[Q] Bootloader unlocked - Root without custom recovery? - General Questions and Answers

Hey guys.
I've got a Moto Maxx XT1225 (similar to Verizon's Droid Turbo).
The bootloader is unlockable, but I was wondering if it's possible to get root since there's no custom recovery for it yet.
If yes, how?
Usually I unlock the bootloader, then install a custom recovery and flash supersu with it.
If there's no custom recovery, I have no idea what to do.

[Q] Installing a custom rom

Hi,
I was wondering if you had to be rooted to install a custom rom on my phone. Thanks
Rooted no. S-off or unlocked by HTCdev yes.
Once your either one of the above, you need to flash a custom recovery, then you can install roms and root.
my phone was originally on vodafone but today i switched to 3 i was wondering if i flash the 3 ruu to my phone will it come with all the correct settings and 3 boot logo etc? Thanks

[Q] Moto G 4G XT1039 Root

Anyone had any success with root on Moto G 4G XT1039? Haven't tried it myself, as I am unsure what to do, especially with no stock rom or custom recovery available as far as I am aware. A little hesitant to try it without advice. About to try the following:
1. Unlock bootloader via Motorola Website
2. Fastboot flash boot recovery (XT1032)
3. Flash SuperSU
Hello,
I'm new here and will follow this with great interest. I'm about to receive mine, supposed to be a XT1039 too.
Keep up.

2. Fastboot flash TWRP recovery (Should I do XT1032 or XT1045 recovery - I've seen posts suggest both but noone has confirmed??)
3. Flash SuperSU

From what I've read, there is no 100% working recovery for the xt1039 - I *booted* from the xt1045 recovery to install the SuperSU.zip, and it worked absolutely fine on my xt1039. Just run "fastboot boot recovery recovery.img"
have you came across this thread? the custom recovery won't work but you will be rooted...

[Q] How to access Lenovo S890

I have a Lenovo S890 and I managed to flash a custom firmware but it resulted in a bootloop, I managed to install the stock rom but now I am looking forward to know how to access the bootloader in order to unlock it coz I recently seen in an article that to flash a custom rom successfully you needed to have an unlocked bootloader. How can I access the bootloader?

(Q) Install Xposed with no custom recovery?

Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to successfully install xposed on Moto Gs without having a custom recovery installed. I'm asking for this because I don't want to mess too much with my phone and to keep it as clean as possible.
Thank you
Moto G XT1032

Bootloader unlocked
As far as I know there's no possibility to install xposed for Lollipop without custom recovery. But I don't understand why you don't want to flash a recovery when you have already "messed" your device with unlocked bootloader and root! It is just one step forward.

Well the bootloader can be locked again and the root can be removed as well. Maybe custom recovery too?
Alternatively, can the custom recovery be flashed temporary to then flash xposed?
But even if you lock it again motorola already knows it and when you lock it again it will show a different code from the original locked one
You can temporarily boot into a custom recovery and install xposed.
Just type fastboot boot <thenameoftherecovery>

Is it possible to flash custom roms on a rooted droid maxx

Ive heard that you cant install custom roms on a droid maxx simply because the bootloader is locked. But if my phone is rooted is it possible to install custom roms like CM if so how do I do it?
No you can't install custom Roms as it is necessary to unlock the bootloader prior installation of roms.
