Practicing Java? - General Topics

I've been teaching myself Java through various ways, and I was wondering where I could go to actually practice it. Like is there a site that I can go to that has problems for me to solve etc?

App development

Ok, so I've been trying to learn android. I have good ideas for apps, but something about java throws me off. Does anyone have any tips for developing apps, like a good sample to start with, something to just look at. Im lost completely.

If you know Javascript, you may try framework like phonegap (+ jquerymobile)

How would I make a forum mobile?

How would I make a forum mobile? What I want to do is essentially, have a forum that is accessible from our android phones once it was downloaded from the market. Would I have to rent a domain/server or integrate it site with an android app? I mean how would I do this exactly?
I am proficient in C programming, GTK UI programming, Bash/AWK. I am a beginner in NASM assembly, JavaScript, python. Also, I can pick up a language very easy because of my C programming background! So, I am not a noob to software and development. Thanks
Ipb pro has mobile skins by default.

so what, just go to proboards, and copy the forum URL, etc and it will then become a mobile app like xda?

No IpBoards is like vbulletin but if you get the pro version it comes with a mobile skin as default.
That doesnt sound like it would be free. I am trying to do this so it would be free... for me as well as the people who use the forum.
xda has a free app. What is that built with/on? vbulletin I assume?

That is just a tapatalk mod which should work with most forums.

Require an Android app developer

Hello, my name is Andrew Dolan.
Until now I have used an application generator to create my application as I have practically no coding knowledge and no time to learn.
My application has received 5,500 downloads on the Play Store. However, I think that if my application were coded rather than being spat out by an application maker, the app could be very successful.
I'm not willing to discuss the nature of the application here.
If you are interested in helping me out, contact me at
[email protected]
and I'm sure we can figure something out.
Thank you very much.
What app did you make??
And are there app generatora

you can hire some developers to build the app..Lots of companies do provide resource hiring on per hour/day basis.
