I had to get a replacement phone because the volume button stopped working.
I don't know if it's just me, but it seems that the display on this new one is very washed out and had a pinkish tint to it... I don't know, it just doesn't look right.
Does anyone else have this issue, or is it all in my head? I am a picky person
UPDATE: I just called Verizon for a replacement with no problems. Hopefully this new one has a fresh screen.

Sounds like a display panel issue to me. I would definitely beginning another replacement. I know its a hassle but I that would drive me nuts. I know if you're not happy with it you can have another replacement ship to you. I wouldn't wait too long though get it taken care of as soon as possible

I'm just afraid that they will say since there is nothing wrong with it, they won't give me a replacement or that they will charge me for another one.

I definitely call them and find out that information for sure. I'm sure if there's an issue with the phone that they'll send you another one free of charge. Just call and explain it to him. You don't know until you ask. Now it specially since you're on the newest firmware you can't root it I would definitely be exploring my options

I may do that.
Also, I just now noticed, but the top of the display bleeds. So I probably will get a replacement.

I would definitely get a replacement. This phone has the best LCD I've ever used on a mobile device. Colors are fantastic, whites are white, any there's absolutely no light bleed. It sounds to me like you have a defective unit.

I know it does. The screen on my last one was fantastic. I may call support next week and try and get a replacement. I do expect some hassle, though.

Turn your screen off and you'll see that there are no lights. When I turn my screen back on I'll see the buttoms. It's just the lights aren't bright enough. Can someone else post a screen shot of theirs?

Those lights look REALLY faint too.
I cann't understand how is possible some phones to be defective (either is the not lighted back button, either is GPS issue etc) and some to work properly....???
Aren't all from the same company (Samsung)??? Don't all phones manufactured in the same production line???
What the [email protected] is going on??? I cann;t believe what i am reading in all Nexus S threads...
Isn't supposed to be all phones exactly the same ones????

Double rainbow?! What does this MEEEAAAAN?
In seriousness, no two things are identical. Some phones could have been damaged in shipping, or slipped through the quality assurance program. Just because a company mass produces a product doesn't mean that each one of them are exactly the same.

Wuddup Freshly? I haven't seen you since back in the day on the Cyanogenmod MT3G forums.
Anyways, I think the problem he is referring to is when you go to hang up, the screen just stays black (g-sensor not working correctly) instead of the screen lighting up to hit end. I've seen the screen light up but not respond when taking the phone away from your ear also. Let's hope these bugs get taken care of very soon with an OTA, along with many others.
An unlocked BL would be better so I can fix these little problems myself but I'm not holding my breath to receive it soon.

My friend got his yesterday and came by my house for me to root it etc, i had already updated to 4.4.4 (the second ota aswell) and his capacitive buttons were actually brighter than mine (he was 4.4.2 and i was 4.4.4).
That said, no, they did not get brighter.
While I agree they don't appear any brighter, its really a non issue for me. After a few days of using the phone, I already know where the buttons are.
No one cares... Although I agree I notice no difference
Obviously people care if they are posting in this thread. Have a good day

Is there a way to fix it?

Yes, I'm under warranty but I've bought the phone from China and I'm from Italy, only the ship cost will be more than the repair.
There's no place to repair a china phone here, nobody even known the phone
But it's a problem that has a lot of OPO and the manufacturer said that, they're good enough and, even N% has yellow screens...
But I'm really not happy with this phone, not only for the yellow line.
There is no way to fix it, with usage and time it gets slightly better. 99% of phones have this, so you should not have bought the phone, if you think this is a deal breaker.

I didn't know that this kind of phone has this kind of screen. Obviously I never bought a phone with this defect.
I really never bought a phone even if I had known the state of Cyano 11s.
But it'd definitely my fault.
Thanks for the answers.
There's an entire thread dedicated to this. Try using a UV lamp (found at a nail salon) for ten minutes with the device turned off.

I have never had that problem
The display stopped working 2-3 days ago. On booting i can see the google logo for 2-3 seconds before the screen goes dark. The phone works and i can hear dings of messages, but i cant access any of it. Once i kept shut it for a day i was able to see the screen for 10-15 seconds( i used this window to remove the screen lock so that i can use the usb transfer ). Now keeping the phone shut for long duration has no effect.
I can see the fastboot screen but not the recovery screen throught it.
I also bought a slimport so that i could see the screen on my pc. It works (not for the fastboot or recovery), however the touch doesn't work and the volume and power buttons response is too sluggish. I can connect the mouse but it is of no use as i can't see the screen on PC and use the mouse at the same time. I tried adb ( i have no experience of it ) but i cant touch the allow pernmissions key on the screen for the above reasons. Also what advantage would adb be in this case?.
Any advice ?

Oh, you mean sending it to LG for servicing? I am a bit hesitant since i have cyanogenmod and also am in india and i doubt they will give a replacement. I think going back to stock rom and then sending it for repairs might help but i have no idea how to go about doing that in this situation.

I do t understand the question. Is this question one you're asking having already read the fastboot return to stock guide?
Same issue I had pretty much, it died about 2 months ago. I was still able to copy all of my files, phone worked perfectly but the screen was black. Had it replaced it no time. Is that by any mean a 311k? I've seen another thread like that pop up lately.

I don't know yet, I'm just trying to figure out whether it's a particular batch that started failing or it's completely random, just curious. The two replacements I was sent were 403K. Build is perfect, but they both had some light bleed issues. Looks like every batch comes with some good and some bad, QC definitely hasn't been too great on this phone.

They're not really built in batches. Manufacturing was continuous. They just changed the serial number every time the month changes so I dont think this would actually mean anything
I know but I'd still use it as a milestone more than anything, I mean there have been some differences in the units (eg bigger speaker holes), this way it's easier to track them along the timeline, because they definitely do change something in the manufacturing process from time to time if they have to make up for issues or something. They also did it with the N4 if I remember well.

Speaker holes is a bad example because even the latest built devices it was still a lottery whether you got bigger or smaller holes. That's down to what you mentioned earlier, QC

I was able to unroot and flash the stock image. The problem still exists though, so it has to be a hardware issue. Fortunately the phone is still in warranty.
Thanks for all the support.
