Desktop Stand - Galaxy Note 4 Accessories

I'm not having much luck trying to find a reasonably priced desktop stand for my N4. I have several cases that I use - none that are terribly huge...
UAG (Rust)
Spigen NeoHybrid
Spigen Slim Armor
Spigen Ultra Capsule
I tried this stand and the N4 with the UAG would not fit into the slot.
I tried this stand and the adjustments were not fine enough. One click out, the phone was top-heavy. Two clicks out, the stand legs were too far apart.
I'm interested in what others are using for a desktop stand for their N4.
Thanks!

I have 3 Motorola flip stand around the house and they work fine.
The Note 4 with cases fit perfect in the Elago P2 but the speaker is covered up on the back.
Thinking about drilling a hole for the speaker in the P2 stand.
Here is a pic showing the white Note 4 in the Otterbox commuter sitting on the Motorola flip stand.

Those look pretty nice - especially the Elago. Would you mind posting a side view of each? I'm curious how the back of the phone lies on the stands.

My Elago P2 has a piece of rubber I glued on the back.
Without this rubber the P2 would accommodate even thicker cases on the Note 4. I've included a couple of pictures showing the UAG Maverick sitting on these stands also.
Here you go:

Nice, thanks.
On the Elago, is there enough room for a USB cable to plug in when the phone is in portrait?

Yes, but keep in mind that the rear speaker is blocked on the Elago P2.
Elago makes an M2 stand but it is just too small for the Note 4.

Made this on my own using cardboard, this is a larger version compared to my old one that i have been using for more than 5 years already.

Nice!

I ordered this one: http://www.tinydeal.com/-p-113818.html. It was shipped from China, so it took about 2 weeks to get here, but it's nice looking, very sturdy, and I have the USB cable plugged into the bottom in portrait (this works because of the slot going from the back and up through the bottom of the holder).

I use the Rabbit Stand:
http://smile.amazon.com/Rabbit-Portable-Iphone-Samsung-Smartphones/dp/B0051J1JZA/
And I have a Qi Charging Pad sitting upright on it in addition to my phone:
http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E9MUNWU
My Note 4 is in a Ringke Fusion, but it would easily hold a case twice that size in addition to the Qi charger if it needed to. It isn't remotely close to being top-heavy, either. It's very stable. The cable is currently plugged into the Qi charger, but the spacing would be the same to plug it directly into the phone.

I like how this stores flat. I also like that it's 1/3 the price of the Elago.
I'm curious if you have had any issues with the adhesive that holds the rubber strip on the back rest coming loose? This was mentioned in more than one review.

I haven't had any issues at all. Been used at my work desk for about a year and a half and I've collapsed it for travel maybe half a dozen times and it looks the same as the day I bought it. (Except for the self-adhesive velcro I added to hold the Qi charger in place.)

Another revised version of my cardboard dock, this time with added cushions on both back and bottom of the dock, and able to put a powerbank at the back of the dock

I bought the Motorola Universal Flip Stand, the Rabbit Mini Portable Stand, and the Elago P2 Stand.
My opinions of the stands I tried (all in potrait mode)...
Motorola
I liked the fit and finish of the Motorola but found it just too lightweight to support actually using the phone while on the stand.
It's not super-important but I would have at least liked the option to plug in a USB cable while in portrait mode but the stand just sat too low.
Rabbit Mini
The Rabbit Mini was a bit of a joke.
It was much smaller than I thought it would be.
It was all plastic and even lighter than the Motorola.
The phone had to be centered for the stand to even stay up.
Forget about actually using the phone while on this stand.
Elago
The Elago P2 was definitely my favorite.
It's solid, perfectly balanced, and the phone is completely usable while on this stand.
I ended up buying two - one for home and one for my desk at work.
It is pricey but well, you know...
Thanks for all of the responses and I hope my feedback helps someone else.

I love the P2 also but it blocks the rear speaker. Do you have any problems with the speaker being blocked?

I put three small flat bumper pads on the stand where the back of the phone rests. This gives it enough of an angle that the speaker is slightly exposed. I can hear it no problem.

Speck universal holster for G2 (with pics and link!)

I was planning on purchasing this Speck universal holster for my G2. I already have the OEM gel skin and this seems to fit it perfectly. Good alternative to otterbox or seidco cases that are mysteriously absent for our beloved phone model. I was wondering if anyone had one or used one in the past and also to inform others about what might make an excellent combo for the popular OEM texturized gel skin. linkage... http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6824578&sk
Okay, it just came it and it's very nice. The build is nice quality and solid for a plastic holster. The cool thing is how it works. It has a spring (No... not like the one in our Z-hinge) that auto-fits any sized smartphone with or without gel or hard case! And when you use it without a case... its not loose or jiggley at all. Very solid each corner has rubberized grip on the inside so that it holds any size phone. I knew it was a bit pricey ($25-29.99 depends on where you get it) but it's worth it to me. And I can use it with any smartphone... so if I felt like going TP2 today... just pop in my sim and the same clip. And any future phone too. Here are some pics...

I bit the bullet and ordered one. I'll give a full review with pictures when it arrives. It's nice that Tiger Direct ships UPS though. I really hate the post office... yuk!
The cool thing about this holster is that you can use it one ANY phone so I switch up with one of my many current or future phones. Will be a nice combo with the T-Mobile Gel Skin, I think.

Yeah I just saw that in another thread. it looks nice! I'm gonna stick with this one since I can put in the holster while the gel skin is still on. I dont think the regular seidio holsters will do that. I know they have some that hold the phone with a case on but not the current ones. they have to go naked to fit. I'll post some pics later this week when it arrives. it should be here wednesday or thursday... but thanks for the heads up!

Yes. it swivels in both vertical and horizontal positions....
I just ordered one of these myself to go with another item folks on here found, seems like a near perfect replacement to Seidio if both items are used together.

How do you get your phone in and out of the holster one handed like the box says? getting it on isn't so bad, I keep ripping it off my belt when trying to do anything with it.

If you are using a wider belt like I am, it is kinda difficult at first. I fixed it by pushing upwards on the clip so that it closes all the way. Do that firmly once, and it should fit nicely. If you belt is wider than the clip... well that's the issue. Just examine the clip while its on the belt. If it isn't closed tightly... push the clip upward into the belt and it will loosen and fit properly.

I pulled out the clip spring and detached the clip so I could remove the screw on the pivot. This let me flip the clip over so that I pushed down rather than pulled up to remove the phone and the problem was solved. as the clip is now forced against my belt.
As a warning though, I had to snip off the two retainer bumps from the case to get it to pivot correctly again. As a side effect, it can now pivot in 360 degrees (it doesn't spin freely)
In the end, this will do, but I'm really hoping that Seidio pulls through as this system is not the quality I would like for my needs. I prefer the snug fit and felt padding in the seidio as it keeps the screen clean and protected rather than the spring powered gap and distance away from the holster the screen is now.

yeah, I got mine working with just a little force by pushing upwards on the clip without modding (which is nice). It's a nice clip but I guess your belt was a bit wider than mine. But so far this seems like the best thats available. it would be nice if otterbox or seido made a clip that fit on their protective cases but it seems like it won't happpen... oh well, we got stuck with the rather lame otterbox commuter series. Welll, I am happy with this setup though. no complains here since I didn't have to snip off the retainer clips.

sick of crappy cases

I'm planning to get a skinomi carbon fiber skin for my infinity cos Im starting to hate cases now (don't even have one for my mobile).
But I want something to protect my screen and use as a stand and not cover the back.
Perfect I'll get the transleeve.
EXCEPT I can't seem to get the thing from anywhere!!!!
I'm from Australia BTW, so no retail stores sell it (that I'm aware of). The only ones I can find on the net are on eBay, but its pink. There is also another seller from the UK but they have it from $80 !!!!
Where can I get one of these covers. Otherwise I might have to settle for a sleeve with a built in stand or something.
I bought this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/360-Rotatin...es_Covers_Keyboard_Folios&hash=item4abcb180c9
Have been using it for the last couple of days and this has been the best case I've owned. It looks nice and is convenient enough to take anywhere. Well worth the money and is even better than some of my more expensive cases...

Overall I am very happy with it. It's a decent shell that cradles the unit with a "leather" that wraps around that. I don't know how
genuine any of these materials are but they seem fine.
The ring in the middle seems to be where all the magic happens. It spins very easily.
In response to rndmnss's concern over the ring scratching the back of the infinity I spun my
infinity around in this thing like a propeller for a bit and after taking it out I couldn't see any
scratches, BUT the way the back of the infinity is polished (those circular patterns) I'm not sure
I would've been able to tell if it was scratching it. I to a picture with a playing card against the ring
to show just how close it really is. If I was really concerned about it scratching I would file just a
little off of the ring. There is enough there it shouldn't mess with functionality to lose a little.
The only problem i had was when using the case as a stand once it sat a little crooked after
looking around i seen that the back hadn't rotated completely. It was an easy adjustment and
hasn't happened since.
I wasn't sure about the edges at first. They look like they were melted to the right size but they
seem to grab the four corners just fine.
The cutouts are good everywhere for me. Volume and Power buttons seemed weird at first but
thats just because i was so use to them with no case. Camera also seems pretty protected.
There are only two positional grooves in the microfiber instead of three on most. Another one or two
would have been nice for versatility but these work just fine in both portrait and landscape orientations.
The thickness of it also works well. Feels slim yet thick enough that there is plenty to hold on to.
The case fits tight enough that there is NO room inside i would feel comfortable squeezing a stylus into
it but there is plenty of room to slide the clip on the stylus in the edge. I bend the clip so it would fit
more to my liking (not to hard or soft).
Spinning it 180 degrees and closing works great for charging. Without a dock to test with I'm not sure
if there is enough room to plug it into one when in this position.
Overall I really love it (especially for $15). Once I get a keyboard dock I will need to look at some other
options but this would still be great for when not using the dock and it comes in and out of the case easy
enough you could swap between this another case without any trouble.
This is the listing I used

Wow,
Pretty sweet!
It protects the corners.
Wish I could run to a store a get it right now.
Nice case.
Yeah I got one of those for my iPad. It a great type of case but it really adds quiet a bit of bulk, which is what I'm actually trying to avoid with the whole skin + transleeve thing here. I mean what's the point of buying a tablet this thin when I'm just going to add a cover which adds so much bulk.
I hate to say it but apple knew what they were doing when they made the smart cover + case. Gives enough protection while still keeping the tab slim. I don't know what more you could ask for.
The Asus transleeve had good potential except for the fact that the build quality is apparently horrible and it didn't really have a closing mechanism to keep the cover from flopping around. Also the whole scratching thing (but the skin would have kinda protected it from that).
I'm sure I would have got a few looks from those iPad owners when i folded up that weird origami stand.
Oh well ill just buy a standard sleeve then ... disappointed.
I don't worry about the glass very much. It's Gorilla glass 2, which can take quite a beating. heck, I dropped an inifinity onto a concrete floor from about five feet. Glass was prefectly fine. Can't say that about the rest of the case; metal bend, plastic cracked through.
Personally, I just bought a netbook sleeve for storage and transportation. Bought a portable folding stand. I keep the charger, stand, and various cables in sleeve pouch. Not perfect, but works enough. Then again, I wasn't trying to have an Android iPad.
I'd really like a "smart cover" type of case too. I know Asus sells one, but the engineering seems to be pretty bad.

I like minimalistic cases like tpu and silicone but wanted something more durable since the note will be traveling with me on vacation, this seems to be the perfect compromise of size and toughness. I considered that case, however, it is only available in black, and since the Note 8.0 is my first dance with a white device, I wanted a case that accented it nicely. The one I posted looks sharp with the black rubber around the white plastic. My tracking number shows it is in NY. Hope to get it by Saturday.

I had a rough time getting good snaps as I took them on my cell phone in a rather dark room. oh well. I tried to show all the ports and things that were in the case.
This thing makes my Note 8.0 feel 100% better in the hand. It's a very sharp case, and adds great character to the tablet. I'm glad I chose this one.
so, the tablet goes inside the rubber first, then the hard shell goes over it?
is the rubber nice and snug, or is it kinda loose?
looks nice!:good:

It's one piece. It's a bit flexible without the tablet in it, but you cannot bend it much past flexing the corners. The plastic back adds the rigidity. You just snap the tablet into the entire piece.
I will state that it doesn't afford hardly ANY top protection to the device. If you laid it on it's face on a table, there is approximately 3/32" of rubber between the tablet and the table. But the rest of the device seems very secure.
It truly is one of the nicest cases I have ever seen for any electronic device. It really changes the appearance and the way you handle the Note 8.0.

I don't use screen protectors. Especially on a device with an S-pen
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 on ATT LTE
I've had the case for a few days now and have been loving it. The First Class does fit super snug around the edges of the screen, so much so that my screen protector started to come up in a few areas. I had to massage those areas that were being raised and the SGP protector slipped under the case. The extra rubber on the ends helps when holding in landscape mode, it gives a nice gripping area that keeps you from accidentally hitting the capacitive buttons. It's very easy to pop off and on but I really don't see myself taking it out much, I like the Note better with the case on.

It's a REALLY nice case. It compliments the Note well. I have already had a number of people ask what it is and how cool it looks.
I ordered one of these on Monday. Although since they are coming from South Korea, it will take weeks before it arrives. I cant wait just hope my note 8.0 doesn't get beat up too much while i wait. In the meantime I'm gonna dive into some rom development.

Mine showed up in about 2 weeks.
Just got mine. Ordered it on the 7th arrived today on the 24th. Initial impressions are good.I like the raised volume and power keys. The other cut outs are deep. There is no slot of sim card, which might be a problem for people who swap sims out. The case adds a good amount of extra bezel to the device. This comes in a form of hard rubber. It makes it really reassuring that the phone is safe. Only problem is if the phone falls flat on its face there isn't that much rubber to protect it.
Overall best case I could find for the device. Highly recommended but be prepared for the long shipping time.

[Q] Which cases fit the magnetic dock?

I'm currently using a magnetic charging cable and it's great not having to ever open the usb flaps and use the usb socket each time I charge, but it's a drag having to keep my case open while it charges; plus, it can take up to a minute to attach the damn thing. I got a cheap case off eBay which is starting to break so I'm after a new one but it seems impossible to know which cases will fit in the dock.
If you have a dock and a case/cover, and assuming you recommended the case/cover, could you reply here stating the brand/model? Thanks!
Cruzerlite Bugdroid does not fit
I have the Cruzerlite Bugdroid TPU shell and can confirm this does not fit the stand with the standard adapters. I don't like the Book style cases and am not impressed by the Sony versions anyway. The gap in the dock is very thin so I'd be amazed if there are any cases that will fit with the standard adapters and protect the phone from drops. I should have checked this before buying the dock. I'm now looking to modify like another user on here with sticky backed foam.

I scooped this one off eBay:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/291245971777
Fits well and I like the way they did the cutouts because it seems to keep the power or camera buttons from getting pressed by mistake when the phone is in my pocket. The insert I used for the dock is stamped 34B and I think it's the insert for the Xperia Z3 Compact but it fits perfectly.
I have a Tudia case off Amazon, and the DK48 inserts are too thin . Looking to go the foam insert route, or dremel one of the inserts to open it up a tad. Thought about returning it and buying the Z2 dock (DK36). But it is more expensive (on Amazon at least), and I am not guaranteed it will work either.

I am using Chabel case from Korea and Case-Mate Sony Xperia Z3 Tough Case.
Both can dock charge
I use the Krusell FrostCover for Xperia Z3/Z3 Dual - works good for me and charging it on the dock is straightforward.

which Chabel case have you got mate?
CaseMate Toughcase w/metal buttons. Snug, handsome case, 2 part protection and fits the DK48. Not to shabby.

Ringke fusion does.
This Motomo case works perfectly with the Sony Z3 dock : http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=motomo+z3+case
The only thing is that you need to take out that plastic adapter since the case is too bulky. If you run it naked like in this picture with the plastic adapter off it works nicely and the phone doesn't feel loose at all while charging:

I use a Tudia case on mine:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/TUDIA-Bumper-Protective-Compatible-Verizon/dp/B00OPW1SD2
It has a dock port cutout,
However i bought a replica of the sony charger, not the real deal and they gave me 3 adapters all the same size, So i had to do alittle DIY and sanded one of the adapters to fit my case, It works perfectly and with the Tudia case it's so much easier to slot the dock in
With using the Cruzerlite TPU cases, which charging dock will it fit it? I have the dock for the Z1 that I was using for the Z1s and the Z3 fit without the case (with putting a piece of folded up paper behind it to hold it in place) but now after putting the case on it won't fit. Which charging dock will hold the Z3 with the Cruzerlite TPU case on it?
The Casemate Barely There case fits the DK48 dock perfectly with one of the inserts. No mods required.

Yeah, I had been using the DK31 which fit it fine before the case... would the DK48 hold the Cruzerlite TPU case as well? I'm sticking to that case and am trying to confirm which dock will hold it.

It barely fits, and the phone sits at 90 degrees, not leaning back like it should do.
My dock is the DK48, btw.

Devilcase aluminum bumper works. Comes with it's own insert.
This one will fit the dock

LG V10 Leather back with wireless charging review

I ordered this from Ebay 10 days ago and got it in the mail today from China.
First things first, this is real leather! The smell and feel is genuine leather, although very thin. The grip feels similar to my T-mobile brown leather back I had previously on my G4. It's actually pretty soft and supple. The leather does not surround the whole back, but just the rear side of the back. The sides of the back are smooth black plastic.
The fit is a little more snug than the factory LG back. The back clipped nice and tight, but mine had a little gap by the headphone jack. I did not see any other gaps elsewhere. This may just be a mold issue and YMMV. The back is slightly thicker than the factory one. It's only noticeable when pressing the volume down button, where you can feel the back is slightly thicker. I only have one case (spigen ultra thin) and it fits perfectly, and wireless charging works over the case as well.
Wireless charging works perfect, but the sweet spot is quite small. I feel that is more to do with the charger i'm using, than the coil in the back. Either way, I have no problem placing the phone on the charger first try. Using ampere with the screen on, I see on average 700mA. Side note, when my phone was placed on my wireless charger (Nokia DT900) I can hear an ever so slight whine noise. I heard it too previously on my S6 Edge Plus using the same charger, but it is a tad louder on this wireless charging back. Not sure if its the charger, or the coils.
My final thoughts are that it is well worth the $15 shipped. The leather feel is fantastic, and wireless charging is a big bonus! The ebay user I used (which I have zero connections with) is : connectionstation
Some pics!

First, thanks so much for posting this. I'm sure a bunch of us who want wireless charging will look into this for a more premium feel. The normal back of this V10 makes me think how Samsung missed out on such a market with The grip-feel of The back of this V10. Plastic or rubber like and phone is huge but because off The textured back I haven't dropped it once ( ok well I did drop it once but no damage)
Questions for you before I buy:
Grip: which back is easier to grip? Is this a super smooth leather or do the oils from your finger/leather help grip it?
Sounds like you would obviously recommend: does the color match the phone? It looks great in pictures.
Does it raise the camera any more off the table than the normal back? I scratched black ring around camera while putting on screen protector while it was on the table. I can't tell by pictures.
Thanks
Received my "buttery" cover today too. "Chargerg" works good with my TYLT charger. Sweet spot is more forgiving than my note 5 on that thing.
I agree with everything else.
Grip is still pretty good. Less free feeling on a glass table. Grips a smooth surface.

A little darker black and about the same mold to camera as the factory one. A little raise but not above the lens.

I ordered the same listing, but brown
@skyline23 @secretLOVER which ones did you guys buy, mind sharing links?
I really dig that it looks very similar to the G4 backs.
If you search for user : connectionstation you should find it.
Does it charge to full capacity?
Is it quick charge?
Is there an overheating issue?

Thanks for your information, the wireless backs actually look better than I expected, the seller should use your pics, he would sell more of them I ordered one from another listing because it was so inexpensive although in most cases I'm going to prefer fast charging to wireless charging.
Just ordered the red one. Thanks for your review.

Yeh, the red looks good and matches the gold well, too bad the front of the phone is not red, and the back buttons, then it will be perfect.

If the the stations you bought are qi they should be compatible with a qi back. Someone mentioned fast chargers for samsung note not working.
Here is mine in Brown, didn't find this thread, was buried deep..

I would also like to know. Also, how sturdy are the clips on it? I might change my Battery out a couple times a month and don't want to have my back snap off.

It's as good as my original IMHO, tad snugger. So you press slightly harder to snap in place and have to run your nail through detaching most to get it off.
