[Q] No data on freshly built AICP - Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S III Developer Discussion

Ok, so I just came to the Note 2 and saw that there was an AICP rom that had not been updated for a while. I am not extremely experienced but I did run my own builds on my machine for the LG G2 Sprint AICP. I got permission to 'build away' from the guy who built AICP originally on our device. Well now that I have it built. I have no data and no service at all but other than that the rom runs great. I am told it has to do with RIL and I am lost at where to start? Any help is appreciated. I am on NE2 by the way and my firmware says it doesnt exist?

Your firmware doesn't exist?
Do you own N7100 or t0lte (n7105, att or tmo) device?
Is your source at github?

It is Sprint LTE variant -> O-thread
That's the firmware talking about LINK

If I remember correctly, sprint is having an additional carrier partition which needs to be mounted. Is it mounted?

Mounted through recovery before flash? I am a little confused with this. Sorry this is kind of a project I am doing when I have time, very busy with school and life.

I am not totally sure, but I think sprint is having one extra partition compared to other note2 variants.
I think it is dev/block/mmcblk0p16, which has to be mounted as /carrier while android is running

I have many source builds for the l900 (sprint note 2). Most likely an issue with your device tree. What are you using for source? Also what recovery are you using to flash the rom?

Definitely wouldn't at this time... I'm sure the partition sizes on the two devices are different, as was the case with the G2 and the Desire Z

EDIT: It seems I cant connect to my Vodafone network. Everything else seems to be working.
EDIT2: Root is gone. See if Super One Click can bring it back...Yup got root back .

can someone explain how to flash the firmware using smartflash? I cant seem to get it working
Hmm, my phone only reads LG-P999-V10f in the Factory Version part of settings. There was a screenshot in an different thread of the Factory Version being LGP999AT-00-v10f-TMO-US-MAR-27-2011. Now this one is LGP999AT-01-V10f-310-260-MAR-27-2011+0.
Does that mean there is 3 different versions of the firmware out there? If so I wonder if any have the 850 Band for AT&T available to select?

It is thought that it may take a modified baseband to make them accessible (although one post in the general section sounded like he received a SIM unlock code from TMO and was told to activate it with an AT&T SIM in the device).
Related to that, the flashing of the G2x Firmware on the Ox2 probably screwed up the baseband on it,as they use different bands. Someone on the Ox2 Forum did the reverse - everything worked but the network connections also

Will have to see if the MF3 kernal modules work on the new version. We still have to wait for a kernel Dev to fix things or Sammy to release source before we get a working ROM though.

I was wondering the same time, according to this YouTube video you can flash I9505 ROMS on the I337 & I337M.
Here the link to the ROM thread: Foxhound ROM
And you would also need this kernel: Faux123 US/Canadian kernel
Hopefully 4.3 can be installed as well

I doubt it will boot with any 4.2 kernel, but it will boot with the right 4.3 kernel (more on that later).
So far:
Everything seems to work except wifi. Even dirty flashed over 4.2.2.
Just got it booting this morning right before I left for work, so I didn't even try to root yet. (root from the kitchen didn't work)
Edit:
Got root access.

I am hoping that you guys won't have to wait for AT&T. Hopefully Hashcode can cook something up.

WIND Mobile M919V == 1337M Update

So I took a gamble and after checking several things.
ro.build.fingerprint=samsung/jfltevw/jfltecan:4.2.2/JDQ39/M919VVLUAMG1:user/release-keys
I went ahead and used the CM (Cyanogenmod) Windows Installer and it put on the jfltecan build onto phone. Flashed it, got one small issue during recovery (it seemed like it was spinning) rebooted phone, everything works great!
I confirm you can use the jfltecan build on M919V. I tried to use T-Mobile and even compiled CM from scratch with any changes from Wind's kernel source (from Samsung's Open Source tree). Went into boot loop, went to CWM recovery, deleted data/cache, still boot looped.
Since the M919 you would think is close to M919V but this isn't the case at all as I found out today jfltevw is a AT&T variant (nothing on google mentions this!)
So now I have Cyanogenmod 10.2 (nightly snapshot from Nov 14th) and installed ViPER4Android FX, all working all good. The device shows 3G for voice and H+ for data which seems to be correct for '4G' service.
So go ahead it should just work for you!
That's an interesting discovery, did you tried same way to install a GE 4.3 ? Will that work to ? Or an Miui ROM ?

No, M919V owners can use the M1337M ROM is what I am saying with the M919V baseband left alone.
You can flash the modem of I337M 4.3 on M919V and enable AWS Frequency, then head over to i9505 and flash customized TW 4.3 rom ! So there are no data drops on 4.3 TW roms!
Or, wait for Wind 4.3 TW update, which will be soon.
How Can you activate aws on 1337 modem ?

[CM ROM [hlte/universal] OFFICIAL CyanogenMod Builds (Nightlies)

New thread for CyanogenMod builds (currently nightlies) for hlte devices. Previously, Note 3 (qualcomm devices) builds were separate, but now they are unified. So, hltespr, hltetmo, hltevzw, htlexx are now all in one build: hlte.
Download page can be found here: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=hlte.
FAQs (please read before asking any questions):
AlecRobertson said:
Does this build work on the 4.4 bootloader? Yes! It works on the 4.4.2 NA6/NA7/NB3 bootloaders.
Is this build stable? No. There will be issues (see known issues below)
Where can I get the latest recovery that is compatible with this ROM? http://d-h.st/users/xiaolu/?fld_id=31963. You can also use the latest version of TWRP.
Can I update OTA from an hltexx, etc. build to an hlte build? No.
Is there any advantage to upgrading to the 4.4 bootloader? No, not really, unless you call not being able to downgrade an advantage .
Can I downgrade from a 4.4 bootloader to a 4.3 bootloader. No (you can thank Samsung for that)! The only exception to this is if you have a Canadian variant of the Note 3. Then, you can downgrade
Can I install this on an Eyxnos device? No!
Which GApps should I use? I would recommend the Paranoid Android GApps. You can them from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942. If you want the Nexus experience, get the GOOGLE STOCK PACKAGE.

I know, today's changelog is not very useful. But "Tomorrow is another day"
Seems like date and time doesn't work on the 18/02/14 build except when synced with carrier, but it will lose the time data again after reboot.
Success on Rogers SM-N900W8 ...
Well, I took the plunge … once again … with surprising success.
Installation was quite simple on my Rogers (Canadian) SM-N900W8, so I would imagine that all Canadian variants will provide similar results.
Prior to installing the 20140218 unified (hlte) version of CM, I had stock Touchwiz installed, with TWRP 2.6.3.7 as my recovery.
I first performed a Nandroid (always suggested), and then simply flashed both CM and GAPPS through TWRP. Yes, you read the previous sentence correctly. I flashed right from my existing TWRP recovery.
Prior to flashing, I wiped System, Data, Dalvik and Cache, which I did twice (moderate OCD here); however, I did NOT touch Internal Storage.
So far, so good. The device booted very quickly, much more quickly than usual. I then entered all the initial set-up information, and arrived, quite smoothly, at the initial home screen. I then went into Settings and set-up virtually everything.
As I said above, so far, so good. Wifi works very well. LTE works, although, I had to manually go into the APN settings and select the pre-configured Rogers LTE APN. It took a few minutes, but LTE finally popped-up on the Notification Bar.
So, that's it. I'm now installing all my apps. I'll let you know how everything goes once they are all installed (about 100).
Good luck everyone.

The dev section should be problem solving and log cats.
Are you the maintainer as per cm or just another user making another thread here??

The KK bootloader doesn't offer any benefit/new feature over the JB one, SS just changed it to give us a hard time with custom ROMs and prevent us from downgrading. All the bootloader does is to allow the device to... boot (!)
I like this new version, I haven't gotten the black screen of death yet, and things seem to run smoother (probably placebo), and the battery seems better
