[CM ROM [hlte/universal] OFFICIAL CyanogenMod Builds (Nightlies) - Galaxy Note 3 General

New thread for CyanogenMod builds (currently nightlies) for hlte devices. Previously, Note 3 (qualcomm devices) builds were separate, but now they are unified. So, hltespr, hltetmo, hltevzw, htlexx are now all in one build: hlte.
Download page can be found here: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=hlte.
FAQs (please read before asking any questions):
AlecRobertson said:
Does this build work on the 4.4 bootloader? Yes! It works on the 4.4.2 NA6/NA7/NB3 bootloaders.
Is this build stable? No. There will be issues (see known issues below)
Where can I get the latest recovery that is compatible with this ROM? http://d-h.st/users/xiaolu/?fld_id=31963. You can also use the latest version of TWRP.
Can I update OTA from an hltexx, etc. build to an hlte build? No.
Is there any advantage to upgrading to the 4.4 bootloader? No, not really, unless you call not being able to downgrade an advantage .
Can I downgrade from a 4.4 bootloader to a 4.3 bootloader. No (you can thank Samsung for that)! The only exception to this is if you have a Canadian variant of the Note 3. Then, you can downgrade
Can I install this on an Eyxnos device? No!
Which GApps should I use? I would recommend the Paranoid Android GApps. You can them from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942. If you want the Nexus experience, get the GOOGLE STOCK PACKAGE.

Cannot set a preferred network type (com.android.phone crashes), unless using English (United States) as the system language.
Setting provider settings causes com.android.phone to crash, unless using English (United States) as the system language.
Sensors (e.g. humidity and temperature) stop working after the phone goes into a deep sleep (for some minutes)
Time settings are lost after every reboot.
MNVO network names are not shown correctly, e.g. Virgin is shown as Orange or T-Mobile UK,
Sometimes, after using the phone for a continued length of time, the screen becomes multi-coloured and the only fix is to reboot.
Audio channels are reversed when using headphones.

I know, today's changelog is not very useful. But "Tomorrow is another day"

Seems like date and time doesn't work on the 18/02/14 build except when synced with carrier, but it will lose the time data again after reboot.

Success on Rogers SM-N900W8 ...
Well, I took the plunge … once again … with surprising success.
Installation was quite simple on my Rogers (Canadian) SM-N900W8, so I would imagine that all Canadian variants will provide similar results.
Prior to installing the 20140218 unified (hlte) version of CM, I had stock Touchwiz installed, with TWRP 2.6.3.7 as my recovery.
I first performed a Nandroid (always suggested), and then simply flashed both CM and GAPPS through TWRP. Yes, you read the previous sentence correctly. I flashed right from my existing TWRP recovery.
Prior to flashing, I wiped System, Data, Dalvik and Cache, which I did twice (moderate OCD here); however, I did NOT touch Internal Storage.
So far, so good. The device booted very quickly, much more quickly than usual. I then entered all the initial set-up information, and arrived, quite smoothly, at the initial home screen. I then went into Settings and set-up virtually everything.
As I said above, so far, so good. Wifi works very well. LTE works, although, I had to manually go into the APN settings and select the pre-configured Rogers LTE APN. It took a few minutes, but LTE finally popped-up on the Notification Bar.
So, that's it. I'm now installing all my apps. I'll let you know how everything goes once they are all installed (about 100).
Good luck everyone.
Peter

Hey op just some advice. The main user page should be in general section for everyday talk of the builds.
The dev section should be problem solving and log cats.
Are you the maintainer as per cm or just another user making another thread here??
dont forget the thanks button if I helped out!!

Can anybody tell me if this build will appear as an update to those of us already running CM11 for hltexx? Currently no Stable or Nightly update is showing since the 20140130-NIGHTLY-hltexx build.

I don't think so, as you've got an hltexx build, whereas this is an hlte build. I'll add this to the FAQ.

Thanks. The blog post earlier (http://www.cyanogenmod.org/blog/unified-builds) mentioned they would add server-side checks to present the unified build via CM Updater, but I wasn't sure if that really meant upgrading from hltexx to hlte unified builds.

I'd always do a clean install by downloading it on your PC and clean flashing it anyway. I know it's a pain, but you'll get far less issues like this.

The KK bootloader doesn't offer any benefit/new feature over the JB one, SS just changed it to give us a hard time with custom ROMs and prevent us from downgrading. All the bootloader does is to allow the device to... boot (!)

I like this new version, I haven't gotten the black screen of death yet, and things seem to run smoother (probably placebo), and the battery seems better

WIND Mobile M919V == 1337M Update

So I took a gamble and after checking several things.
ro.build.fingerprint=samsung/jfltevw/jfltecan:4.2.2/JDQ39/M919VVLUAMG1:user/release-keys
I went ahead and used the CM (Cyanogenmod) Windows Installer and it put on the jfltecan build onto phone. Flashed it, got one small issue during recovery (it seemed like it was spinning) rebooted phone, everything works great!
I confirm you can use the jfltecan build on M919V. I tried to use T-Mobile and even compiled CM from scratch with any changes from Wind's kernel source (from Samsung's Open Source tree). Went into boot loop, went to CWM recovery, deleted data/cache, still boot looped.
Since the M919 you would think is close to M919V but this isn't the case at all as I found out today jfltevw is a AT&T variant (nothing on google mentions this!)
So now I have Cyanogenmod 10.2 (nightly snapshot from Nov 14th) and installed ViPER4Android FX, all working all good. The device shows 3G for voice and H+ for data which seems to be correct for '4G' service.
So go ahead it should just work for you!
That's an interesting discovery, did you tried same way to install a GE 4.3 ? Will that work to ? Or an Miui ROM ?

No, M919V owners can use the M1337M ROM is what I am saying with the M919V baseband left alone.
You can flash the modem of I337M 4.3 on M919V and enable AWS Frequency, then head over to i9505 and flash customized TW 4.3 rom ! So there are no data drops on 4.3 TW roms!
Or, wait for Wind 4.3 TW update, which will be soon.
How Can you activate aws on 1337 modem ?

What a great response. :good:
I'm actually dual-booting now, with my own system. Unfortunately, it isn't to the point where it is reliable, so I haven't released it. Now it looks like between MaulBoot and this the S3 is covered :highfive::highfive:
I can't try this now (leaving for work in a few minutes) but will definitely give it a spin this weekend. Any word on storage speed? I have a UHS sd-card and I'm actually getting faster speeds running off the SD than the internal memory. The way I'm doing it though is re-partitioning the SD card (essentially the same as MaulBoot I believe), which other than the fact that its working seems to be... less desirable than using .img files like this does. At the very least, it kills using the external SD for both ROMs.
This is awesome! Now I can test my MIUI builds without doing a wipe and restore.
Would it be possible to be able to change the img sizes?
Can the tar file be flashed with mobile Odin or do I have to flash with odin3? Also I am currently dual booting with MaulBoot, can I dual boot with this as well as with MaulBoot or would I have to format my sdcard to use this? I am enjoying being able to dual boot on my sdcard.

Hi podspi, if your external sdcard is partitionned, it will work only if /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 is vfat as multibbot only manage fisrt external partition.
But, you can also use internal /sdcard to install roms. As img files are sparsed on ext4, it is more efficient for space saving.

Philippe,
You can't do this on our 4.3 update. We have a locked bootloader that prevents it running any other rom besides stock. If people with locked bootloaders try to use this their devices will brick.
AT&T and T-Mobile s3's both have unlocked bootloaders.

You're correct, people on the update can't install custom recoveries. We do have safestrap available, and that's the only recovery available that will work on the locked bootloader. This is fine for anyone with an unlocked bootloader, there are plenty of people who ran custom roms before the update and did not take the 4.3 update.
This program is perfectly acceptable for them and it should definitely be here, but a disclaimer for the 4.3 folks would be a good idea.

For those who updated to OTA 4.3, yea they are stuck. I would expect that most of us (?) are still on the leaked bootloader, which IS unlocked.
As long as you put a disblamer noting that people need an unlocked bootloader, you should be fine.

Hey this looks great, I have a 32gb sd card coming in in a few days and want to try it out. It looks like you had a build up but pulled it, maybe for further testing. Just to be sure should I wait for a verizon recovery build (if you are building one) or do I flash the at&t, sprint, or the t mobile builds? I'm not comfortable flashing things that weren't meant specifically for my device. I do see you said you can download them from the other threads and adapt them but I have no idea how to do so.

Awesome, successfuly flashed it with mobile ODIN. I'll play around with it when I get my sd card. Just to clarify, being on 4.3 is fine as long as its not the OTA that was pushed. Our custom 4.3 roms don't lock you down like the OTA does.

Ok so I couldn't wait for my sd card to try this and went ahead and freed up room on my internal and tried flashing omni rom with this. It did what it was supposed to and its great that we have something like this now. Couple of problems: I tried flashing the supersu update zip but it failed even though the gapps installed fine. When I was in my main rom and tried to use the multiboot app it just booted back up to my main one again. When I tried shutting down from omni it kept doing the vibration it does for shutdown and boot up (might have been from being plugged in the charger but I'm not sure). Other than these small issues this is pretty great.

Anyone know where to find old nightlies?

I've been running CM12 for a while now, but today it just crashed and wouldn't boot. Sadly, all the nightlies available to download won't install due to my boot loader which I'm not currently willing or able to update, so I was wondering if anyone knew where to find old nightlies, or more specifically where the XT1032 2015 0314 ROM is (which Is the last one I understand which has neither the boot loader issues nor the annoying screen updating). Im not really too fussed about the newer, small improvements and will probably only update when there is an easy and (mostly) risk free way of updating the boot loader anyway, I just want a version of CM12 with features like the theme manager and custom notification bar icons which arnt available on the version i currently am forced to run.
Thanks in advance
The only places I know:
1. goo.im/devs/CM
2. oss.reflected.net/jenkins (you have to know the build sequence number for the specific nightly)
Updating the bootloader isn't hard - there are actually recovery-flashable zips that will do the trick. These are model-specific (e.g. XT1032's can be only used on XT1032), so you should search with your model number. If you have 1031 or 1033 I'll send you the files directly.
Also, there's a way of flashing these new nightlies on old BL which involves modifying updater-script, but even though you can flash it, the screen flicker problem will be there.
What solution you will take is totally up to you.

I had a look and didn't find anything, but thanks anyway! And thank you for the offers if the zips however I have an XT1032. I managed to find a stock motorola rom and am in the process of updating it it 5.0.2 via the official motorola update, would this also update the boot loader able to run the newest CM 12 updates?
EDIT: I can't actually install the update, it reboots into TWRP (2.8.5.0), skips the installation, and then when booted again it restarts and does the same? Does this mean I have to manually install the update, and if so where would i find this?

First of all applying a stock rom update requires already installed old firmware
And second it is possible only with a stock recovery

Too rude, dude... Yes indeed that the links to the older nightlies are there, but if you click on one of them you'll get a "404 Not Found", and that's why we're talking about this.
Everyone has a time of noobishness. Turning new people away from the forum? I don't think you deserve the thanks.
@LSPandaaa Try using MotoFlasher to flash an official OS in the meantime (guides are abundant), but if you're stuck, I'll try finding the files for you and putting together a flashable zip. I've seen many people wanting it from me anyway, just that I'm lazy because I own a XT1031...

First of all I wasn't being rude its just that people here ask things that are already told many times before( like for example some are still asking if cm supports dual Sim) and still help them if I know about it and second I didn't know that CM link gave an error so he should have mentioned it
And for flashing stock firmware there are literally a lot of guides with link to the firmware and standard set of fastboot command
People should Google things first and then they can obviously ask

True. But see, people flashing *custom* ROMs rarely expect that they have to flash a *stock* ROM first in order for it to function as planned. Anyway, let's just tell similar people to go to General section for guides and alike, because (damn) Google isn't really doing me justice recently...

Yes general section provides most of the things
And why did you say a stock ROM is required first for a custom ROM to work properly because I that's not the case

A direct (but time-consuming) way to upgrade his bootloader to 5.0's. Isn't this the whole reason why he's looking for an older nightly?
If I had the bootloader files for XT1032 I would've directly handed him the flashable zip though... Even faster than fastboot.

Great then. Here's my flashable zip for XT1033 that should do the same thing: http://d-h.st/rI1n
Keep in mind: the original creator of the package is not me - I only modified it to put in files specific to XT1033 and prevent flashing a few suspicious partitions. Because I manually updated mine using fastboot, I can't test out the package personally, but responses from my Chinese community is fairly positive. Be careful as anyone proceeds with this.

Thanks for the help, I ditched the plan of reverting to stock after finding a guide for flashing an updated boot loader with OS X, I only wish CM kept old nightlies for longer or at least remove links for ones they have taken down. If this thread has taught me anything though, it's to keep backups!

If you're not working with him then it doesn't seem like you should be calling it clean rom. If you're looking to make and share your own debloated but very stock rom that's inspired by his clean roms then go ahead and give him a shout out in the op but call it your own.

Are you on Lollipop firmware? Which variant of the M8 did you flash it on?
Edit: for those that are scared of flashing a test build, I can confirm that 1.1.0 has booted up fine for me and I'm currently setting up the build
I'm going to have to do this.... I miss Scott. I'll try to get it done tonight, although to be fair the Pre-official release Marshmallow rom I'm using is working without any trouble, so I hate asking for trouble with unnecessary ROM switches. On the other hand...This forum is full of flash-o-holics like myself who quite literally can't help themselves.

This ROM is feels like old Scott's cleanROM but I doubt mine is as good as his though so you need to bear with me for a while
Edit: I realized the ROM doesn't ship with a browser (my fault lol) so do you guys prefer having HTC Browser or Google Chrome in it?

To the OP, as a cleanRom user and a donator to Scott on many occasions I'd just like to say "Don't call your **** CleanRom!"
I say this vigorously and especially if you're not a top notched, experienced Rom Cook, or Dev. Don't ruin someone else's brand by distributing something that is not endorsed by the brand originator, lacking in the quality of the original, or lacking in the commitment to community that Scott has demonstrated for years.

Error 7 tends to be the assets to a device. Google search will show you what I meant. I tagged you with the intention of asking if his device is compatible with the ROM. Mine is on Lollipop firmware and booted the ROM fine with clumsy kernel.

I'm sorry about running his reputation if it offended you by any means. I've named it unofficial and stated very clearly that no way is this ROM his work and that any users should bug him about issues that crop up in this builds.
If it bothers you so much, I will get the name of the ROM changed once I get home from work

That's right!
My honest guess is that they won't be having a official TWRP for us. It's not not that popular of a device unfortunately. I've had the official TWRP app installed from the play store for a while and our device isn't listed.
Best way to check is just DL official TWRP app and run it daily.
It be awesome to have a 3.1.0 but I don't need it to do anything more than what I do now!! ?

Lol true thing. I only do backups, restore, flash things (HECK YEAH)! , clean (dalvik, cache, system, data, internal storage), factory reset, and sometimes removing files from the file manager on TWRP. I don't know what else is there to be added. (Now it is true that sometimes twrp does crashes while installedomg a rom with AROMA installer. But it is nothing that cant be fix by pulling out the battery (thanks LG LOL) and putting it back again.
Besides what the current recovery does, what more do we need the recovery to do? I know there's new bells and whistles, but it works and it's stable for this variant. So, what else do we need?

It has some enhanced ADB functionality which may be helpful for Devs doing their thing (which in the end benefits us). Also has a better partition scheme for 7.1.1 which will benefit us if we ever get that update from LG. And while it's true we probably will never get the "official" support from TWRP now that the base code is available JCADDUNODO can create a 3.1.0 for us. That's what he did on 3.0.2.
It also allows for flashing ota zips too. This is a big deal, their biggest update in a while.
