I have a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant and when i plug the USB into it and connect it to my HP Pavilion G6, it says that the phone is charging but it won't allow me to mount it or connect it in any way to download anything onto my phone or SD card. I just want to download my Itunes library onto my phone but it won't let me. Help anybody?

in the notification bar it will show usb connected...click on that and press connect to storage thats all sir.

When I plug my usb cord into my Infuse and into my desktop, the desktop doesnt see the Infuse. I have the usb settings set to use the Infuse as a mass storage device, but nothing. If I put any other device or card in one of my slots, the computer instantly see's the device and reads it.. help

Try going to samsung, i had to install this driver file then i could access my files on the phone and sd card. http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/SGH-I997ZKAATT

If you are running windows 7 and all else fails, open device manager and find the samsung or unknown device and try to uninstall all samsung drivers, be sure when the computer asks if you want to uninstall the files too to select "yes/ok". After doing that reboot the computer let it settle down til the hard drive lite indicator on computer does not blink.
After that securly plug the usb cable into the phone and into the computer
wait 15-30 seconds more or less and if you are running windows 7 and are connected to internet then windows will automatically install fresh drivers into your computer and most likely your problem will be solved..
If this solves the problem it means that your samsung drivers for some reason got corrupted.
Also just because your computer reconizes "other cards" that does not mean that it will reconize your samsung phone.. The samsung fone requires specific drivers to be install for it to reconize your phone.
For sdcards, flash drives, external hard drives windows only uses its generic usb drivers, thats why your computer reconizes the usb cards properly now even though it does not reconize your phone.

i Have this problem: when i plug my p3100 to my Macbook pro with Mac Os X Snow Leopard the Tab says that is connected and to choose if i want it mounted as an archieve or as a camera. when i check camera i can import phoos from the internal device memory, but i i check archieve nothing happens, with my Galaxy S Plus GT-I9001 when i do so i see the internal and external sd-card as archieve and i can use them as a normal usb drive, but this won't hapen with the p3100. so i tried to install Android File Transfer but it says that is impossible to connectto the device to restart and try again.
I have tried with stock ICS stock JB OTA Update and now with PAC-rom, but it never works ((
i also tried adb! and with adb devices it is detected but if i try to transfer somthing to it via adb push it takes a lot of time and when the process ends i do not have any file on the tab!!!
Can someone help me to figure out how to do connect my tab to the computer and transfer files to it??
Yeah, macs don't support MTP, so the "media device" connection option isn't going to work out of the box. Dunno why Android File Transfer is erroring out though. At this point maybe the simplest solution is to get a MicroSD card and reader and transfer the files by moving the card between devices and using ES File Explorer to move them wherever they need to go.

For your 'before', it is because you are on Samsung stock ROM. Samsung Kies only recognises devices running Samsung-based stock/modified ROM. Custom ROMs are not based on Samsung ROM, so Kies cannot detect them.
There is actually an exploit in CM11, try to turn USB debugging on while uncheck MTP and PTP. It works for me to detect my external SD card although official fix is still in progress. If this still does not work for you, you can either take out your external SD card and plug into your card reader to transfer or search for file transfer apps / software that uses wifi as transfer medium.

Try an app called Airdroid. With it you can transfer files using your web browser in your computer.
CM11 doesn't support USB (yet)
On Nexus 4 or Samsung n9002 in CM11, you can't even check/uncheck MTP and PTP. USB is not supported if you have these devices. The USB computer connection screen simply crashes. :'(

i connected the phone to my PC. In Phone MTP is checked. but i cannot transfer a file to my phone. i dont get any drive shown in my PC. but in
pc under hardware devices the nexus 5 phone is shown. Please help..
If i turn on USB debugging in phone, then a drive is shown in "This PC" i was able to transfer any file to phone from PC. but after copying some files and flashing some ROMS i internal storage became somewhat problematic. it doesnt show files properly. please help me with it

Remove PIN as security option and check
Also re-install the drivers properly
Also check whether it's working fine on other PC or not using different usb cable

On the phone (Samsung galaxy SII) I can see all the *.mp4 files stored on the external SD card, but I cannot see them in the Explorer on my computer (Windows8) when I couple my phone to the computer with the USB cable, I can see all the other files on the mobile phone though. Any suggestions?
