[Q] How to Get GMail Unread Count on Edge Screen? - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If I have an unread text message, the icon for the messaging app displays a little "1" on it. This is not the case for the GMail icon, though. Any idea how to get that indicator?
I had it working on my Note 3, but I was using Nova Launcher with the Tesla Unread Plugin. Can I use that, or something similar, to get the unread notification on GMail? It'd be a nice little feature to have over in that edge screen.

im having the same issue. and nova sucks on the edge..

I used Nova on my Note 3 and I loved it. Waiting for Nova to provide Edge support before installing it on my Edge.

[Q] SMS Notification Icon in Lockscreen ???

Hi guys, i was using a stock samsung galaxy S2 android and moved into something brilliant and way better ( Pure ICS ROM)
there is only 1 thing i miss from the touchwiz Galaxy s2, and it is the notification icon that you get when an SMS is received or when a phone call is received and you miss it.
I am talking about the red circle that popups on the lockscreen on stock samsung galaxy S2 for unread SMS and missed calls.
I would like to know if there is an app or apk that could bring that SMS/phone notification icon on the lockscreen once again. That was way nice to see if i missed a call clicking just 1 button.
The only thing that came close to that is an app called notifier pro plus, that creates a banner on the lockscreen, but it has some flaws, because sometimes you are using web browser and doing other things and the banner popups not only on the lockscreen but everywhere
nobody?
In ICS, the notification bar can be pulled down on the lockscreen, so you don't need them to show on the lockscreen. Just pull down your notifications.

You can buy widget locker and use any widgets on lockscreen

I have been searching around for a solution of the above question myself, and found that everyone keeps saying to use the notification bar etc - not really helpful, and doesn't answer the question
I found a free lock screen app called 91Locker which will display a notification for unread messages and missed calls on the lock screen, plus a few other nifty features
Hope this helps anyone else that comes this issue
Lockscreen notifications
Hi.
Nicolas from Productigeeky here, creator of NotifierPro.
You may want to try our last app LockerPro, it is a lockscreen replacement with stacking notifications.

[Q] Hangouts App Notification Badges Issue

Hey everyone
My girlfriend just came over from and iPhone to the S4. I got her the new Hangouts update, but she's having issues with the lack of a notification badge when looking at the app on either the home screen or app drawer (this functionality is in the default messages app for the S4 as well as what she was used to on the iPhone). I brought her over to Hangouts because of what it can do, but she won't use it if she doesn't know that there's a new message (she's not used to the notification bar) and would instead stick to the sms only messages app.
Does anybody have either a short or long term fix to bring notification badges to the Hangouts app?
Thanks in advance

Missed calls not showing up on the phone Icon? Thoughts?

So, running marshmallow on my S6 Edge and using Nova prime as my launcher. For some reason, if I have a missed call, it does not show up on the phone icon on the bottom of the screen. Any thoughts? Thanks!

SMS messaging apps not showing number of unread messages on widget

I am using a Nexus 5 (with Android marshmallow).
I am having trouble showing the correct number of unread messages on the message widget.
I use Evie launcher instead of the standard Android one because I prefer the extra options offered.
There is a setting in the launcher Unread Badges.
These setting got the phone and email widgets working correctly but the SMS message widget (Texta) now shows 99+ all the time.I tried other message apps and they all show 99+ after install and launch. Texta worked properly after installation but shows 99+ after reboot.
Does anyone know of a SMS Message app that works correctly regarding the widget showing the correct number of unread messages?
Thanks
It is obviously a difficult problem to resolve since no one has replied.
In the meantime I have installed Nova Launcher Prime that has reasonable Unread Badge controls. These options allow the number unread SMS's, unread emails and unanswered phone calls to be shown on the respective icons on the home screen.
With the Nova homescreen launcher I now have my icons working fine.

How Can I get rid of new pop-up notifications?

I am currently using Galaxy S9 Plus on Verizon and with Apex launcher. From the last week, when I get a text message or a new message in Facebook Messenger I don't just get a notification in the bar at the top, but an actual pop-up that comes up over the top of anything else and goes all the way across the top of the screen and about three quarters of an inch tall. It stays up for four or five seconds before going away. As you can see this is pretty annoying and I have tried to control it but I can find no setting regarding this matter. It does not seem to be app specific as it comes up with texts, voice mail notifications, Facebook messenger message notifications and maybe others. Does anyone know how to get rid of these and have just the normal notifications?
