Hi,
Last Saturday I sideloaded the OTA file and successfully updated to Lollipop.
Directly after updating, the "me" contact was still populated with my info and also the picture from my G+ was present just like on Kitkat.
Yesterday I decided to give it a factory reset, since it is a major update and it is kind of an old habit to do so.
Since performing the factory reset this info is not populating. I've tried:
Clear data on contact storage, forcing a fresh sync.
Signing out of Google+ and back in
Removed my Google account and adding it back to the phone again.
Anybody with a suggestion how to fix this? Anything other then filling everything in manually since it should populate itself

It refuses to join with my contact record I have with all my information. I gave up and decided to let it be.

Thanks for that mate, now it populated with my Google+ mug shot again
Downside of this method it also pumps all my G+ circles into contacts and that's something I don't like.
This "keep contacts up to date" setting has always been turned off on my phone(s) because of this.
After turning it off again, the my profile page went blank again. But the mug shot for owner info remained. So where one step further :good:

Hi,
I did an update and the G1 asked me something about contacts and by mistake I clicked on delete. So my online contacts at gmail GONE but the contacts on my G1 is still exist.
How can I sync it to the live?
wow !
You should go to settings, then to data synchronization and then click on the gmail option and sync it there. Then check online to see if it updated. If not try doing the sync again from your phone while logged out of gmail on your cpu. Idk if resetting the phone would be a good idea because the contacts arent stored in the phone, and if you say its empty online, then the phone would have nothing to pull to it. Hope this helps : )
problem in sync contact
I got into data sync and I saw it says under the contacts "sync is currently experiencing problems. it will be bacl shortly"
ha?!
Ok
This happened to me b4.... heres what you do
go to the market and download an app that backs up your contacts.
back up your contacts.
Then boot into recovery mode.
Alt-w to wipe the cache etc.. ( fyi your apps, texts, settings will be cleared)
assuming you still have the update.zip on your sdcard, hit alt+s to start the update all over again.
Before you do the update, reboot the phone and see if the wipe fixed the problem. if it didnt, then reapply the update. And be careful when your prompted for syncing options.
Ill watch the thread for any further questions
SOLVED!
This is what I did:
I entered "manage applications" and deleted all my contacts. Then I did sync and it worked.
Then I used my backup from vcard IO application and did sync again and it worked.
From what I read the problem cause by mybackup pro. That's it.
Thanks
: ) ! Ok cool, glad you didnt have to go through all the stuff i posted above. I think those contact backup programs cause alot of trouble. I thought the whole purpose of google sync was to have a backup of you contact info anyway? lol glad you fixed it anyway
When I turned on Auto Sync. I get the message, "Sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shortly". I can't sync my contacts at all. I also tried Contacts Sync Fix(app), and thay didn't seem to help.
Please any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Same problem here, may be their servers currently unavailable.

I'm not so sure about that. Can you check the date the sync was last successful? My sync date on my Galaxy S3 was a few months old (in Feb I think). I think (at least I) am running into the problem described in http://code.google.com/p/android/is...s Owner Summary Stars&groupby=&sort=&id=42641. I tried a few suggestions there like clearing out my contacts data etc. And then I deleted my account and recreated it and the problem is worse now. I don't get a last successful sync date at all anymore. No errors. But no syncing either. I can create new dummy records and it will eventually (a few minutes later sync). And changes I make on the phone will also eventually reflect in the cloud. Meanwhile no problems syncing on my Nexus 10. But if I change a real record (possibly a Google+ account), it never syncs up.

Well I removed my google account yesterday and re added it and now everything syncs up fine. My last sync time was about 5 minutes ago. It syncs constantly throughout the day since I use G+.
I have the same problem. If I clear the contacts data, it'll sync but only once. If I add something on my phone or on the website, the sync won't work again until I re-delete the contacts data again.
I have this for about 3 weeks now. I even reinstalled the ROM, but not helped.
Acer E350 with Android 4.0.3 (with 5 different updates, even with the first version). Everything worked correctly until May 15.
I solve this problem, I think...
Google Account Dashboard -> Account -> Security, I deleted all (mobile) apps*connections to my account, then deleted my Google Apps account on Android and reinstalled it. Now I can access everything again!

I've been having this issue for the past week and can't seem to fix. I've gone to Settings and deleted cache and data, Google contacts will resync and bring the contacts back, but then a short time later, they are gone. I've done this about a hundred times already. I've also gone and deleted duplicate contacts, installed an app to fix broken contacts, all to no avail. I don't know what else to do at this point, very frustrating. I'm having this issue on different roms that I flash.

I am experiencing the same issue once again. I don't know if this is Rom related or anything, but it's driving me nuts!!

I'm a little late to the game here, having recently acquired a One, but this fix worked perfectly for me. So far it's been a few hours and the sync still refreshes without issue. Kudos.
Which settings?

I can't find this settings. Does anyone know where this settings is at? This sync error is heavily draining my battery.
Hi guys,
For some reason my photos on my HTC One 4.4.2 has stopped syncing to the usual Google+ Auto Backups that were working fine before this to Google+ photos. When I go onto the 'Photos' app, it's say it's 'Backing up, 201 to go... ' but it never finishes.
I have checked all options and everything is set to sync. In my Android setting, everything is checked to sync. I've no idea why my new photos will not back up to my Google photos account any more. Any help appreciated!
Thanks,
Darren.

Having the same probleme. It used to work fine but now it doesn't backup new photos..
Galaxy S4
It started working again for me. Go onto G+ settings, and backup settings and toggle the backup on/off. It seemed to fix it now.

I have tried toggling off and back on and still it won't fix the problem. Haven't backed up since 4.4.3 update came I think, and every time I take a photo, I get a "google+ has stopped" message
GS4 GPE
I'm having the same problem. Toggling off/on did nothing.
Mine seems to be up to date and backing up now. Here's what I did:
Settings >Apps >All >Google+ >Clear data
Admittedly, I'm not a tech pro...but this seems to have just wiped the data on the phone client and restart/sync.

Clearing app data and cache will solve most problems.

Google may have recently addressed this issue:
Open the photos app
Hit menu icon (Top Left)
Select "Settings"
Select "About Google Photos" (Bottom of List)
Select the options menu (Top Right)
Select "Help and feedback"
The first thread there fully answered my questions regarding my photos not syncing. It was entitled "My photos aren't backing up" and was under the "popular" heading. There are a few reasons this might happen and this article seemed to address them all. Following it I was able to get my Droid Turbo (lollipop) to sync photos within minutes. Follow the steps exactly. Hope this is helpful.
So, I searched a lot but couldn't find a solution that works. I was on 11S 05Q and I downloaded 12S OTA file from the official CM link. I'm rooted and had Xposed. But after installing the OTA via TWRP(2.8.6.0), I get the message "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped" continuously. I have uninstalled xposed, cleared data for contacts and contacts storage multiple times but the error still keeps popping up. Also, if it helps, the preview crash report mentions "[CRASH]com.android.providers.contacts threw android.os.TransactionTooLarge Exception". So I believe it has something to do with the contacts data getting corrupted somehow. Is there anyway to resolve this issue? If I factory reset my phone through TWRP, will i lose all my media and will I have to reinstall all my apps again? I have the nandroid backup of 11S 05Q made through TWRP. If I decide to go back to 05Q by going through the restore option in TWRP, can it brick my phone because I read somewhere that 12S had new radio files. A detailed guide or link would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
I'm in the same boat, unfortunately. In my case, the trigger seems to be Facebook app. Did a lot of research, tried to fence FB off Contacts (and even Calendar) by changing Privacy Guard settings, to no avail. I was only able to get to the state when FB was still installed and not triggering the error permanently (in my case every 2-3 seconds really, making phone unusable), however the moment I tried to access Contacts or Phone apps, the error was back (means couldn't call anyone, which sort of defeats the purpose of having a cell phone). The ultimate solution (and the only, to my best knowledge) is to get an Android 5.1 - based ROM...

I have the same problem! I had it after updating yesterday. I did a factory reset and thought that fixed it but after opening trivia crack it came back. It's like everytime an account is added whether it's Facebook, a game, etc. It pops up with this error. I can fix it by booting into safe mode and wiping calendar and contacts storage in settings-apps. But once new account is installed it comes back. Could I wipe my entire device back to stock using 44s file via adb and then update to lollipop with zip? Maybe that will fix it.

Boot into safe mode (power down phone and then hold both volume keys while starting until lockscreen appears). Then goto settings and apps. Find calendar storage and contacts storage. Wipe those and restore your contacts with a vcf file. Then reboot, this will fix it temporarily. As long as you don't add an account! I tried factory reset and thought that worked but it didn't. Might have to restore to stock 44s via adb. When will cyanogen have the full lollipop file available to install? All I see online is Ota zip, not full os.
I figured it out. Uninstall Facebook. Don't use Facebook app, use it though a web browser.
This is an Android 5 bug, as per Google it is fixed in 5.1 The bug is because of memory exception in contact storage. Potentially, it can come back from ANY application synchronizing contacts. In my case it was Nine Exchange Mail application. Cleaning contact storage, full phone reset - nothing helped, at the moment I tried to add my corporate email added through Nine - the problem came back. I removed Nine app, and added corp email through CM email app (Boxer). The app is Ok, but not giving as much features as Nine (Out of Office settings etc). For now it works, I just wonder when we will get the CM12.1 with this fix. This is really sad, but can't blame CM for this.
Here is the link for this problem description on AOSP issue tracker forum: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=95749
thanks...uninstalling updates to G+ app seems to help ...the popups have stopped <fingers crossed>
hopefully 5.1 has fixed this
To help gain more developer attention, please vote for the bug in Cyanogen's issue tracker: https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/BACON-2820
Please also consider voting in Google's issue tracker (via Star at upper-left): https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=95749
The Cyanogen defect report presently has just a single vote, reducing the likelihood it will be fixed anytime soon in 12.0. I'm hoping Cyanogen can back-port the necessary changes from 12.1 (Android 5.1.x) where this issue is already corrected.
I've got a FRD-L04 model. Everything went fine and smooth with EMUI 4.1. Received the notice to update to 5.0, Nougat. I was really looking forward to it long ago. I did so, and everything went fine. Today I just tried to store a contact, and I realized that the number is stored, but not the name. My contacts are synced with my Google account, and I've synced it so many times, restarted the phone, deleted contacts (just a couple), and nothing seems to improve it. I'll see the way to attach a video here, so you can all have a better idea.
Hi,
Check if the issue is still there after a full factory reset. It is recommended that you perform a reset of the device after an update. We suggest backing up your data using HiSuite, or any other method you like, prior to performing the reset.
Cheers
