Help me to restore my HTC Sensation 4G - HTC Sensation

I have a HTC Sensation 4G T-Mobile. I wasn't carefullly when update OTA and it's now bricked.
These are steps which I worked on my HTC:
- Unlock Bootlocker -> Ok (HBoot version 1.8)
- Install custom recovery -> OK.
- Root -> ok.
- Update from version Android 2.3.4 to Android 4.0.4 by OTA
-> Now, it's bricked, when booting, it only show white screen with HTC logo
Please help me to restore it. Thanks.

Thank you very much. It's ok now.
However, I want to update my HTC manually, not by OTA, I try this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1654347
Before try, my HTC was unlocked bootloader, installed 4EXT. I use 4EXT, choose "install from sdcard" -> select file zip -> after finish, my HTC is bricked again. Which step I was wrong?
My HTC android version is 2.3.4, I want to update with a custom rom which has android version > 4.1.2. How to do this? I can ignore the step to update OTA to 4.0.4? Please give me the instruction or topic for guide. Thanks.

you need to update your firmware version first
you are still on gb firmware so you can flash only gb roms
that rom you tried is ics rom
tell me your current status now and i will tell you what to do next(locked/unlocked bootloader S-ON/S-OFF etc)
does you phone working now?

Thank for your reply.
After my HTC was locked boot, I re-flashed with stock ROM as you helped me in first reply. and my HTC was restored again successfully. After that, I update to ICS by OTA but still failed, my HTC is still locked boot. I think this is an official solution, why my HTC is still locked boot.
My phone status at upgrading:
- Bootloader unlocked.
- S-on.
- Custom recovery.

S-OFF your device with revolutionary.io method
http://revolutionary.io/
then flash 3.33 universal from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
follow the instructions to the letter
and before flashing check md5 sums(important)
after upgrading your firmware your current rom won't boot
so just flash from custom recovery an ics/jb/kitkat rom

Yeah, I updated my HTC with ViperS and it's ok now, and I also unlocked SIM. I understood the way how to s-off, unlock bootloader, root and custom ROM. But I don't understand the difference between s-off and unlock bootloader.
After completing my purpose, do I need to change s-on and lock bootloader as original? Thanks.

with S-OFF you have access to the firmware partition too and you can flash custom roms without flashing the boot.img manually after(with S-ON boot partition is still protected)
by the way why do you want to return to locked and S-ON? there is no reason for that

Fastboot flash system.img - Possible with unrooted S-ON Stock Sensation?

*********
Hi,
down there you find the original thread/question but i think the only possibility to keep the data on a Sensation with not working touchscreen may be to flash a system.img from a RUU and hope it boots.
Is it possible to flash system.img via fastboot with a locked S-ON Sensation?
Thanks
Regards
Daniel

Hello,
my GF owns a unrooted S-ON completely stock Sensation and did the official german t-mobile update (sorry we did not write the number down).
After the update the phone boots but the touchscreen does not work. You can't enter the pin code and also the volume buttons does not work. Only the power button works "a little bit". You can turn on / off screen but you can't open the shutdown menu.
I can enter Bootloader but as it's locked i don't know what i can do there.
Is it possible to mount the file system to backup some data?
Or is there any other way to apply a official htc firmware WITHOUT DELETING ALL USER DATA?
Thank you very much
PS I should have rooted / s-offed it before, damn it... ;-)
Wrong thread, this should go in Q&A section
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda premium
Okay sorry - could someone move it please?
Anyone?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Okay another idea.
Is it possible to extract a german T-Mobile RUU and just flash the system.img via fastboot? Do i have a chance to make it work again this way?
Or is it not possible to flash system.img when the phone is stock?
hey... i got the same problem.. tried a few things but still no working sensation :/
What did you try?
I think running a T Mobile RUU should work (but the user data is beeing deleted)
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
no, there is till now no matching tmob ruu :/
So is it only possible to run a RUU with the exactly same version as on the phone?
please help me

Please start a new thread, is the htc logo in black with four "!" signs at the edges of the screen? please give us more information about the phone(s-off?). also there are lots of RUUs in this link, you can just try them or manually pull the files you want from them.

maybe with a goldcard you can by pass it but i am not sure

Sensation not booting into android...radio missing ?

Hey guys,
Recently got a sensation, and i am stuck on the HTC screen.
I was able to get the bootloader unlocked, and installed CWM with no issues. I install roms, but after reboot, it just stays stuc at the white HTC screen.
For some reason, my phone has a unlocked bootloader, has S-ON and will not boot into ANYTHING besides the bootloader and CWM.
Ive tried many stock roms for it, with no luck !
I have also tried flashing boot.img and the PG185 file with ADB, which starts working, but for image i get a error that says FAILED - Remote signature verify failed.
So, how can i get S OFF ? And also i think my radio went MIA ! Here is the info :

Can you guys please hep me find the right PG185 file, a compatible rom with the stock kernel just to get this working ? I have flashed many phones like the HD2, Galaxy SII and the Galaxy Nexus with ZERO problems ! I just find this one a bit hard and i have been trying for HOURS (atleast 7-10 hours =/)
Any help will be APPRECIATED !
You should use the tool at http://revolutionary.io to obtain S-OFF then flash a 3.33 firmware from the thread in the dev section. Then you can flash a ROM. The reason its not booting now is because ICS ROM's wont boot on GB firmware, hence the need to flash the 3.33 firmware

Search the market for 4EXT
or search the dev section for 4EXT (I know for a fact that there is a thread in the dev section for it, its just a few pages in so use the search function)
Jonny,
I did see it on the market, but since its a APK, i cant download and use it.
How can i flash it through ADB ? as that is the only option i think i have. Even CWM is gone now, unless i flash that through ADB too...
Ok,
I have now gotten 4EXT to work on the phone. I am still S-ON and running 1.18 hboot. I tried to flash again through ADB with no luck. How can i obtain S-OFF without having a rom ? I even tried o install a GB Rom, and the same stuff happens, HTC white screen, then reboot.
I know i am a bit closer to success !

With s on when you flash you will also need to enable smart flash in your 4ext recovery.

so,
Boot into RECOVRY
ENABLE 4EXT smart flash
install rom
reboot ?
I did that with no luck. On my 1.18 hboot i tried installing a stock ics rom, and also a GB rom

Because you are S-ON you need to manually flash the boot.img from the rom your trying to flash by using the following command:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Also there is a guide around here about flashing ROM's with S-ON
---------- Post added at 02:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:15 AM ----------
Oh and Ive just seen the attachment - you still have GB firmware so you need to download the 3.33.401.6 ICS RUU from Football's Shipped ROM Collection thread in the dev section and install that because AFAIK you cant flash firmware manually whilst S-ON, it can only be done via an RUU

Ok..
connect your phone in bootloader/fastboot to pc (the phone should read fastboot usb after this.. If it is showing
" hboot" then press power button once that would take you to "fastboot usb")
Once connected.. Open command window from your adb/fastboot folder
And type this
fastboot getvar all
Post the complete output of the above command.. Except imei and serial number
Then I can see your current situation and can help you further
(also FYI fastboot oem unlock won't work.. That's not the command to do unlock.. Check htc-dev site)

connect your phone in bootloader/fastboot to pc (the phone should read fastboot usb after this.. If it is showing
" hboot" then press power button once that would take you to "fastboot usb")

you cant run ICS roms as of now ..as your firmware is still old one ...i.e. of ginger bread one
so if you now wanted a bootlable phone ..find some GB rom ..and flash it as you did earlier (flash via recovery and then manually flashing boot.img)
if you want ICS rom ..then its tedious process for you
1.first you cant update firmware while Being SON (mark my words and ignore if anyone said to update to 3.32/3.33 firmware when they know you are SON)
2.first you need to soff... you need to relock the bootloader and then should try revolutionary
(unlocking is easy process ..just get the Unlock_code.bin to adb/fastboot folder and fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin)
3.if revolutionary failed with zerg root failed error ..(cant do root ..something error )... you need to unlock the bootloader again
flash the stock recovery...using this post
4.after having stock recovery .relock bootloader again and you need to try revolutionary with tacoroot ..which is automated in this tool
5.once you got SOFF flash the 3.33 universal firmware ...firmware link here
6.then flash a custom recovery (preferably 4EXT ) and then your custom ICS ROM
SLOVED

[Q] HELP!! HTC Sensation XE flash kernel by mistake!

Hello
I have HTC sensation XE
CID: HTC__001
MID: PG5813001
Software:4.0.3
It's was unlocked but still S-ON. And I clicked flash kernel in (HTC all in one kit) by mistake which it has number (Stock 2.6.39.4).
Then the device rebooted and freeze on the green HTC logo. I still can go to the recovery window lock and unlock the bootloader. But I tried one RUU which gave me many errors first 155 then 131 or slimier.
I tried to change the CID in the ROM file then rename it and flash it but still fails.
I am trying (RUU_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_ARA_3.32.415.115_Radio_11.69A.3504.00U_11.23.3504.07_M2_release_257539_signed)
Is there any solution or I lost the device?
Please help
thank you all,

if you have unlocked bootloader there is no need to S-OFF
continue from the step4B,find the stock ics for XE and flash it via recovery(don't forget to enable smartflash)

for stock xe(if you want)download from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529941
but be careful.for xe download the one in the second post
and always remember before flashing the rom enable smartflash first
best wishes
Thank rzr86 I really appreciate your help.
I'm downloading the right stock now.
By the way, I did flash the one I already downloaded it. It was done ok, gave me some options which I didn't know what should I choose. But finally when I restart the device it's still on the green logo.
I flashed the right stock you gave me. After finishing the reboot freeze on the green logo?!
Any tip?

hmm, before flashing the rom i assume you enabled smartflash
if yes then try again to flash the boot.img manually
one question: did you supewipe before installing the rom?
Yes I enabled smartflash before superswipe and before the stock flashing.

ok then flash the boot.img manually.if you don't remember how see here(extra 1)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861
if that fails too then i can think only one solution.flashing a ruu.exe again but not the one that you mentioned in your first post because i noticed firmwares are not matching.i'll show which one
just try first the boot.img
Yes it worked this time.
But unfortunetly the wifi isn't working and show error text in the setting. Any idea?

really happy for you man.:good:
now about wifi: it is supposed to work because you flashed the boot.img(it has to do with ramdisk and kernel)
the only thing that i can tell you is to flash it again
if it still shows error try to use wifix manager
I'm happy too thank you so much.
I tried to reflash boot.img, wifi didn't work.
And I tried wifi manager, didn't fix it either.
Please help :fingers-crossed:
i have only 2 options
1: to flash the whole rom again(maybe bad flash) or
2: to flash a ruu.exe and start from the beginning
for the 1 don't forget to superwipe and smartflash enable and
for the 2 see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672425 and locate this one
RUU_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.33.401.106_Ra dio_11.76A.3504.00U_11.24A.3504.31_M_release_26617 2_signed.exe
edit: as you can see it has your current firmware not the one that you tried in first place
best wishes

actually i tested it and it started to download the exe
If wifi still not working after doing extra 1 step..
Then reflashing the rom from recovery without any wipe will help (just make sure you enable smartflash though)

You are actually S-ON, that means you can only flash a RUU of same version as installed or a newer one + you need an RUU specific to your CID. I'm gonna try finding a fitting RUU.

Hello, I have similar issue with my phone. Everytime phone starts automatically in fastboot mode, recovery is not available. What can I do to fix my HTC One S (S4)? I was trying to fix my phone, using RUU, so i download RUU_Ville_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.16.401.8_Radio_1.11.50.05.28_10.27.50.08L_release_301814_signed_2_4 for my phone with cid HTC__032. Was it good RUU?
When I go to fastboot mode, and type command in cmd, it always gives "device not found" or "signature verify fail" and I can't do anything.
Can somebody help me please?
