I don't know what happened but last night I was on my bed using Opera and the touchscreen just stopped being accurately or responding to my touches. I thought it was nothing so I turned the phone off and did the screen alignment however the problem comes back after a few minutes.
It's not that the screen isn't sensing my touches, its that its always either too far down or too far up. So i'll be clicking on calender to get to my call history. I always have to keep doing the screen alignment and sometimes that goes into a loop where I have to do it 10 times before it works. Then after a few minutes the problem creeps back up.
Help me, is my phone stuffed? I even removed the screen protection and nothing works it seems.
And now the alignment is far too up so I can't press phone, contacts or send. Goddamn.
Could be a problem with the touchscreen, or perhaps you haven't mastered using the touchscreen. I sometimes have problems pressing tiny areas on it. If it works with the stylus without problems then it's fine, otherwise it sounds like the touchscreen is faulty.
No I've been using this phone without any problems for the last month and a half since I got it. This problem just suddenly came up.
I am with Three Australia, is it under warranty or free repair?
Anyone? This is getting annoying.
Bump again sorry.
Within the last hour my touch screen will not work or respond to anything. I have done a soft reset, removed the battery and nothing. The buttons on the phone work (send, back, home etc.) but the screen wont respond. I noticed a little oil spot in the last few days but it was working fine. I need some help here
I too..
am having the same problem as of this morning....
I got this problem 2 days ago. If someone changed the screen and it started working please reply it.
Same here.I used to flash NRG's Roms and i had always the same issue. The screen was tapping by her self at the down left side.Only by soft reseting the device it was stopping. Now i tried 2 flash another rom but unfortunately, i'm stuck in the beggining. And 2 be more precise at the screen alignment procedure.Nothing works except the buttons but in this moment are useless

Same problem! I also have the little blue oil spot. Not sure how it happened -- could've sworn it was safe in my pocket since the last time it was working. Did it get wet or something?

The touch screen on my phone just stopped working last night after I had a 1hr conversation, the screen now has a black circle in the middle which is clearly noticeable when the phone is switched off. Is it possible and easy to be replaced and where is the best place to get the parts from please? I got the phone from T-mobile.
So my TF700 is becoming difficult to use due to areas on the screen not responding to touch. It works fine for a few hours after power on. After a few hours the center of the screen doesn't respond at all. About 2 inches on the sides respond, but very slow and unresponsive. I used to leave it on all the time, but now I only turn it on when needed so it can be used. Any thoughts?

Hmm, I had exact the same issue. Only 1/3 part of the screen was responding to touched. But I also two cracks under the screen, not sure if they were related.
Anyhow, seems like a warranty issue. In my case I tired to reset it, but it didn't help.
i had similar issue with keyboard dock, i noticed it lost response when i open the tab away too far. I did a quick check and went into settings->developer options and enabled visual response to touch. And there it was, a white ghost dot just up and left from the center of screen. Turning screen off and back on fixed the issue.
On further testing i found that if you squeeze the black rim section at the point of about midway between the left dock lock and the wire connector, it creates the ghost input at the top left of screen. on/off screen resets back to normal. Most likely glass design causes touch detection when glass is bent a bit from outside the screen. So basically don't squeeze on the black rim too much and dont fold open with too much force while docked.
This was quite often the first 2 months, but now my dock connector hinge became much more soft and the problem almost never happens.
Hi,
I have this really weird stuff going on with my Nexus 5 screen. I cracked it a couple months ago and bought a legit replacement screen for it and installed it myself (glass, lcd and frame). I fixed it with good instructions and it worked properly for two months. However though, now when I take it out of a pocket and try to turn screen on, sometimes it just doesn't light up. It's still on and every button works but the screen doesn't turn on. I have to give it a light tap or two on the back in order to make it light up again. Same thing happens sometimes when I'm using the phone normally, the screen just goes black and goes on after tapping it couple of times. Otherwise the phone works normally like it did when I bought it two years ago and after running couple of tests with screen, everything seems to work from touch interface to the graphics card.
Tried looking it up, no results.
I've noticed that the front camera doesn't work for some reason (probably just broken) and the battery lasts in use only 2-4 hours which isn't that much of an issue since I'm looking for a new phone. I just want this one to last long enough till I buy a new one.
It comes up when tapping the screen or power button? It could be a power button issue.
The screen comes back on when tapping the screen or the back of the phone. The power button isn't the issue. The screen just goes black but nothing else happens. It doesn't turn off or go to sleep mode.
Strange issue. I've never experienced it and any problems I had were related to the power button.
Could it be a loose connection inside the phone? Maybe an issue related to the proximity sensor?
Thats actually what I've thought. I have checked the phone's insides twice and didn't see loose connections, and the problem feels like it's related to proximity sensor since the screen going black happens exactly same way that when calling someone or doing something else where proximity sensor shuts the screen. It's really weird though...
Huh, I took backplate off and unscrewed the motherboard cover and took everything apart and rebuilt it and now the problem is gone. Seems like there was just some bad connection somewhere.
Glad you got it to work without having to pay someone to fix it
