as I am again stuck at the Karbonn Logo.
Presently I am able to go to CWM ver 6.0.3
The phones H/W ver is 4.0.0 and the S/W version is 1.0.6
Can somebody help me with the flashable version of Stock Rom or the Backup....

All you have to do (given your situation) is perform a complete wipe (using a custom recovery: in your case, CWM) before trying to install anything. Remember, you need to install the specified/correct Kernel to work with a given ROM.

Thanks for the reply. However I am well aware of wiping data before installing, and the same was done before trying the Xperia ROM. Presently I am in need of a Flash-able stock ROM or Custom ROM or even a backup that will work with the hardware and software versions I have....

Well, I hope you find what you are looking for. But I can say, after downloading the Xperia ROM for your device, I wasn't able to find a Kernel in it. As I said in the previous post, you need to install the specified/correct Kernel to work with a given ROM. Just remember that the next time you go ahead and flash something.

did you took complete backup before messing with it (using cwm)?
what is h/w and s/w version IN the phone and behind your mobile battery?

Thanks for replying back MAX. i did take a nandroid backup before flashing. however i failed to verify if it actually did it or not. when i screwed up and looked for restore files they werent there.

Hi Jay, My apologies if my previous statement sounded like a teenager. this thing is just driving me crazy as i never had any issues with other phones. i have rooted Motorola, samsung, htc and never faced any issues like this.
what you are saying about kernal totally makes sense, however i was under the impression that boot.img may contain this already and tried putting that file in the ROM and flashed it when it didnt work for first time. which again didnt help much. if you know how kernals works. Please tell me what to look for in them....

The problem is not on your behalf mate; it's just that the ROM you obtained didn't come with all the necessary/correct files. I also presume Karbonn is not a very big company (I've personally never heard of it), and it's immediately obvious that there are not many developers that are working on this device - probably why you can't find any proper ROMs, kernels etc.
I guess I'm not really helping you in any way and I'm sorry about that - I don't know of any ROMs or kernels for your device. When I first replied to your thread, I was under the impression that you had that covered. However, I can say, loosely, that there are two main types of kernels - one type for proprietary OEM ROMs, and the other type for AOSP ROMs. Most custom ROMs are based on AOSP (I am under the impression that the ROM you obtained is too), so OEM kernels will not work these ROMs. I really hope this helps, in the future at least, if not now.

So this is the change i see. when i connect my phone to computer and open shaume or MyMobiler. i am able to see the OS. i am able to go to settings to but later the inputs wont work.... any idea...???

I had a link of your solutions but its not working.
you should search for your backup if it is successfully done.
because your sw version is 1.0.6 and xperia rom is based on 2.0.2.
so the your old kernel is not accepting new rom.
so you should try link given by zerocool.( I was going to provide you the same link)
Its best rom until now. I have no issues with it. Just replace the kernel and bootloader to your kernel from your nandroid backup.
But since you dont have one, you should try it whole as it is.

Thanks for the reply max. however i tried everything to unpack my boot.img but it woudnt work for some reason. most of the posts i found were users using linux. i am working on windows. even my adb started acting up it wont start the deamon now.... so i have no access to kernal

Hi Jay, thanks for following up :good:
There is nothing left to extract from your phone since you have flashed everything from that backup rom. :banghead:
Now there is only one way to search for older roms, extract bootloader and kernel, replace in that rom and try to restore.
You can start from google.
There are some old files in karbonn a1+ wiki post, you can try them.
Also dont forget to replace recovery file to your working cwm recovery.

Hi! I'm new to xda, I need immediate help but I'm not sure how and whom to address it. I ran across xda while desperately looking for posts about Cherry Mobile phones. I hope you can help or direct me to anyone who can.
I rooted my Cherry Mobile Amber successfully via Framaroot Boromir. It was ok, until curiosity killed the cat, and I renamed one of the Roboto system fonts. Hoping I can replace it but, I accidentally reboot before I can replace it. Since then it won't complete boot up process and gets stuck on the android logo.
Is there still a way to restore that font and/or get my phone running again?
For anyone who wants to help me out, I can still access the Power+VolumeUp and Power+VolumeDown menus ok. But have no idea if I can do anything from there to fix the issue. And the phone is MTK6572.

i suggest odin bcoz u write that u can use it, there also lot of flashing tools for MTK devices, just google & use them, they are also very simple & user friendly.
Just give try... ur problem will be resolved...it's normal issue with...

Recently(today) i rooted myphone with framaroot. i installed rom toolbox and the started to change fonts. i applied one font and then i rebooted my phone.but now its not booting up.ias i saw that it wont boot up i pulled out battery and rebooted.it loads lg boot logo and animation but it wont load homescreen.it loads endlessly.

Do you still have access to the bootloader? If so state the following
What device you have -
Was your device successfully rooted -
Do you have adb drivers installed in your PC -

There is also always the option of flashing your phone back to stock form if you can access the download mode (volume down+power in many cases). But you need the correct flashing program and a stock rom that fits EXACTLY your phone or you could brick it even further. As krishneelg3 stated, it would help us help you if you could give us more info, like the model of your phone, what android version it was on before you fiddled with it, etc. Just get back to us on that and we'll help you out as much as possible.

I can't give much info about my device.. The problem is I got stuck on the boot logo.. It started when I became curious and start to modify the system folder.. (Yeah.. I know I'm stupid 'coz I didn't even think of making a back-up..) I just wanted to remove the sound and the manufacturer's logo on the boot.. it started very well and I actually remove the sound.. but when I rename the Media folder on the system and make a new Media folder.. (yeah.. i'm such an idiot.. I know.. ) then reboot the system, my phone got stuck in this boot logo.. and this logo is not my default boot logo.. I don't know where it came from..
I tried to use Aroma File manager because I'm thinking that if I accessed my system file.. I can get back it's original set up.. because I have the back up of the bootanimation.zip... but the problem is.. I cannot run the Aroma File manager in my stock recovery.. and I don't know how to instal the cwm ..
hope someone will help me.. and I'm sorry for my bad english..

Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Unfortunately I'm unable to find any information at all for your device here on XDA, shiv isn't uncommon for low activity devices like this. Ultimately that kind of means you're stuck. Unless you want to learn how to port CWM to your device yourself, but that could be very difficult with the device in its current state. I have a sparkle v which is unrooted and also I don't have any software like cwm.
My phone is stuck in an infinite bootloop. I tried removing the battery, going to recovery mode and factory resetting it and clearing cache.
None of those worked. Please help.

My phone started becoming laggy and not very responsive after I received a 18 mb update which when I tried to install always bought an error during restart - a dead bot icon was shown.
I searched online and many people faced the same. So essentially I wasn't able to install that update and it showed in the taskbar to install the same. However one day that notification disappeared. Maybe it was a problem with low internal memory.
This infinite boot problem occurred after that.

i think you r new to flashing..
stock rom or stock os (kk or lollli or m) is the one came with or distributed by the ur phone brand ie.. here google... it helps you to get back to your phone to original state if ur software is corrupted that is laggy or force close restarting ... if u use ur stock rom it doesnt void ur warranty...
custom recovery means user defined one to install custom rom on ur mobile(user created one for ur mobile) it helps ur to backup ur mobile rom or datas etc..
dont fear while flash the mobile follow the instruction as instructed if not possiblity to get ur phone soft or hard bricked do it at ur own risk..
in ur referred video link he gave the links below the video for driver , flash tool , rom... he said about driver installation on starting the video
sparkle v also the same mediatek for more info download cpu-z app from store or google ..
download both stock kitkat and lollipop rom for ur sparkle v which is present in sparkle v cross development search there or use my above links ....slowly read the steps in the links and flash ur mobile...
