Wireless Charging Universal Vehicle Dock - Galaxy Note 4 Accessories

Hi all,
Was just surfing the samsung UK and spotted this. Could be interesting, but im guessing the charge yet will be quite slow and poor.

That actually looks pretty darn good! I've been looking for a decent Qi car dock for a while, and I think I could probably live with this one! I just want to know what the heck is up with all this stuff that's showing up in the EU store but not in the US? Europe's got the S-View Classic Edition cover, and now this, while America's got none of it! C'mon Samsung, we want this stuff too!

Darn it, here's another thing on the UK page that looks crazy that's not here in the US!

I am using Itian C1It holds the charge steady with screen on, GPS nav on, and BT streaming. If navigation is not being used (GPS is still on) it actually charges at a decent clip. And it has one handed operation (the only one I know).

Any dock for Galaxy S?

e.g. Speaker dock, normal dock for charging, etc
Because i see a lot of dock on iphone, but no dock for android phone?
It would be very useful.
Trouble is, with the USB connector on the top, the normal 'drop in' operation of a dock is not workable.
This is not a dock, but a homemade stand
good job
it reminds me of the old Casio watch boxes
those makes great phone stands
Btw, there are official docks now..
http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/...ype=acc_detail&subsubtype=chargers&returnurl=
So yes.. Possible, and definitely workable..
a bit expensive, and bulky for the car, but it works

There are proper Car docks too (which are very expensive I feel), but they also apparently change the phones profile when you plug it in (so goes to navigation probably). http://www.slashgear.com/galaxy-s-o...aled-desk-car-docks-dlna-hd-streamer-1197250/ Probably also comes with car charger and such
I probably would consider the car dock personally if the GPS fix in september DOES actually work.
The home and car dock apps are now released for Samsung Captivate. So I would say there's a good chance the the official docks will be coming out in a month or two.
To download the apps from the market, you need to have a Captivate phone. Good thing that there's work around. Download My Market from the market, launch it, set provider to US T-Mobile, and search for Samsung.

Is that a 3.5mm audio-out in the back of that dock? I wonder if you could output to both the 3.5mm on the phone and the dock at the same time, probably not but would be interesting.

What is the actual app called? Searching for Samsung brings up hundreds of apps.
Kidigi make one too

The Samsung one is a beaut though, damnit why are all the accessories out of stock?
Hey, so I have found those two stands that are compatible with the SGS, it may worth checking out, since I cannot really post links here it goes

w w w.mobilefun.co.uk/desk-genie-non-slip-charging-desk-stand-p22432.htm
let me know if you already have them and give a quick review if you can.
cheers.
Here is one for the T-Mobile Vibrant I don't see why it won't fit the other models as well
http://www.wirelessphonegallery.com/samsung-t959-vibrant-battery-charger-ECR-D979BEGSTA.aspx
I've got a desk genie... [actually mine was an advertisement for a pharmaceuticals company, but the same thing]
I wouldn't call it a cradle tbh since it's just a highly rubberised surface, the USB hub is nice for charging/syncing. I've not tried placing the phone horizontally on it yet.
The sound sphere looks interesting. tbh I'm really after a desk-cradle; something you physically insert the device into and sync up
Any luck finding a car dock with "integrated" usb-charger?

PowerSkin Protective Case

hey guys has anyone tried this ?

this looks goood. Official from HTC, not a high prize. But do we know something about mAh, and if i will be able to put my phone wit it in my jeans?
Picture from Amazon
at amazon
it's says 1500mah
lol im not sure i was hoping someone would actually have had experience with this as i am considering of buying one and would like reviews. when i checked on amazon they did not have any in stock and no reviews
I'd like to try one.
There is a Desire HD review (at the bottom) for the same case for the `HTC Desire / Inspire 4G'.
(It's better to get more than one review however.)
It's cheaper in the US (Newegg) but they don't ship internationally.
Hmm. Dhd is heavy enough without external add. Besides I had mobile charger for my old hd2 broke micro USB in less then week :/
i'm looking for this type of case for my DHD, i'm from the philippines but i cant find this in stores here.. can anyone help me find a store that ships here?
Looks interesting. Do I have it right that it uses your existing battery in tandem?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA App
GREAT!
looks good, I have been looking for something like this for ages, but with not much success, just the price is a little high...
I bought one on ebay and the truth that has nothing to envidiala, and much cheaper

I have them... but version for HTC HD7. The only difference is... volume and power button is in other side, but works well coz soft rubber! )
Its only 800 mAh, so... after connect them to devise - it will give you 70-80% charge of the main battery... so if your battery is still have 20...30% of charge - you will get full charge.
Im using this case as "fail-safe" function... Case is full charged and going with me in bag, and if... I need to re-chrage battery - Im connecting them
I sourced on in my nook of the globe, and have since tried to get as much info on it as possible before dishing out the moolah.
It seems when connected it is basically a charging source. Its like using a charger instead of an extra battery.
I.e. it charges up the phone while connected until it runs flat, then phone starts using internal battery. It also doesnt allow normal usb function at all while connected to pc, as pc doesn't recognise it, it merely uses the connection to charge from.
It seems like a usefull pack if you use the phone for navigation in the car etc, or long stints in transit listening to music or watching movies.
The skin can be kept on without engaging the batterypack so you only connect when internal is running low.
Dunno, depends on your tastes and needs, I will probably get one when budget allows. going for R417 ~ 53$ or something like that round here Usefull since SA stores SUCK at keeping anything htc related on the shelves, its only nokia, samsung, iphone etc that get recognition...

PLX kiwi bt with Torque??

Anyone use this? I got a check engine light on my 02 toyota so I figured its time to have one of these puppies. Haven't hooked it up but Im looking for folks that have used it with the skyrocket...or really, any phone for that matter.
I don't know anything about the app, sorry.
But just in case you didn't know, AutoZone will check your engine codes for free. Probably other auto parts stores will do the same.

Right but my car is getting close to 100k and I don't really want to have to go down to autozone for the diagnostic every time. I have received the PXL Kiwi bluetooth unit and I must say that Im in love with it. Will go great with my tablet and road trips. Works great with torque free version. I am able to read and clear codes along with monitoring any temp or measure regarding the motor I can think of.

But you'd still have to go to autozone to get the part to fix the check engine light anyway, right? I'm glad you're enjoying your purchase though. Gives me one more thing I want to get.
I use this one works great for those re-occurring codes that really are not critical.

I bought this and it works good with torque. It's also cheaper.

Well, not really...I can order the part online usually and for a discount most times...but sometimes I end up at pepboys anyways.
On a side note, I replaced the pre cat o2 sensor and now my car stalls idle and keeps going into open loop. The good thing is I can watch whats happening with torque and the obd2 connector so I have an idea what the problem is even though its not throwing a fault code. I did clear the fault code but I didnt reset the ecu. Im thinking it just needs to be reset and re-learn its values.
Yes torque and the cheapo Ebay obd2 adapter work with this phone.

Not quite...its a toyota solara. I would love a subie though.
Or use Mobilscan (mobilscan.dk) adapter and software from same company works great on my MR-S
get a vgate adapter from ebay v1.5 for 25-30$ plus the premium otrque app, so for 30$ you get a great system for car diag
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-VGate-Mi...t=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item3f0eb88d0a
works perfectly and all sensor work very well, had this for over a year and i dont reget it
OBD-II tool
I bought Torque as soon as it came out and its a great little tool and good fun but if you have serious diagnostic work to do the ScanXL packages are really solid and have licensed support for manufacturer specific PIDs.
A few years ago, before I had an android phone or torque existed. I picked up a scantool.net OBDLink bluetooth/usb adapter - they're a fair bit more expensive than the ebay units, but can read way more PID's per second, which probably isn't useful unless you're running a copy of the ScanXL software.
For day to day stuff Torq + ebay bt adapter make me feel dumb for spending all that cash, ug.
I dunno about the ebay adapter but Im very happy with my plx. Sure I spent more but it got great reviews...maybe the other cheaper ones work but Im happy. Torque just fixed the themes too.

Found a handy wireless Qi charger

Hi,
I managed to get my hands on a Qi charging stand for the Nexus 4.
I put a review up of it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=5pkl-BYmaSQ
I'm not sure if the Qi charging thing with a stand is a totally new concept, I just thought it added something a little bit more useful to the wireless charging concept.
Pretty cool.
1) How fast does it charge the phone?
2) When will it be available?
3) How much will it cost?
So when can we buy these things cheap?
Nice where do I buy some?

1) It takes a while, not as slow as USB though. A couple of hours approx.
2 & 3) Not sure, soon and cheap I hope!
looks good, thanks for video
but...surely its not 'cheap' until there's a price?!
looks nice actually and pretty handy with the stand combined..
let us know as soon as possible when can we buy it !
That's pretty cool. Will you let us know when the product becomes available?

Liking the concept! This would work perfectly at the office for me and maybe even home, but I already have 2 charging pads lol.
Would definitely be interested in one or two if the price was right, looking forward to hearing when it comes out!
I believe that product is by m-cloud :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi6OwWLvcBo
not sure if its available online now though....
m cloud so that works out at around ca. £40/$65/€50 for the tilt model and about GB£32 for the compact one. tilt one does look nice

Decent bluetooth keyboard case for the Tab A 10.1 (w/S-Pen)

Had a different keyboard case when I had my Note 10.1, but I found this on Amazon that I really like (actually like it better than the other case with the Note). It has a nice feel and doesn't feel bulky either. I just remove the keyboard to the side when I need to use the tablet without the keyboard.

Thanks! What is the battery life like on this?
I'm currently looking around ebay as this one doesn't ship to my country from Amazon unfortunately. It does look like a re-badge of ebay options, but I've not found an exact match yet

Hold that... US$10.50 shipped at gearbest (no branding, no case required as I've got one) http://www.gearbest.com/keyboards/pp_326776.html
is there any way to find this keyboard with an es_ES (spanish) layout?
These are the two that I am trying to de ide on.. I can't post links yet so you will have to look these up on Amazon.
iClever Ultra Slim Wireless Keyboard, Tri-folding Premium Aluminum Alloy Bluetooth Keyboard with 3-color Backlight for iOS Windows PC, Tablets, Smartphones.
Jelly Comb Backlit 7-Colors Slim Portable Wireless Bluetooth 3.0 Keyboard for iOS, Android and Windows Tablets.
I might just end up buying both and trying them both out.
UPDATE: the iClever keyboard hinges are made of plastic, not aluminum as the description suggests. There are many versions under different brand names for this style from amazon and Alibaba. The Jellycomb malfunctioned(stuck key) after 2 hours of use. Returned both. Now looking into options at places such as fbperipherals dot com. Those are pretty pricey though.
I just baught the Samsung Book Cover for my P580 but it hasnt shipped yet
Sorry for completely forgetting to update the thread!
The iclever keyboard works well. However the hinges are plastic painted silver. I had little confidence in their long term integrity, so returned it.
The Jellycomb keyboard was fantastic for about 3 hours max before keys stopped working., so returned it.
