[Completed] [Q] Backup only stock ROM before root. - XDA Assist

Hi,
I have micromax canvas magnus a117 and i want to root my device. But before this i want to back up only original ROM of my device. i dont want to backup any app or sd card data. just rom as i got originally whn i bought phone.
I used HOLO backup tool and it created backup of 3.73 gb while my external sd storage used is 3.79 gb. I did full backup with system app. Does this contain ROM back up too?
& after rooting can i unroot with this backup?
Or i have to take another ROM backup.....
Thanx in advance.
M noob.

[Q] Rooted Phone

Sorry i am a noob so please excuse me if i sound stupid ..
Well yesterday fr the first time i rooted my phone ..then i swapped my internal to external memory as well ..Now i want to flash a custom rom on so
do i have to swap the memory to original again ?? or will it still work on my phone ?? Secondly how or which app is easy to tack back up to ..
any help advisable
thanks
NOOB
Titanium backup will back up apps and delete bloatware you dont want....make sure you do a nan back up in recovery before you do anything ....in case you delete something you shouldnt
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
titanium
I second the recommendation of Titanium backup. The option to have it roll up all your current settings into a .zip makes it really easy to have everything back up and running after you flash.

[Q] ROM MANAGER will not backup my rom?

Hi all
i have a galaxy tab 2 GT-3100, running 4.2.2, cyanogen mod 10.1.
when i run Rom Manager is to backup my ROM it goes all the way to the end but does not save a backup in the backup dir it say it cannot find the sd card or the ext-sdcard even though there is a at least 2gig free space.
What must i do to correct this fault?
thanks
joe

Thanks for your replys
What i have learned is that in JB 4.2. CWM put these backups in a safe place on the SD card (cannot find the with a file explorer) but when i use CWM to ro restore my image it does it 100%
Don't know how to backup to ext SD.
thanks
Joe

You can change the settings in the cwm app to save them to a different location. However it only works if you initiate the backup from the app, not if you do it from recovery.
Sent from your phone. You should be careful where you leave that thing.

Backup means how via recovery???
Use the same recovery you used in your friends mobile for taking backup of your rom..
Check the baseband version and HBOOT version is same or not..
Backup is taken in a folder named clockworkmod in sd card..
Copy that whole folder in you sd card..
Go to recovery-> Select backup and restore->restore-> Select the backup file..
yup all same version recovery only -_- i used teamwin recovery ..

Plus are you coping the whole folder in your card then restoring it???
Buddy use that same recovery even the same version number..

[Q] What exactly will CWM's Recovery backup function do?

Hi, I have got a bit of a doubt here:
I am currently using CyanogenMod 10.2 on my Samsung Galaxy Trend aka Samsung Galaxy Ace 2x. Now I want to try and go back to the stock rom (TouchWiz from Samsung) but I may want to come back to CyanogenMod so I want to backup the whole current rom (apps included) but since the apps are installed in the sd, will ClockWork Mod's Recovery backup only the data in the internal memory? Will it also backup apps installed in the sd card? Will it backup the whole sd card?
What exactly will ClockWork Mod's recovery do when I press Backup?
really it will save your time. u can change between ur roms without using pc.

I wasn't gonna use my pc, just CWM's Recovery, the problem is that I don't know what CWM's recovery will backup and what not. That's what I want to know.
