Can someone please make a morph/theme for a rooted stock rom (FRG83D)? There are sooo many themes for CM et al, but I want to stay close to stock with the new black status bar...is it possible
I am wanting the same

which stock rom are u using
I'm using this one... I've looked everywhere for just a gingerbread status bar that works on this rom, but they all seem to work for Cyanogen or other modded roms, and it may be silly of me, but I just prefer to run a stock rom on my phone...
http://db.tt/8vVBbeT and if u want the stock stuff let me know all u will need to do is push the framework which I can walk u through that

Yes, i would very much like the stock walkthrough...
first u need to flash the file file i posted above via recovery
Then push this file to with adb to /system/framework/framework-res.apk http://db.tt/DblQRA9 if u need more help with this just let me know
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Here u go just flash this in recovery it has the gingerbread stock icons and battery without % hope this helps
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Thanks for the update but did you forgot to link to the newest one? I tried the flash file and it worked fine except the time is still in black and therefore mostly unreadable. Pushing the framework-res.apk you posted caused notification text to also be black. Also, the flash file does have the battery %.
Thanks
Here you go http://db.tt/K4z8lAD. Sorry about that. I am going to update it again tonight this will remove % and your clock and motivation should be white this time
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
This actually made the notifications black and kept the clock black. Also the wifi signal went from green to grey/white.
Yea I know all the images are from the sdk gingerbread here is one to test to get the text back to white. http://db.tt/K4z8lAD let me know if that fixes it.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
And if u want the green let me know I can make one tonight.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
And are u talking a out the text notification being black
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Sorry, still all black. Thanks for trying!
The clock is black and the notification status that shows up in the status bar is black. The notifications in the notification drop down are also black but those are fine as the background isn't black. The first update you posted (Gingerbread_v1.2.zip) had the notification text correctly in white but the clock was black.
Flash this until I can get it fixed http://db.tt/GLez7qz

I recently saw 6 or 7 threads about the stock deodexed browser lag on scrolling. Actually the fix is all over the web. It's about a bug in framework.jar. The idea is to get the class.odex file, decompile it, fix the bug and recompile.
Pretty simple stuff.
Attached is the fixed framework.jar file. This is the file I made to fix my own browser on stock deodexed kj6 with a stock kj6 kernel.
Feel free to try it if you like. Backup is suggested as there are no guarantees, although it should work for most.
To use -
1. overwrite the original file inside /system/framework/ with root explorer or any other file browser with root.
2. reboot
For Airfluip's AOSP rom see post 25
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19920236&postcount=25
For Octane 3 with PowerMenu installed see post 36
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20520412&postcount=36
Enjoy.
BTW, you'll notice that this file is actually smaller than the original... Winrar rules!!!
haha wow thanks, i just posted a question on that about 2 or 3 hours ago
I replaced the .jar file. Running kj1 kernel with kj6 stock. Never noticed lag before but seems fine either way. File recompiled is way bigger then the orig framework.jar
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Dude, kj6 stock is not deodexed, so framework.jar is tiny and framework.odex is huge also, odexed version never had lag anyways. So if odexed, don't need to. replace
In deodexed, the framework.odex is repacked into a smaller classes.dex file, and is placed within framework.jar. So instead of 2 files 1 tiny(the one you commented on) and 1 huge, they are both combined into 1 medium-large file(framework.jar with the classes.dex)
Also, for the thread, I can't believe we didn't find that before. I am placing a link to it in my rom thread, and if you don't mind, may I please embed this within my rom?
Thanks for finding this fix, I don't use the stock anways, but nice to know we'll have a fixed broswer for future releases.
Airfluip: why would I mind? Feel free to use it any way you want.

Don't fix something that is not broken. The file was intended to fix a bug in the deodexed rom. Not in the stock odexed one. The reason you didn't notice the problem is because you never had it.

Not sure what you mean, but all you need to do is to overwrite the existing file with this one. It really doesn't matter whether you delete the original first or simply overwrite it. The result is the same.
It's not a bad idea to copy the original to some backup folder first, just in case.
I posted earlier I never noticed difference. I put his framework in rebooted then the orig backup of framework.jar I put it back rebooted and bootloop. Had to flash gb rom again

Would it be possible to port the galaxy s value pack firmware to our phone?
You can try and let us know.
Value pack is basically 2.3.6 stock with :
1. Face Recognition - you can actually download and install 'Visidon Applock' which does the same job.
2. Touchwiz 4 - I use GO Launcher EX and advise you to do it too.
3. Photo Editor from SGSII - I'm pretty sure there are better photo editors but i'm downloading this ROM and will try to take this app from.
4. More lock screens - silly, you have plenty of lock screens on Valhalla ROMs...
the rom i deodexed it makes a lot of ram space and more harder to port
tried to copy/paste the apk all i get is fc
this will take our backsmali/smali skills to the max ;-)

I'm really confused and hoping someone can help...
I'm on rooted stock ICS... attempted to use the kitchen for some basic changes status bar icons and such.. and flashing the uot file did not work for the battery, wifi icon, or data icon... as I have done before, identify the framework APK, opened it in 7z, and added the images I wanted to use. I used root explorer to push the APK back, mounting the proper folder...
but even after wiping the cache and dalvik, the images refuse to change.
I have since extracted the APK, to verify that the images were there and everything looked right and it does. So where is ics pulling the images from that its using??
Any help would be appreciated.

It's been a while since I've heard anyone talk about the kitchen, and if I remember correctly, the last thing I did hear was that it didn't work/caused problems after we got updated to ICS. So maybe it just won't work at all for us anymore? Can't you just try manually swapping the images in systemUI like you did in framework-res?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Yes I'll have to try that. I guys I didn't think about it, because I did switch the images for the pattern lock screen in the framework apk, and that actually worked.
But yeah I'll give that a try..

I'm on stock 4.0.4, rooted... UOT Kitchen isn't working for me, as my phone uses SystemUI.apk instead of the framework for my statusbar icons. So what I did was I went through the steps at the Kitchen to get my UOT zip, unzipped and pulled the images and xml files. I then added the 200+ battery icons to my drawable-hdpi folder from systemui (using 7zip), and then added the xml files to the drawable folder.
I did this once before, and after clearing the dalvik, battery stats and cache, it worked...but this time my battery icon has disappeared altogether.
I put the images and xml files in the framework as well just to be sure...but no go. I've tried a couple different attempts from UOT but nothing. I even tried rom toolbox, but apparently it doesn't replace the xml files.
I read something about the kernel maybe affecting this...Is that true?
Is there a Kernel that is stable that I can use on stock ICS?
I have searched and searched, but cannot find a good answer to this, so please don't go off about the search button. The kernels all seem to be older, and the last one I tried to flash that was supposed to work left me with a reflash.
Oh, and the stock rom I'm on has been deodexed and zip aligned..
Thanks in advance!
PS.. I have been researching kernels, but they list things that I am unfamiliar with, or don't know if I want...etc...but I want this to work, and I would love for custom boot animations to work through rom toolbox and such. Also I know I could decompile the xml's to fix the battery, but I'm having trouble with Java on my laptop at the moment. If anyone is on stock with 1% battery icons, if you could extract and post the xml's that would be great...!
UOT kitchen supports GB/ICS ROMs, including TouchWiz ones. You just need to upload SystemUI.apk, framework.res and twframework.res - and you'll get a flashable ZIP.
I was under impression it's very clearly stated there.
It is, but I always get the stf....something..error when I include my systemui.APK...
In any case the xml files the kitchen gives me should still work..because the folder hierarchy is the same as the framework-res.APK...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Every APK has the same folder structure. It doesn't mean that the files from one will work on another.
You might have taken one XML too many. Battery icons don't hurt anything, wrong XMLs can.
Also you need to be deodexed for it to have any effect, so I'm assuming you're running deodexed stock root?
Battery icons, I think, are in the twframework_res.apk, not in Systemui.apk
Also, on a tw rom a lot of the default images have a tw_ prefix.

I have searched and searched for hours and cannot find a legitimate 1% battery mod that works for Skyrocket and this Rom...Yet there does seem to be a plethora out there for other phones..
Does anyone have a clear-cut solution for this, aside from manually compiling/decompiling? Anyone? Is there a mod that would work for this phone?
CM10 includes a circle mod 1% battery mod already.
System (or Rom Control, whatever it's called) > Status Bar > Battery Icon

What's wrong with just the percentage battery? Are you strictly looking for a circle? He probably just hasn't updated his base build since the circle mod was a fairly recent addition to CM10. You could always just flash CM10. But in all reality there are a ton of battery mods out there, all of which are 1%. I duno why you can't find any.
