I still can't find any good docks that work with the 2014 moto x. I've looked on Ebay and their is some, but they are in Europe and the shipping time is like 2 months. Has anyone found a good one?

2 months shipping, are they sending it by rowing boats?
It would seem
Still no docks what so ever man they sure don't make many accessories for this phone....
Proclip universal should work.
I found a universal one on eBay, but the issue is that the micro USB plug is long and the phone rests solely on the plug. It's not horrible because the dock has a back that the phone rests on, but I'm still worried about one of my kids knocking into it and something breaking. I do miss qi charging in this respect. The N4 orb was a nice little dock of sorts.

Yes, anything by proclip or brodit are top notch. I have personally bought the universal dock which is able to pivot for adjustable viewing angles, as well as adjusts the size of the dock for different phones. I've used a moto g , moto x, note 3, lumia 1520, and all fit perfectly ! Highly recommended!

Has anyone seen it on sale in the UK yet other than on ebay?
Looks nice. Especially when the additional battery is included.

Not to mention car holders - nice stuff! Unfortunately I cannot find any place to buy it from.. ???
I emailed them the other day about these, they said they'll be in the UK at the end of may at mobilefun.

Even better then! I really want one, think they look really nice.
I really like the car mounts they have for the Desire. I just wonder if they will activate the car dock mode (as in the upcoming original car mount)
Where can I find this on eBay? Searching for deluxe cradle yields no results...
it's not available for sale yet
I had one of these for my last handset (HTC S740). Different fitting but basically the same.
I used it on my nightstand to charge my phone overnight and can say the following.
It feels a bit cheap but does the job 100%. I was always able to leave the house in the morning with a fully charged phone AND a fully charged battery.
The connections are a bit odd and looking at the Desire version, nothing has changed.
The cradle has TWO USB MINI (yes Mini not Micro like the Desire has) connections. This is not a big deal as the phone plugs into the cradle and not the cradles mains charger.
One connection takes the power in and the other connects to your computer for sync. I am guessing host USB is not enough to charge the phone and a 2nd battery.
And finally, there are plenty of these on eBay for less money and looking at the delivery dates, they will get to you even from Hong Kong sooner.

Hi, have you found one of these available in the UK yet?
This is the one I want now, looks smart
(removed link because I've been a lurker and not a poster)
These are now shipping from Mobilefun, got a text this morning telling me mine had shipped. I placed the order on the 9th May.................
Has anyone received this yet? Can anyone confirm if this will hold the the phone with the flexishield?
I really like the look of this but can't imagine taking off the flexishied everytime put it on the cradle
Any one seen any nice car holders, I like the look of the brodit ones but I dont think they have updated their range yet.
Been using Brodit for a while now, love the custom mounts they do for almost every car on the road. Still waiting on the i9000 holder, but imagine it will be similar to their i5700 one, just getting a little impatient now, they are normally quicker than this at putting out new holders.
I received this from Brodit support yesterday:
Hi!
Thank for the interest in our products.
We have this under construction so please check our web for updates.
As soon as the holders are ready we have this ready it will be on our web.
But due to summer vacation we can’t say any clear date.
Best Regards

So I guess it will still take some time ...
there's someone on ebay with 3 different models, ranging from $10.74 to $13 (vent mount, and two different windshield mounts - one of which appears to be very similiar to the OEM one samsung australia dealers are displaying, ie it will mount to driver's door window as well)
but the ebay seller's prices include shipping from Hong Kong - they're specific to the i9000, so i figured at the price, i'd grab one till Tmo USA had theirs up
his do not include any charger but as ive already got a Tmo car charger, i'm good to go for now

The Galaxy S is light enough to stay put by itself on the Dash Genie. Though I found that the charging cable can pull on it and eventually un-stick it. I have to ensure the cable stays put and in the right position. It's not the bends that matter, more the potholes. And if you have to touch it it's fiddly. Neat idea, but would not buy it again.
i ordered ths one from ebay - it's specific to the i9000 - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190409500795&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
figured i'd use it till Tmo came out with the Samsung OEM unit here in the states - but after seeing the price for the Samsung unit on techbuy in australia (iirc either $79 or $89 AUD) i might just stay with this one
same seller on ebay has another for a couple bucks more that looks real similiar to the samsung one techbuy has pictured on their web - it looks like it will turn a full 180 degrees in the horizontal plane so you could mount it on the driver's door window -
and he has a 3rd unit that is meant for vent mounting
Try Arkon.
Look at this video:

Here is their website:

The company is based in the US.
I'm interested to here feedback on the dash genie http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dash-Genie-Ph...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item2eae0d02b1 does the phone securely stick to the holder (i.e the phone doesnt fall out when cornering hard)? - Does it work aswell in landscape as portrait? Is the red dot on the holder simply a magnet (does that affect signal or GPS?) ? - From the video on the auction it looks brilliant - I drive a 1 series similar to the one in the video too - so I know it will work on my dash

I actually received it today. First impresson: cheap but well designed. It comes with a little stick on mount so you can also stick the thing to your dash instead of the windscreen. The clamp is spring loaded so it can fit the phone even if it's in a case. I like it.

yeah - it'll do fine
definitely strong enough, grip wise on the unit - in fact a little too tight, so i dremel'd out the lower capture points to give it a little relief in the vertical axis (vertical when the holder is in "landscape" position
the mechanical action on the locking cam (that locks the suction cup) feels good, real solid
and the mechanical action on the capture nut that tightens on the ball socket is actually impressive - pretty infinitely adjustable, easy to find that sweet spot where the ball socket is stiff enough to hold the phone at the angle / position you want, while not letting the holder move or shift, plus with the wgt of the vibrant so light, it's not inclined to
I am looking for a case with built in keyboard but they must be hard plastic keys! Not the silly silicon ones.
I can't seem to find one that is compatible with the touchpad/iPad 1 for sub 40 pounds. If anyone finds one please tell me otherwise I will find myself forking out for a Zaggmate!
Thanks again
Check ebay for a used zaggmate. I got one for 40 USD in good condition..
I have emailed manufacturers like zagg, logitech, NewTrent, someone else emailed clamshell, nobody seems interested in making one for the TP especially since they aren't making anymore.
Only other option is one of those cheap-looking leather ones.. OR I was also considering just a nice case/stand around 20 dollars and the OEM keyboard been around 30 dollars.

Thanks for that mate! Yeh that's where I've been looking and I can only find one for 60gbp minimum! Whereas the one for the iPad 2 is going for 20gbp!! In multiple places too :-( so really wondering why the iPad 1 zagg mate is so expensive. I don't think it will fit a zaggmate2 will it?

couldn't be sure.. have to check the dimensions of the ipad 1 vs. ipad2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275443
This thread (above) says ipad 2 is not only thinner which we knew but the length and width are slightly different. Also the keyboard on the zaggmate for ipad2 uses a logitech keyboard which looks identical to zaggkeys solo so the TP may fit better in the stand but I can't say exactly for the case because of the difference in measurements. Someone may have to just get one to try it out and let the rest of us know but with the measurement differences I would say it won't fit in the case.

what? the Samsung wireless dock for home is $50 alone, so how can a wireless car charger that is more functional be cheaper?
it's ok to spend $800 on the phone but $80 is too much for an accessory?
there are a bunch of wireless charging car docks out there, here are 2 that are under $50. they arent samsung branded, but should function close to the same.

That's not necessarily true. Especially not for car chargers.
You end up moreso paying for the mount itself than its wireless capabilities, and as many people who've bothered trying to use a cheap mount to hold their device will tell you, you don't want a cheaply built mount holding your device while you're driving down a crappy road or going over speed bumps.
Not to mention the differences in effort required to remove the device once it has been placed. Some mounts allow one-handed operations, some require two, and some are best left alone entirely unless you can stop to interact with them.

The price of the phone is irrelevant. The dock is overpriced and doesn't provide even a decent value, the home wireless charger is overpriced too. They could have sold them both for 39.99, made a profit and sold significantly more than they will at the 80-100 price point. Either way, it's nice that there are other options for sub $50!

I've had my fair share with cheap car mounts, probably gone through 4-5 of those cheap $20 mounts in the past 2 years. so i agree on that part which was kind of my point except i'm not very good with analogies.. i would not pay $50 for the samsung home wireless pad , but i will pay $80 for the samsung car dock, because while it doesn't apply to all things, sometimes you do get what you pay for. the samsung dock just looks a lot better than other options, even if it cost $20-30 more. the last mount i had wouldn't even stick properly to the windshield when the outside temps dropped below 30F..

I seriously considered the hell out of that thing because I REALLY like the design. Also no wireless mount will be able to match it in terms of speed and ease of device placement and removal as well as positioning.
I just really couldn't bring myself to trust my $1000 device on a charger without some sort of "hands" to catch it on the off chance that the grip and magnet fail and allow the device to fall.
The Tylt car charger is the one to beat for that reason alone in my book. It's also a bit cheaper than the AirDock which is nice since it looks like I'm gonna end up buying 3 cases before I decide on one to keep haha.
After a lot of searching I decided to just get this dock. I will have mine wednesday from amazon for 85 bucks. In the past I used Ibolt for my S4 and absolutely loved it. Ive had this dock for a while now i bought it for my galaxy note edge and i have to say its a good car holder holds tight and im yet to have it fall off the window... knock on wood haha. The charge on it like any other qi charger is slow but it holds well if you are using the maps app or streaming music.
However i just dont like things on my window so i ended up buying a vent mount from a company here in sydney that makes specific mounts to your car. The website is: www.holdmyphone.com.au
And i also bought a garmin gps ball mount for it. Its a little tight but once you get it on there and tighten the nut it doesnt move. Out of site out of mind.

FWIW, I've purchased several supposed samsung / OEM ones from various third party sellers that are close, but have never got one that is a true OEM. Same applies for other Note models.
The best ones have legitimate looking packaging, supplies, etc. One of the tells is that they often lack a number under the China / Vietnam stamp. Another is that they sometimes don't stay put in the pen slot and fall out.
The main issue with these is that they don't have much pressure sensitivity, which matters to me as I like to play amateur artist on my Notes. Compared to an OEM Note 10.1 2014 pen (1024 levels of sensitivity), the knockoff Note 4 pens have much less range (should have twice as much, 2048 levels). In fact, they even have less than my old tablet PC Wacom pens (which have 256 levels and are compatible with the Notes). If I were to guess, I'd say the 3rd party Note pens average 128 levels of sensitivity. I have even bought a Note 7 pen (should be 4096 levels) that came in packaging and everything but performed like this.
Otherwise, they work fine and should be perfectly adequate if you are just using them for notes, navigation, etc. Very rarely a really cheap knockoff won't have removable tips and only has like 4 levels of sensitivity, but those are less common these days. Even those ones tend to have the samsung logo and are generally sold by people claiming OEM.
I wouldn't pay top dollar for one unless I was getting it directly from samsung. I am currently doing my drawing with a Note 5 pen I bought from them (on sale for $20 last I checked), which unfortunately doesn't register as docked when in the pen slot but otherwise works great. If I weren't drawing I would use one of the several close knockoffs I paid from $4-$12 for on eBay and Amazon.
I just got 2 of them from the eBay link. They both work great. The button works, hand writing mode works well, it fits snugly in the phone and the phone knows when it’s docked. I’m pleasantly surprised since they were only $4.00 each. FYI the eBay seller says they're used and may show it but they look brand new to me.
Thanks, Geno
