Cm 12 launcher3 has stopped - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Was able to get into CM 12, and get it setup. Was in PS and went back to home and
"Unfortunately Launcher3 has stopped'. I have been able to go into settings and clear cache, reboot, but it still comes up in launch and I can no longer get into anything, other than settings. I've also cleared it's cash and data, rebooted... same result.
I've gone into TWRP and cleared cache, no difference.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

You probably set Launcher3 as your default launcher. Press on Clear Defaults and then select a launcher other than Launcher 3.

[Q] how to stop "ongoing" marketplace download??

Today when i was trying to update skype and download some other applications in the market, this below thing happened to me.
On my drag down task bar there are 17 "ongoing" downloads from android market. even though i cancelled everything, tried also to stop/remove market from app manager, stop google talk (i don't have this installed but i see it in running services?!), rebooting the phone, software repair (failed),... that thing is still there and never goes away.
i'm running out of ideas. anyone can help?
sony ericsson x10i 2.1 update-1
Try deleting the market cache/data. Go to settings > applications > manage applications, then the "all" tab. Find the market & force stop it. Then clear the data & the cache. If the notification is still there, reboot & it should go away.
if in MIUI rom there is a Downloads application to manage download.
duno where to get the apps

So the problem is that your status bar is stuck showing downloads, not necessarily the app itself.
Since you said you uninstalled & reinstalled the market, I'm assuming you're rooted. If this is the case, there's an app on the forums that kills your status bar then restarts it, but I'm not sure if it would work in your situation. It was made with the CM7 theme chooser in mind, so it may only work on 2.3. I'm not sure though, as I've never used it. You could also try booting into recovery & wiping your cache & dalvik cache. If you have a root level file explorer, try going to /cache and deleting any downloadfile.apk files you may see. They may be in /cache/download if that path exists.
If none of that works, you could try reflashing your rom over itself. Just wipe cache/dalvik, not data, and everything should remain as it was unless you've made changes to any system files. And if that doesn't work, I'm all out of ideas.
I am assuming that you've rebooted, but if for some reason you haven't, try that first.
em... now i can't download anything from the market anymore. everytime i choose to download something, it just adds up in the task bar and the downloading never ends. now i have accumulated 18 ongoing downloads even though they are not really downloading anything.
i have a rooted x10 but i cannot find any folder named /cache when browsing using astro file manager.
i don't know how to get into recovery mode to wipe off the cache as you said.
and yes, rebooting was the very first thing i did but it doesn't work...

I'm not sure how to get into recovery on your phone, but I'm sure a quick Google search would yield the answer. You can also try using a cache cleaner app, but it may not solve the problem. If you can get into recovery (again, I'm assuming you're rooted) then go to the "wipe" menu... it may say something else but the word wipe should be there. From there choose to wipe cache & dalvik cache. I think in ClockworkMod that wiping dalvik cache is under "advanced", but I'm not sure if that's your recovery version or if it's even available for your phone.
The only other option would be a factory reset.
Oh, and the /cache directory is on internal memory, not the SD card. Astro is not a root level explorer, so you would need Root Explorer or ES File Explorer.
hi,
i am experiencing the same issues and my phone is not rooted.
i've done the clear cache thing and still the issue persists. the phone also freezes up whereby it does not even register my touch and the screen just blanks out.
any other advice on this please for non-rooted phones??
Hi,
I've just seen this problem on a X10 mini upgraded to android 2.1 update 1.
The solution was to "clear data" and "force stop" for "Download Manager".
IE: go to settings/applications/manage applications, press menu key, select filter and set All, scroll until you find the "Download Manager" entry, select it and then click "clear data" and "force stop"
You can now go to the market and start again any install/upgrade that might have been stuck in the queue before.
Hope it works for you too!
Stupid xperia 10
Okay WTF!, this is the only thread online I found that deals with this problem. Is Sony really that incompetent?.
I've had this problem for a week, I am now upto 35 ongoing downloads. I only had 8 ongoing 3 days ago. I cannot download or install or download and install anything!. This is complete B.S.
I have done everything in this thread and nothing works. Sony still has not e-mailed me back. I am FURIOUS!, WTF is happening!. Why can't I remove these ongoing downloads/updates.
I've done the whole "application manager" B.S. but it won't let me force close my market. I've disabled wi-fi. I am losing my effing mind!.
HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY DEALT WITH AND CORRECTED THIS PROBLEM?. I will give you $5. This is getting retarded.
Oh and FYI "Download manager" does not appear in my list of apps what so ever, and there is no such thing as a "all" tab in my "manage applications" directory.
... Oh great!, I've uninstalled my market but my Icon still appears... Oh look at that the program works "ING! AWESOME!" considering IT DOESN'T EXIST ON MY PHONE ANYMORE! INCLUDING APPLICATION MANAGER! WTF!

THANK YOU! Add me to the list of grateful users as this also worked for me!
I was unable to stop the 'Download Manager' nor 'Downloads' apps, but I cleared cache & data for both, + all of the above for the Google Play Store; removed downloadfile.apk and 2-files from dalvik cache. Notifications stopped !
Then I rebooted. GP-Store (which was already current) indicated they were updating and required my acceptance. Then the store opened normally; I manually download ONE app.
I only download via Wi-fi so Wifi is my emergency panic button.
Thanks again!
thank me if. I helped u guys please im a newbie here
Hey dudes just do as I say during the force download goto settings>applications>manage applications then press menu > filter > all and search for download manager and tap it and force stop it , PROBLEM SOLVED KEEP SMILING , Any way I say xperia always rocks , mail me regarding any doubts

ADW Launcher - Keeps Crashing

I keep getting:
The application ADW.Launcher (process android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
It keeps looping this over and over when I force close.... please help
First go to settings, then applications then manage applications find adw clear cache or data, then if that doesn't work uninstall then reinstall, and if that doesn't work I'd say do a clean install of rom, by the way which rom are u running?

I can't even get into settings at all....this happens when it unlocks and keeps looping so I can't even get to my homepage.
I tried to get into the market via voice search for android market, but when I try and launch the market, the market app crashes too!.
The phone is currently stock 100%, just carrier code unlocked..
Yup, mine started doing this when I change themes. How does one get in touch with developers?

...i just wiped everything with CWM....no choice other than to install a new rom, what what I can see...

You could have deleted adw via adb while in cwm or even while booted into the os.

If you were 100% stock then that means you had installed adw launcher from the market. Correct? If that's the case then you could also have just done a factory reset from within cwm and it should've cleared up any issues as it would've deleted any user-installed apps, including adw launcher.
Either way glad you found a solution.

Problem already solved but just for others visiting this thread, there is a way to get rid of the issue (which worked for me). when there was crash in ADW Launcher, statusbar still works. This is to key to get back to original theme (as you can't access settings directly to set default theme)
Opened status bar, start internet.
From another device (or desktop machine), send a mail to yourself with google play link for the new theme you just installed
Your status bar will now have new mail notification (assume its activated)
Now access your mail app and open the link from the mail
Now you have browser app opened with google play page
You will have uninsatll option for that theme. Just do it.
Now as new theme is uninstalled, your default theme will come in picture and everything will be normal.
I hope this will help others fall in similar situation after installing new theme.

Sounds like you're rooted, remove the app from /system/apps and then install it as a user app and see if it helps. No crashes here.
Try flashing just the system file in fast boot...? Might fix it. Won't clear data....just your system type settings will be reset.

Play Services force-closing - fix?

Yes, this is a straight-forward fail - I am running a CM13-based ROM and flashed a nightly build (has been redrawn meanwhile) onto my N5 without backing up first. Right after the first reboot, I received a "Play Services has stopped working" error message and this keeps appearing all the time. Additionally, the Google Now Launcher has disappeared from my launcher list - and of course, all the Play Services-dependent features don't work, i.e. Chrome, Contacts sync, Play Store and so on. So, my phone basically is useless.
I suspect all the problems arise from the non-working Play Services. I managed to uninstall them after deactivating the Android Device Manager and re-installed the latest version, but this didn't fix the problem. Is there anything else I can try? Or is there no way around a complete wipe?
have u flashed Gapps?
Tried it, but didn't help either. I'll just go for a full wipe now. But thank you for answering!

try clearing Cache and dalvik cache and then delete the host file from "etc" folder!
I should've tried deleting the host file. Wiping Dalvik and Cache didn't work before...
Anyway, I took the opportunity, put my 32GB mainboard in and set up everything from scratch.
Are you using amplify?
No, I didn't use that.

Applications start crashing after Oreo update (S7)

Last night i upgraded from nougat to oreo and applications start to crash.
And in some games i can't even log in with facebook / twitter. Everytime time i hit the login with facebook/twitter button, the game crash.
Torrent application not showing any text / pic.
The battery is not draining fast, but faster than nougat's.
Some application don't make to their page. Some do, but few seconds later *crash*.
Octopus' (keymapping app) service is running but the app always crashes when i try to run it.
SmartThings, sometimes bluetooth keyboard and mouse stop working.
I tried factory reset on setting, clearing cache on recovery mode. Nothing works.
I appreciate any help!
Uninstall and reinstall the apps, or clear data and not just cache in app manager.
Personally I always do a clean wipe on new OS versions partially because of this reason, you bring up old data from the previous version and often causes issues.

I did factory reset through setting menu, should i try hard reset?
Ah I thought you meant you reset the app settings. But yes a factory wipe in recovery is going to be more thorough than one through settings.
Other wise you can do a full flash in Odin using the stock firmware files, that method doesn't trip knox / warranty etc
