Your Help is needed :( [Rooted noob wants Lollypop] - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I made some mistakes with my phone! I rooted it a few weeks ago with towelroot to use greenify, I also unlocked the Bootloader. I also installed Rom Manager (v5.5.3.7) with the CWM Recovery (6.0.4.5)!
I went to the OTA helpdesk and I thought I am able to flash the OTA like a normal rom. But everytime I try to flash it I get an error saying Installaton Aborded.
Can someone help me please i am quite lost here
Thank you in advance

Hello Eddy,
I already read rootSU´s post! But i cant seem to figure out what i have to do... i am very sorry if I offended someone

the ota updater script checks your system partition. if theres anything modified, missing or not like the native Android 4.4.4 Version, it will abort.
you should be able to download the complete lollipop flashing file from Google Server and flash this with any tool kit. i usually use wug's. but its in you to choose what ever you like.

how to remove twrp

hello guys, i am practically new on this forum. I have HTC M8 with twrp and please let me know how to remove it and put it original stock rom. thank you on any suggestion please help me
I know this might seem like a silly question, but are you only trying to restore the stock recovery, or do you have a custom rom you want to restore to stock as well? I'm also going to need to know what carrier you have (Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.)

[Completed] Is there an easy way to have Gapps on my phone installed?

I have a Nokia XL RM-1030 v1.2.3.1. Im currently using the stock OS of this phone but rooted it with Nokia X Manager. I have a problem installing Gapps on this phone because everytime I try installing it by RootExplorerApp+Reboot or by downloading NokiaXGapps Zip and installing it via NokiaXManager it wont install. First I downloaded a NokiaXGapps zip then used the RootExplorerApp+Reboot method and in the guide that i followed it clearly said that after i reboot it PlayStore along with other Gapps will be installed but after i reboot my phone it didnt showed up in menu. Thinking for another way ,I tried using NokiaXManager to install it so i downloaded the required zip and when im going to flash it it FAILED . It said something like this "Skipping md5..md5 file not found. Error flashing this zip" .Sorry i cant clearly remember what it said but Im quite sure that it said something like that. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
(P.S. I really feel the need to move my CoC account in this phone! And also sorry for my bad english )

[Completed] [Q] Can I update android version after rooting, if so how ?

Today when I decided to update to the latest android (5.1.1) with rooted nexus 5. I rebooted
my phone and it started installing when suddenly a picture of the android robot with a red triangle sign on top appears and under it it says error so I restarted my phone by holding down the power button for several seconds and when I get in to my phone it says that I'm updated to 5.1. But what I understand that's correct so now I'm wondering how to deal with future updates because I can't afford to brick my phone and I thought I could just download OTA updates normally after root so my question is, can I normally install OTA updates, if not How?
[Edit]Later today I got the update to 5.1.1 message again and its really annoying and I want the update now so how do I get it?
Thanks for reading.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. No, you can't use the OTA if your rooted with 5.x and above. To update you'll most likely need to flash the stock frimware. but you never let us know what your device is so i can't point you in the right direction.

Thank you for answering, I have a nexus 5 but I guess I´ll have to flash the stock firmware if there is no other way that isn´t too complicated.
All right. You'll want to see these, http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/info-nexus-5-ota-help-desk-t2523217 , http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/info-nexus-5-ota-help-desk-t2523217 It's possible to update by only flashing the system, boot, and radio images files with fastboot. You'll lose root but you can easily regain it by flashing supersu in your custom recovery.
Also don't forget there's a complete forum for the Nexus 5 here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5

I just spent 2 hours trying to flash the system but all i ended up with was a factory reset after following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701 so all i want to do now is just getting rid of root so I can update but the guides that i understand doesn´t work because when I tried to flash the hammerhead bootloader it said the my device requires another version. The i took the version that my nexus is in right now 5.1.0 and it appeared to be working so when it was finished I followed the guide and i wiped my system for about 5 minutes and then i chose reboot system from the recovery mode menu. And now im back at where i started.
(Edit) Now I´m installing SDK and following another guide online http://www.talkandroid.com/guides/b...-lollipop-factory-image-on-your-nexus-device/
It turns out all i had to do was to unlock my phone and then I installed 5.1.1 just fine
Yep, that's the first step. Glad you got it working. I'll close this thread.

[Completed] Sony Xperia S - Lollipop Root

HI, i need your help please.. I installed about a month ago Lollipop on my Xperia S by some YouTube tutorial. There was a link for root package, but i forgot to install it before installing Lollipop, and now i cant get to CWM recovery, i tried (almost?) everything, so i cant install the rar, and one-click root sw/kingo root doesnt work for me ..
If i flash recovery again, will i lost my data/OS or something? I dont want to install etc. everything again so please, let me know how to deal with this. Also i turned off the "ambient thing", but its still pretty sensitive - it keeps unlocking itself when I put in on my bike or just when im trying to clean it which never happened to me before.

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Sorry to hear about your trouble but fortunately there is an XDA area dedicated to the Sony Xperia S at http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-s which would be a good starting place. I suggest you post your question with all relevant details in the friendly Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-s/help where the experts familiar with your device will be best able to guide you.
Good luck!

install Update on rooted device?

Hello!
I have a question about update my mediapad m5 on android pie.
I have tested:
- dload Version with update.app.
Dont work. Give me an error message.
- trying to extract update.app
Dont work. I think there are missing some files. System. Img is there, but boot and recovery.img is not there..
-huruupdater
Not for android pie. Give me an error code.
How can i install the new version on my mediapad with root, twrp and open bootloader? Thank you!
Just do not try it for now or you will break you tablet as this happend to a lot of users (no fastboot, no erecovery, nothing just black screen)
rarely, if ever, can you do a system update on a rooted device; you almost always have to unroot first, then update, then root again, assuming the rooting process still works on the updated system files..
I have done it with a no check recovery, and it worked. Thread can be closed
Do you mind giving a short explanation on HOW exactly you did it?
Yes, send me a pm. I find the instructions on a german android forum. You have to use google translator!
