Hi every one,
Today is my first day with xda premium app and am happy to tel u guys that I found out a easy way to edit .apk files right from ur rooted android mobile without the help of PC or development knowledge.. am a newbie not a dev!
So here is wat u need to begin
1) The apk file which u need to edit
2) Root explorer or any root file browser
3) Zipsigner 2 or any signing tool
4) patience to scroll between folders
So lets begin;
Open the root explorer and long click the apk file in /sdcard
Extract all the contents and go to extracted folder; in most of the case u get 5 files
Among them Delete Meta - inf folder and in res folder u can edit wat u want
Make sure not to delete anything except Meta Inf folder
Replace the png which u need
Remember while replacing a png the name should be exact as the parent file
After playing wit files go back and multiselect the remaining 4 files and zip them wit any name
After zipping rename the .zip file into .apk file using the same root explorer
Now go to zipsigner app and sign the modified apk file with platform key
Uninstall the app which u want to replace and install the modified apk and here u go u have ur customized app in ur menu LOLZ.. reply if u have any problems and pls pls don't forget to hit thanks button..
Hit thanks button if I had helped u..

Open apk as zip
Option ..
The same option is in root explorer as "extract the contents" and dealing with ninjamorph didn't help me and some times after applying theme using ninja and reboot whoa I was stuck at boot loop.. so this process is safe than any other
Using galaxy y and xda premium

You want to add or install the app? for installing the app below are the steps to be followed
Option1: (If you have apk file)
1. Place the apk file in /system/app folder using root explorer or es file explorer
2. give permissions to the app from file explorer
3. click on the app it starts installing
Option2: (if you have the zip file for app)
1. boot into recovery
2. install the zip from sdcard
3. Fix Permissions
4. Reboot now
In this forum I am gonna tell you how to get a custom android version.
( This Mod does not give your device the features of the version you'll make it to.
example - You have version of 2.3.5 and You changed it to 4.0.4. So don't dream that it will give you ICS in your device. It is just for the appearance and fooling your friendz that u have ICS! )
This mod has been tested on Micromax Superfone 4.0 A87
I have a Micromax A87 with a android version of 7.7.10!....
Tools required -
Rooted device
Root explorer
ES file explorer
and most important your brain... which internet cannot provide
Step-1
Download and Install RootExplorer from playstore.
Step-2
Open RootExplorer and grand it superuser permissions if asked.
Step-3
Scroll down untill you find a folder named 'system'
Open it.
Step-4
Find build.prop
Copy it by long tapping and go back and open folder named 'sdcard' ( this is your sdcard) and Paste
Step-5
Exit Root Explorer and open 'ES file Explorer' and select the build.prop you pasted earlier. Select ESnote reader when asked.
Find - "ro.build.version.release" and there will be the version number your device currently has.
In my device it was written as - "ro.build.version=2.3.5" and i changed it to - "ro.build.version=7.7.1"
Write the version which you want( as i did - "ro.build.version=7.7.1")
and save.
Step-6
Again Exit ESfile Explorer and open Root explorer
Step-7
Goto sdcard and copy the build.prop
Step-8
Goto System and change the Mounted as R/O to Mounted as R/W by selecting on the button succeeding it( the button is situated on the topmost area).
Step-9
Select Paste ( Left Hand corner of your screen)
Step-10
Exit Root Explorer and Reboot your Device and Its all done.
Now you have your own custom android version!
Post your Doubts related to this post and nothing else!

I posted this forum for the ones who just don't know anything. Not of the professional ones!
The bold red text makes me confused
this thread does not deserve one more post.
these apps are work 100% (I've only tried on G8 XXV firmware) :
1.Dialer (After install the Contact, it automatically turn into s5 skin , I guest )
2.Contact
3.Music
4.File manager
5.S voice
6.Launcher (My favorite app :victory but can't change the wallpaper in the launcher ( just open the gallery and change )
And gotta be update more
Instruction :
1 Go to this thread :http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-grand-2/themes-apps/ultimate-s5-mod-one-stop-s5-mod-t2846377 and download the link of the zip ( just copy and paste ).
2. Extract the zip and copy the "app" and "priv-app" into any file in your Grand 2.
3.Install any kind of root file manager (I recommend the Root explorer , it's easy to use )
TO INSTALL THESE APPS, YOU MUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION BELOW, ALL OFF THESE APP MUST SET THE PERMISSIONS TO WORK :
1. For the Dialer and Contact, open the Root explorer, safely backup your "SecContact_Osup.apk (and .odex)" and the " SecContactProvider.apk (and .odex)" . This is my way : copy those file to another file. After that, delete all of those file. Then copy the "SecContact.apk" and the "SecContactProvider.apk" in the zip to your "priv-app" file. After reboot, you'll have both the Dialer and Contact with S5 theme
2.For the Music app, do the same thing to backup the "MusicCommonUtility.apk ( and .odex too)" , "MusicLiveShare2.apk" (and odex) and the "MusicPlayerWT.apk" ( and odex). Then delete all of those and copy only the "SamsungMusic_20.apk" to the "app" file. Reboot
3.Just do the same thing for the File manager ( bakup the apk and odex then delete it and copy the app in the zip).
4. For the S voice, backup the apk, delete it, download the apk below, then copy to the "app" file and reboot.
5. Backup the and and odex of the "SecLauncher3", delete it, copy "TouchwizHome.apk" into "priv-app" and reboot. For themechooser, install the "ThemeChooser.apk" as a normal apk.
To have theme, go to this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711245
If have any bugs, just let me know.
If it work for you, hit the "thanks" button
I'm gonna post the "TouchwizHome", "ThemeChooser", "S Voice" later, just install the other apps
