On the phone (Samsung galaxy SII) I can see all the *.mp4 files stored on the external SD card, but I cannot see them in the Explorer on my computer (Windows8) when I couple my phone to the computer with the USB cable, I can see all the other files on the mobile phone though. Any suggestions?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant and when i plug the USB into it and connect it to my HP Pavilion G6, it says that the phone is charging but it won't allow me to mount it or connect it in any way to download anything onto my phone or SD card. I just want to download my Itunes library onto my phone but it won't let me. Help anybody?

in the notification bar it will show usb connected...click on that and press connect to storage thats all sir.

Hello guys. I believe before I would able to go Computer, GT-N8013 then select both hard drive and able to access all my pic and video now it doesn't show new pic and some of older pic i had this problem for a while. I'm not sure if it's because I upgraded the version but I did remember
I did a factory reset. Also seem to be a bit slow to load up preview in gallary. Os I use is Windows 7 and Window 8. I want to view all the files. Any idea? Yes the new photos is in my gallery.
Have you installed Samsung USB drivers or Kies ???

I had a problem recently where I could see photos in the gallery on my Note but the PC could not read the SD card either by USB connection or by plugging the SD card directly into the PC card reader. I only realised there was a problem when I could not delete a photo from the tablet!
The solution for me was to reformat the SD card on the PC (the format card option on the tablet had no effect) and then (sigh) copy all 16gb off photos back to the card.
If your problem is with the internal storage then this doesn't really help but ultimately it may be worth considering reformatting the internal SD storage.

Well I am able to delete photo on the tablet. Problem is I am able to access the internal and external memory except the new photo it wont show up if i connect to computer but does show up the old picture. Another thing is on my S2 once i changed back to stock rom i have same problem. What I can do is zip all the pic of internal then upload to a host website. I didn't had this problem with my Samsung Galaxy note tablet on 16gb now I have the 32 gb tablet since i got rid of 16gb version in Mexico. Kies is a no go. I'll try samsung driver but thing is my computer do detect the device and able to access the old files and files i put in.
Hi. This is my first post so please forgive me. I just installed the new KitKat Custom ROM by Echoed onto my GT-N8020 Galaxy Note 10.1. I have installed many ROMs on many devices with no problems. ROM installed fine as always but now I have a problem. When I connect to my computer via USB I cannot see the external SD card in My Computer. The internal SD is displayed though. I have tried Googling all day with no luck. All I can find is info on the SD permissions problem etc. Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone know how to fix this as I am stumped. Any help is very much appreciated. Cheers

when you plug it in, does it show up as usb mass storage device, or as mtp device?

Hi...on the tablet I have 2 options...mtp or camera. I tried both but still not visible on computer. I will check further when I get home from work to check again. Thanks

first off, it has to be in mtp mode, not camera to even have a chance.
have you tried other cables/ports/cards? try putting the card in only when the tab is already in the pc, or putting the card in a powered off phone and booting up the phone once its connected, or failing that, just use a micro sd card reader.
you can alos try apps like ums for galaxy s3 (from playstore) and see if it works for you.
To enable Mass Storage mode, do the following:
Download Terminal app
Then type this, and press enter after each line:
su
setprop persist.sys.usb.config mass_storage
reboot
After rebooting, plug it in, mount usb storage. If required, format it.
Thanks guys. Unfortunately I didn't get to try the terminal command as I didn't know about that one. In the end I got rid of Echoes KitKat ROM for n8020 and installed original Cyanogen ROM and voila......all problems gone. Must be a lot of bugs in the Echoe ROM as external SD Card was not visible on computer or even writable to. And 4g was not working.

When ever is I want to transfer apps to my microsd, it seems to make them disappear or appear as if they went installed. The icon changes to a small pic of the sd with the name changed to its, what I presume is the file location. I would like to know does this mean that the sd card is corrupt. I usually do the transfer myself and may explain why some song cannot copy over succesfully from PC to Card
I have attempted using various versions of Andriod which have support the feature. Basically I want to find out how I can check the card really and see if it is at fault? Currently on Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, but have had S2 & S3 galaxy

It usually means that SD card is not ready. It could be due to slow speed , or slow processing of OS , due to a faulty card or due to inserting a wrong card. The icon will only change to normal only if it finds the necessary files in th SD card.

Hi. I'm new to this so can someone please help me out.
I have a Verizon Samsung note 4. It is running on the lollipop OS. I haven't tried anything in awhile with the micro sd card since I had my note 2. Anyway I recently found that I can not delete files, move files, or write to the SD card. Every time I try to delete a file, I am prompt the file was deleted successfully. But it hasn't been cleared. Also I can download music to my card.
I've read there is a fix to gain functionality of the sd card again. I've read some posts that a similar problems but they have either a different phone and using KK OS. I haven't seen anything about the Note 4 using the Lollipop OS.
Any help would be much appreciated. I am computer savvy, but cell phones are a horse of a different color.
