I'm on stock 4.0.4, rooted... UOT Kitchen isn't working for me, as my phone uses SystemUI.apk instead of the framework for my statusbar icons. So what I did was I went through the steps at the Kitchen to get my UOT zip, unzipped and pulled the images and xml files. I then added the 200+ battery icons to my drawable-hdpi folder from systemui (using 7zip), and then added the xml files to the drawable folder.
I did this once before, and after clearing the dalvik, battery stats and cache, it worked...but this time my battery icon has disappeared altogether.
I put the images and xml files in the framework as well just to be sure...but no go. I've tried a couple different attempts from UOT but nothing. I even tried rom toolbox, but apparently it doesn't replace the xml files.
I read something about the kernel maybe affecting this...Is that true?
Is there a Kernel that is stable that I can use on stock ICS?
I have searched and searched, but cannot find a good answer to this, so please don't go off about the search button. The kernels all seem to be older, and the last one I tried to flash that was supposed to work left me with a reflash.
Oh, and the stock rom I'm on has been deodexed and zip aligned..
Thanks in advance!
PS.. I have been researching kernels, but they list things that I am unfamiliar with, or don't know if I want...etc...but I want this to work, and I would love for custom boot animations to work through rom toolbox and such. Also I know I could decompile the xml's to fix the battery, but I'm having trouble with Java on my laptop at the moment. If anyone is on stock with 1% battery icons, if you could extract and post the xml's that would be great...!
UOT kitchen supports GB/ICS ROMs, including TouchWiz ones. You just need to upload SystemUI.apk, framework.res and twframework.res - and you'll get a flashable ZIP.
I was under impression it's very clearly stated there.
It is, but I always get the stf....something..error when I include my systemui.APK...
In any case the xml files the kitchen gives me should still work..because the folder hierarchy is the same as the framework-res.APK...

Every APK has the same folder structure. It doesn't mean that the files from one will work on another.
You might have taken one XML too many. Battery icons don't hurt anything, wrong XMLs can.
Also you need to be deodexed for it to have any effect, so I'm assuming you're running deodexed stock root?
Battery icons, I think, are in the twframework_res.apk, not in Systemui.apk
Also, on a tw rom a lot of the default images have a tw_ prefix.

So then why did you switch the XML? If the images have the exact same names as the old ones, you shouldn't need to touch the XML.

Because it didn't show the 1% increments...only the several that are default.
I went and reflashed a uot zip I had previously, and it seems to have corrected the xml...works again. Not sure why flashing it worked but not manually replacing the xml..

Ok so I decided to get off the stock rom and this morning flashed to Vincom's Superlite CM10 JB rom..
And I'll be darned if I'm back to square one with this..
I have searched and searched for hours and cannot find a legitimate 1% battery mod that works for Skyrocket and this Rom...Yet there does seem to be a plethora out there for other phones..
Does anyone have a clear-cut solution for this, aside from manually compiling/decompiling? Anyone? Is there a mod that would work for this phone?
CM10 includes a circle mod 1% battery mod already.
System (or Rom Control, whatever it's called) > Status Bar > Battery Icon
Choose CircleMOD.

Yeah that's what I was hoping for, but apparently in vincoms version it doesn't have that option.. only regular, percentage number, or nothing at all..
Other than that it's a sick Rom for the record..

What's wrong with just the percentage battery? Are you strictly looking for a circle? He probably just hasn't updated his base build since the circle mod was a fairly recent addition to CM10. You could always just flash CM10. But in all reality there are a ton of battery mods out there, all of which are 1%. I duno why you can't find any.

It's not really about which icons.. it's about the capability to have them..
The are a ton of mods, that's for sure... but none for this phone that still work.. because the ics folders apparently changed..
Not to say they would not work with jb, but I can't find a clear answer to that..
I think I'm going to try using the same xml files and cross my fingers.

Hi everyone. I've been reading around xda for quite a while and would first like to say thanks to all the great devs and others on here who have really helped to make the infuse an even better phone. Ok so this is my first post so I hope I have the right section. My question: is it possible to pull the sgs2 wallpaper pack from gtg's Infused rom? I've searched everywhere and can't find a wallpaper pack like it. I'm trying to complete my sgs2 look on my infuse with CM7 and wizmod2 theme. Thanks for any help!

Try searching for the wallpapers in the rom zip. Normal locations are the framework apk if its just one. Or a separate folder in the ROM if they are multiple.

Yes, but only selective apps. You may, but should be careful with the android build version. Some apps are compiled from sources, and those might not be compatible when taken from one ROM to another. But others, like add on apps, can be taken.

I think the tree structure within framework.jar is a bit different but it may still work, I still haven't tested it, I got distracted. you can use apk tool or smali to decompile it, baksmali or apk tool to compiled it.
I don't mess with apk manager because it tries to do to much for you and isn't really useful because the apps don't usually work when you are done, you wind up having to pull files from the Finnished apk and dropping them in a copy of the original because the signing doesn't work with system apps.
Hey guys. For those that dont know, my Real Icon theme has been found to be compatible with all ICS Touch Wiz roms so far since it uses the villian themer as opposed to full apks. I have confirmed it works well on Scott's clean rom. I havent made a separate folder yet on my ftp site but the one for synergy rom and beans rom are identical, just grab one and install it. Here is a basic link into my site...

I thought about it but past experience has shown me that I get a lot less traffic on generic posts rather than ones that say specifically for a rom they are running. Not sure if people just think "hey, probably doesnt apply here" or what but when they see "this is for clean rom" etc they tend to download it more. I also struggle with putting the date on the post. I like to do it so people know there is a new release but as the thread ages, i get much less traffic because people just think it isnt applicable any more. Am I babbling?
This does not work well on CleanROM if you have installed Kinda Crap mods or other mods that affect the icons in the notification bar.

Most modders will tell you dont mix and match. With that said you could equally say the mods dont work well with my theme. As long as you dont suggest i am breaking stuff then we are good.

No, I'm not saying that. What I meant (and meant to say) was that this doesn't work if you've flashed other mods before it. Speaking of which, if I wanted to run this mod but had already flashed another one, how do I get rid of the other one?

Ok so I found that as long as I flash this mod first, I can flash Kinda Crap mods over it and I can keep the Real Icons icons for Messaging and Calendar and all the in-app icons as well, only the Notification Bar icons are replaced by Kinda Crap, which is fine with me. However, I lose call recording that's enabled by Dirty Tweaks. If I try to flash Dirty Tweaks over top of Real Icons like I did with Kinda Crap, the phone won't boot and I have to restore from backup or re-flash the ROM which wipes out all the mods anyway. Is there any build of Real Icons that won't affect the phone app so that I can keep call recording? Thanks!

The changes made should work. So basically if you compared the changes of this to their stock rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1825272 and then applied the same changes to our stock rom, it would work. BUT their files as is will not work.
Basically, it would probably take about 15 minutes for someone to do if they knew what they were doing. I however don't have 15 minutes to spend on this so I can't help right now lol.

so what I would do is download their stock deodex and extract the files that are included in the mod.
Then, decompile the .jars and apks that were modded and the stock version
Run winmerge on them to see exactly what they changed
Then make those exact changes to our stock deodex rom. So you will need to decompile 3 sets of files and recompile 1 set.

I got apktool installed and decompiled framework.jar where it creates a folder called smali. The problem is, I can't view any of the contents from within it. If I go to properties it states contents "nothing" yet shows free space as being 66.7 GB. So I know that there's something in there, I'm just not allowed to view the contents. I read somewhere that you need a text editor?
I did all this on a Linux machine (Mint 13.) I'm gonna try it on a windows PC next just to see what happens.
Edit: I found out that by changing .jar to .apk and then decompiling it allowed me to view the contents. Now I'm sitting at trying to open the TextView.smali. lol
Edit 2: for some reason it's not working for the JellyWiz rom. It's still not showing the contents from within the samli folder.

I used root explorer to push the APK back, mounting the proper folder...
but even after wiping the cache and dalvik, the images refuse to change.
I have since extracted the APK, to verify that the images were there and everything looked right and it does. So where is ics pulling the images from that its using??

It's been a while since I've heard anyone talk about the kitchen, and if I remember correctly, the last thing I did hear was that it didn't work/caused problems after we got updated to ICS. So maybe it just won't work at all for us anymore? Can't you just try manually swapping the images in systemUI like you did in framework-res?

Hello I ported my rom for the Skyrocket comunity, since our phones share a lot of things, why not this rom
this would be very quik since im sleepy and i finished that at the same time i ended this post so 2 morrow ill add more detaild to this OP.
What works.
everything
bugs
Camera takes a lil bit to load
Key LIght Buttons dont light up, they just work fine just no light.
-------------------------------------READ THIS PLEASE------------------------------------------------------
DONT FLASH ANY OTHER KERNEL OR YOU WILL HAVE SERIOUS PROBLEMS. Miui have a new xbin file called shelld or something like that and that file needs a line in init.rc, so i modded the kernel pre instaled on the rom to have that tweak to aviod problems, so ALL OF YOU ARE WARNED.
CM10 camera and gallery are there, i added this cuz i dont like the legacyCamera, it S**ks and dont have Options, so CM10 camera is there.
You need to flash gapps for jellybean
Download here : http://d-h.st/gT9
flash the rom, flash gapps let it boot and sit for 5 mins and then flash The Control Panel
Download Control Panel app here http://d-h.st/VNY
Its says hercules, but it works on skyrocket so there will be no problems.
any bug? problems or need help, just PM me or post it here in this thread, that way if other have the same problem they can read and fix their issues too.
Enjoy and My best wishes to all,
regards

First to flash, will report back if successful. @evocalante Please stop posting 1st or first. Congratulations, you posted nothing of value to a ROM development thread.
-Edit, flashed ROM successfully and flashed gapps-jb-20121011-signed. Rom boots to lockscreen without any problems. Yup soft keys don't light up but work as expected. Curious to see what the battery life is.
Error adding files to ROM zip file.
I get this error when trying to add files into the zip file. I take out settings.apk and change an image then add settings.apk back. Got these errors. I removed the duplicate files and was able to add settings.apk back.
Flashing now.

Don't use 7Zip. WinRar doesn't get term info errors.

Off topic but thanks for this. I was wondering what was up with this as I always get errors with 7zip taking stuff out or adding.

sorry for misguide LED doesnt light up after reboot or might after flashing gapps i dont know ..... ?
from what i've seen the key light buttons light up when the brightness settings have been changed but turn of when screen is locked and only turn on again when brightness settings are changed. I'm pretty sure the old cm9 builds had this problem too.

Thanks, first time I ever seen advice to Not use 7zip! The files I deleted were in fact duplicates, maybe that's because 7zip made them? No idea.
Overnight and no sleep death, which is great.
Yes the soft keys do light up when screen brightness is changed but they remain on.

I don't know why 7zip has the term info error and other file managers don't. Just use WinRar like I said.

Soft keys are working on my phone perfectly. They light up when I wake the device and go off when I hit the the power button. I have also replicated the changing brightness and my keys still work fine.....
Am I missing something?

How does this preform? Is this good for a daily rom (i love MIUI but there hasn't been a decent stable one for the skyrocket? Is it using MIUIandroid official or MIUI.us?

its MIuiandroid rom, ported using the un official MIUIandroid rom for the ATT samsung galaxy s3 rom made by Ibotpeaches from miuiandroid.com
iv done all the work of porting it and getting it as much stable i can for Hercules and Skyrocket.
also im using cm10 26 nigthly so any bug of cm10 will be here if any lol
This is the problem with the miui theme manager, not necessary to the ROM itself. Looks like they have not iron out the theme manager for user in the US, so I cannot use any of their theme. Can you port an old version of the theme manager?
Thanks
