[Q] Does my new note pro discharge normaly? - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings:
I am just wondering if my new note pro battery discharges normally.
The tablet is left at 91% at 10:00 pm yesterday. Nothing is running in the background, Power saver is on, screen brightness about 25%, only wifi is on, multi windows is off, all sounds setting off, haptic feedback off, push notification is off, it is down to 76% this morning at 6:00 am. Without using it for 8 hours, it loses 15% charge. The battery usage shows that the screen uses 47%, android system 14%, and android OS 11%. I ask the amazon online community and some users report that their tablet loses only 9% charge without using it for two weeks. Is my unit defective?
Thanks in advance for your time and help.

You've got an app causing a wakelock. Reboot. Put it in Airplane mode tonight to see if results are better. I lose maybe 1 or 2% overnight when I use airplane mode.

Mine drains at 0,2%/h according to BBS. So no, yours is probably not discharging normally.
If you're rooted try Wakelock detector. If you're not, try BetterBatteryStats. Both can be found here on XDA

Thank you all for your help.
After turning off many running app which i didn't launch, set auto brightness to on, the tablet seems to hold the charge now.

Instant battery drop ?

After being on the charger after 7 hours as soon as I take out of the charge my battery his down to 98%. I made one phone call of 2 min and 3 txt messages and it dropped another 1 percent. Before this charge I let it fully drain. Anyone?

I experience the same results - When the phone is powered off and on the charger, it only goes to 98% (according to the settings-->about phone-->Status-->battery level
However, if you turn the phone on, and charge, it will reach 100%..
this is insane... my bat is down to 93% and since the first post to now i haven't even USED the phone... i think my phone is not going into full sleep whatsoever. I uninstalled 3g watchdog yesterday as some people mentioned in other forums that sometimes it wouldn't let the phone go into sleep mode. No kidding... that i only noticed this dramatic change in battery time after i installed LauncherPro. when i was using touchwiz on my second charge the phone lasted a full day with moderate use and i didn't even drain the whole battery. Yesterday was the first day i left the battery to die, i had this phone since last friday.
I was experiencing excessive battery use when I was running LauncherPro. I switched to ADW.Launcher and it went away. I also use JuiceDefender to manage connections while the screen is off. It disables data connections and turns them on for 1 minute every 15 minutes to update any data streams & then turns the data connection back off. I can get around 14 hours of light to moderate use now.
to check if your phone is properly sleeping
Plug into charger
Unplug and hit power to turn screen off
wait 5 minutes
hit power to turn screen back on
using spare parts or any other application which shows battery history(battery leftwidget)
check: Running%
It should be less than 10% for someone with a ton of background apps or widgets
It should be less than 5% for someone without a ton of widgets/bg apps
During normal usage it should be within 10% of the screen on %
Exception to this is if using something like music player
100% !!!!! I installed awd bedore doing this test and had no widgets running whatsoever

[Q] Battery Life & Wifi Disconnect

I just noticed in the past few minutes that my gmail is pushing to my tablet despite the screen being off and my wifi policy set to off when sleeping. I've also found some issues when it would actually cut the wifi off when sleeping, and when it comes back it doesn't want to reconnect to my router.
My other issue is battery life related. Last night I *believe* I turned airplane mode on before going to sleep and when I woke up 9 hours or so later, the battery was at least 10% down, I think more than that but I didn't take note of it at night. Even if wifi was on, it should've been shut as my sleep policy is that way. Looking through other threads people seem to be experiencing 1% or so battery drain in an hour. The other factor is that I have setcpu installed and a screen off profile that maxes at the second lowest frequency. This morning I installed netarchy's kernel and lowered my setcpu profile so it stays at the minimum frequency when the screen is off.
I'm running Prime 1.3 (didn't do the r2) and have manually removed a handful of the Asus apps that I don't use/want, and I have GPS disabled.
What 'concerns' me is that I have a droid incredible for a while now and with it, I get no battery drain overnight with airplane mode on (at least none that registers) and that's a battery with a fraction the capacity of the transformer. Moreover, I have a very few apps on my tablet whereas my phone has quite a few and basically beyond the stock stuff on the tablet the same apps are on my phone. Also, the battery stats window on the transformer doesn't show any info about apps. I've had my phone on since I woke up, on 3g and I'm at 90% with not much use. And I thought that my phone got meh battery life.
ive had some issues with wifi disconnecting and wouldn't stop disconnecting till a reboot. cant find any news on it. ive tried all firmwares now and still have the issue.
I been having the same issue. Last night I reflashed the 8.2.3.13-20110511 build, to see it it will help. Mine is stock not rooted.
I have the dock and use the pad with most of the time, both are loosing battery life even after I do a complete shutdown. To me it seems it has gotten worse after the 8.2.3.13-20110511 build update. The WiFi is loosing connection when the dock goes dead so I have to reboot the pad to get it to reconnect.
I also have contacted Asus tech. On another thought I really wish in Android you could disable startup apps without rooting.

Was hoping for more replies but my naturally long-winded posts probably scared everyone off...
I wiped my device and installed Modaco's ROM. I didn't touch the stock apps and only things I've installed are Titanium & Tasker. I put together a Tasker profile to kick airplane mode on when the system is put to sleep, and turn it off when unlocked (unless airplane mode was enabled when put to sleep). I also installed Setcpu and setup a profile to keep the CPU frequency to the minimum when screen is off.
I charged to 100% and let it sit overnight. When I woke up I was at 98%, when I got home a little while ago it was at 96%. Note that I hadn't used the tablet other than for a brief minute or two to check the battery stats. As of now I'm showing 15hrs 51mins on battery with a 4% drop. I've had it in airplane mode the whole time. Oppositely, I had my droid incredible at 100% and played Drop7 (great game btw) for at least 20 minutes before going to bed last night, and it was still 100% when I woke up (it was in airplane mode overnight). I find it weird that my droid incredible, with a 1/4 of the battery capacity doesn't drop at all overnight even with a game being played, and the transformer drops 2% in that time idling.
Has anyone wiped battery stats via CWM?
When I setup AutoStart, I noticed the power state event for screen on/off is off by default. I tried turning back on, seems to improve battery on sleep.

[Q] phone shuts off randomly at night and drains power

running the sgh-i727r.
had the phone since boxing day and this was the first time it happened. went to sleep with about 70%, slept for 6 hours and then woke up to a turned off phone. turned it back on and battery showed a huge drop from when it turned itself off, shortly before i woke up.
the only battery saving app i have is juice defender, on balanced profile.
any ideas?
thanks in advance.
Download betterbatterystats from the market and find out what is using your battery...
Are you rooted? if so.. reboot into recovery and erase battery stats and calibrate your battery..
More then likely have an app running..

Question Power off/Battery drops

I charge my phone to 90% or 80% each night, power off, and go to sleep. The next morning when I power on the battery has dropped 2%. I would appear the phone is doing something when the power is allegedly turned off.
What's happening? Is there actually a way to turn if OFF?
just put it to airplane mode and compare it.
Okay. First I'll do A/M with power on. Battery drops just like at night. I'll do A/M with power off tonight.
and why u not charging overnight
Uh, I don't won't to. It isn't required. I charge it to either 80% or 90%, power off, and go to bed. Why would I want to charge it all night? Last night I put it in airplane mode, charged it to 90%, power off, and went to bed. I turned it on this morning and it was at 88%. I'm just curious what it's doing overnight when it's in airplane mode and supposedly powered off. I don't know that it matters but I've had the phone since August 16th and I got it new.
than get use to it
I'm just curious. I contacted Sony Support today but since my issue isn't really a problem they didn't have much to offer. They were very courteous, though.
2% is "NOTHING" for an overnight drain. Please note that power off/on also consumes considerable power as it puts a load on the processor as it has to unload/load all the processes during that. My Sony phone loses 5% on an average per night and that is completely acceptable as it constantly works in the background (some apps keep refreshing every now and then, I also have poor network reception so that's also a consideration). I'd say: don't sweat too much and your phone's just fine!
On a side note, I also have a Samsung S22 Ultra that has an average 13-15% drain overnight.

Thanks. I wasn't worried as much as curious. Since I don't do games, music videos, or Facebook my battery isn't a worry. Just a curiosity. If I lost 15% in a night with power off I'd wonder if my phone was moonlighting as an Uber driver.

Question Phone is off, but battery is still draining

Is anyone experiencing a battery drain even though your S22 Ultra is switched off? I'm experiencing 4% drain every hour. 32% when every night when I sleep with my phone turned off.
I turn on power saving and extra dim using the bixby routine for the period that I'm in bed sleeping. It loses 1-2% ph
If you don't mind, can you try turning off your phone for the night and see how much battery percentage it loses? Mine went from 32% to flat 0% by morning. I had not realised this until recently. I tested in the morning by turning off my phone for an hour, it went from 60 to 54%. That's like 6% in an hour. But if I keep it on standby , it'll be 1% down in an hour. It's the turning off that is causing problems.
I know some laptops will drain battery power after shut down, but phone?
Exy or Snap?
Try checking in details with a battery monitoring app (e.g. GSam) to see what is/ are the culprit(s).
Also take a look at here for some useful tips.
It's strange that a lot of battery drain when phone is completly off.
In my opinion it's short circuit or battery is fault.
If phone is normal on are you see too battery drain?
When phone is switched off battery shouldn' experience any drain, or at least any noticeable drain in a short period.
Remember, when you bought your phone it came with battery half charged, and that was probably months after it was assembled and sealed in its package..
You should take your phone to a service or replace it, if possible
maybe somewhere on the PCB there is a short circuit. I ran into the same problem when using Xiaomi Mix 3 11 months ago.
