Hi
Every time I reboot the phone while plugged in the wall charger, the SystemUI is in a loop crash until I unplug the cable.... It happens in safe mode too...
Stock rooted Lollipop
Am I the only one with this bug?
Thanks

My phone was being EXTREMELY slow after I installed everything and my phone was running. So I rebooted and didn't have any problems like this, but it just doesn't feel as snappy as KitKat. Maybe it's just me... also apparently we didn't get all the new notification sounds
Nope, everything fine here. I made a manual flash and flashed everything exept for userdata.img

I did the upgrade without wiping userdata. But everything is fine when the cable is not connected and the phone is not booting... Strange
hi guys,
anyway work around on sd bug ?
My internal memory is on '/0' now...
thanks !
Same here. ****ing lag. Takes 20 second to response. Wtf lolipop?
Found this, exactly the same bug on the preview Android L
SystemUI crash loop when … : http://youtu.be/y8KVtFYEs_4
Installed factory image, no problems.
I found, that lag is there if i play music with PVSTAR+ (youtube player) in backround. Lag on lag! I dont now, why i cann't find Freedi music player in Play Store..

its just you. i flashed the factory image, (flash-all.bat script) and lollipop is much faster than stock 4.4.4 (which i was using before the factory images came), so I can tell its faster. I didnt root it yet though..
FYI
I flashed the factory image again, including wiping my data
and this time it's fine.

Maybe it was just because I was updating apps last night, but YouTube kept freezing... and etching... I never remember that on KitKat.

You're right! It seems to have straightened out some, it's way better now. When I rebooted this morning, boot took some time, but it was pretty fast as soon as the lock screen came up.

Try getting rid of MusicFX.apk (it's a guess)
I don't know what you guys did to say that 5.0 is laggy and all about these "bugs". I have two Nexus 5 running stock image and N4 running compiled from source , Nothing wrong everything's fine! :/

Wipe Cache Partition, if doesn't work wipe data/cache partition with Factory Restore.
I have the same problem as you. First, I have followed method 1 from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701) to flash the factory image on my N5. Then, I had System UI crashed in loop like you.
After that, I have flashed again the factory image using method 2 this time. Same problem happened again We have one thing in common, we're using the french UI in Android. I have change my language to english and everything seems fine for now. I'll post later if the system UI crash again.
I have another problem with the french UI in Lollipop, do you have in the search bar "Dîtes 1$s" instead of "Dîtes OK Google"? I've uploaded a screenshot of this .

loop crash at the boot when plugged in the wallcharger (until I unplug it)
the only way to not have the bug is to set no lock at all (not even slide)

Edit: It doesn't seem to boot. It gets stuck on the android screen.
about 3m freee in system, so regular jb gapps wont work unless modified to use /data. ics gapps work.
if you have bootloop:
adb shelll and
rm /system/lib/hw/gps.sholes.so
or just delete it from the zip before flashing

Installd ics gapps.
So, got rid of bootloop using adb to remove gps. Boots up fine after that.
CPU overclock settings can not be changed in settings. Works fine in setcpu.
No camera app included.
EDIT: Phone was plugged into usb port on computer entire time, and I noticed that the battery was not charging. Flashed back to my daily driver for now and phone is charging again. Not sure if this is common to anyone else or just a bug for me.
this is filthy! so fast. i used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30325746&postcount=1977 nightwing's .zip to get market over adb. wireless also works. mp3's through music load up like it's going to play, but then flashes a screen where song progress is complete and goes back to the artist list, but media server found all my songs. m4a's say file not supported. bluetooth paired with my keyboard and worked. voice dialer worked to open apps and i got a few beeps out of it at the end of commands so some sound is working. mine's not activated though so i can't test radios. donations on the way. thanks for all the hard work.

mediafire virus
After using link at top of page to download from media fire using Windows explorer I got a message saying virus detected on my computer and the page looks exactly like Microsoft security essentials I clicked no and computer crashed!!! This makes 2 times I have gotten virus from media fire last time I was able to restore to an earlier backup this time computer wouldn't let me boot into recovery or anything after much trouble I got it to boot into safe mode only because I have recovery disks that came with PC but have not been able to repair it complelty yet because if I try to restore it ends with an error about system contains some file ( idont remember name) so if I can't figure it out I guess I will backup important files and do a complete restore from factory disks ( last resort ) . Just a warning . If anybody has any answers and or ways to prevent this please PM me. Hopefully this won't happen to anyone else
Sorry for highjacking thread I know this is off subject but don't want anyone else to become a victim!!
Link worked fine when downloaded from phone but I have no way to modify zip or use adb to make JB boot
Sorry to kfazz for this post I know its not his fault I found many people with same problem with a Google search

Similar problems, but mine's randomly deciding to boot up or not. Sometimes it doesn't boot at all, other times it boots on the first try.
However since the Camera, Wifi, and other Jelly Bean goodness works, I can't help but to thank you on this release, Good luck on further development!
EDIT: And now it won't even boot, sometimes it just gets stuck at a blank screen. Bummer.

Flashed over 7/12 ics build seems as good as ics was don't think I will be going back to ics. Gallery opens but never shows any pics fm radio is nice only plays in mono other than that everything else I have tested is working correctly great work as usual

Try to clear data and cache from camera in settings.
If that doesnt work either and you really have done the factory reset, you have to send it to repair bc of an hardware deffect. :crying:

I will try that but I think factory resetting clears cache, anyway. The phone camera worked fine previously but now suddenly it stopped.

And you flashed the right one? Hammerhead-4.4.2
Like i said before, if that doesnt help, you have to send it back to get a replacement.
You need to uncompress each download before use, which creates a new directory for that exact download. That directory contains a ./flash-all.sh script, which handles the various operations, installs the necessary bootloader, baseband firmware(s), and operating system. Note that this operation deletes all user data by default

Yes, I did it. Flashed the stock 4.4.2 and everything seems to work fine. However, when I tried updating using OTA after downgrading the update failed and stopped with "Error" message. After flashing 4.4.2 from scratch will hopefully allow smooth future OTA updates. Thanks everyone.

Good thing is - you got a Nexus, so its easy to flash all the stuff and go back to stock/factory image/recovery/...
:highfive:
Any update on this? I have this exact problem. No unlock, not root just pure OTA stock.
1. Video does not record. You press the red button and no timer comes up.
2. A VID_20140126_224910.mp4.tmp file is created 395.54 KB.
3. Time lapse works as do all the other camera functions.
4. The basic Google FAQ has generic instructions if an app does not work so I followed these.
5. in safe mode the camera works fine.
6. Power off and on again. The Video Camera then works fine and creates normal .mp4 files.
Things I have done that may affected the Camera in the first place;
1. Clear cache.
2. Put a .thumbnails file in DCIM to stop the gigantic .thumbnail folder being created.
3. Running nova launcher.
Unlikely these are a factor as I isolated them as an issue and rebooted but worth a mention just in case.
Camera works but have found the it subsequently stopped working again and had to repeat the Google FAQ steps to fix an app.
To answer my own question I found the uninstalling Said It_1.3.37.apk fixed the problem and just to prove it reinstalling brought the problem back.

Hi,
I just flashed my device with the new Android 5.0 stock image, only now i have multiple problems:
* mic doesn't work (i noticed since ok google detection setup doesn't work)
* no sound
* a lot of UI hangs/ crashes
* YouTube video's wont play
* calling doesn't work.
i already reflashed it multiple times, problems still persist.
i wiped my device before i flashed so i didn't dirty flash, and flashed all the .img separately.
Can anyone help me with this?

Multiple Android 5.0 problems on Nexus 5
I can't really help you much, but I wanted to express the fact that I also flashed the stock firmware image of Lollipop into my Nexus 5 and I am
experiencing a plethora of issues: Besides the ones you mention, please add CAMERA not working, show distorted image on screen, both back and frontal camera.
Shame on Google to release such a buggy and crappy firmware.... Truly expected it to be pristing.
On the other hand, have had on my other Nexus, a 4, the port of Android L and AOSP Android 5.0, pretty much flawless.... just barely minor issues...

There are issues:
- Battery dies in 4 hours. Battery stats aren't even refreshing to find out what is causing it. Phone is hot and eats like 1% in few mins. It actually discharges faster than I can charge! GSam battery monitor says it's Exchange Services that is eating all battery.
- Smart Lock loses connection to Windows 8.1 laptop
- Unable to unlock device, screen shuts down after you type in unlock PIN, after few retries it works

It's not crappy as I have no issues at all but that's not to say there are a few bugs here and there but mostly graphical bugs really. Functionality is flawless on my N5
Not even encountered a single crash, 8 hrs+ since installed. I wiped everything and didn't restore any apps. All freshly installed.
No solution I'm afraid, but just to let you know that I'm having exactly the same problem with the Microphone... so no phone calls, voice search etc. Just doesn't pick up any sound.
i reflashed the developer preview for now, that one does work without any problems (only the battery drain bug)
What method did you use to flash. Through a tool kit or by fastboot
i used fastboot, also tried it with a toolkit, both same result.

I have a Pressy.... I forgot I had it plugged in.... for some reason Lollipop saw it as a heaphone and mic.

Guys, here's a thought - as it's a new base perhaps doing a FULL RESET is the way forward
I always do a complete reset and flash from fastboot (not bloody toolkits) and never have any issues so I'm going to assume everyone with issues isn't wiping the phone first (I know the OP says they did a full wipe but in general, most don't)
Thinking this was a problem with the factory images... Didn't make any sense at all.

No, after you've flashed all the images, go into the stock recovery and do a factory reset and then allow it to boot up and set the phone up as normal!

This worked for OP but I just tried to flash this image and it did not work. Still no MIC SOUND. THis all happened After I flashed Xtrasmooth ROM from the xda dev section. Man this is depressing, is there anything else I can try ? I did a full wipe prior to installing it. Phone does not pick any sound. Only pick sounds during call in speakerphone mode....
I notice a lot of people having issues with the stock image. Flash the custom Roms...they seem to be working MUCH better..

Did you erase and flash userdata.img also during the flash, because i have none of your problems mate after a clean flash-all install.
Yes, i did erase and flash userdata.img, multiple times.
i have s6 dual sim international version SM-G920FD
after updating to 5.1.1 i have weird problem
if i play music then lock the phone ,the sound become noisy and repetitive and the normal speed is changed
this happens with the phone speaker and the head phone(lt channel)
i really don't think its a hardware problem as if i turned the lock on (even if i don't unlock the device just keep the screen on) the problem disappears then come back after the screen turned off

Does this happen with all the music players or did you just notice this with the stock samsung music player? If yes, try out poweramp or google play music and check whether the issue still persists.
This is apparently an issue for 5.1.1 update. I have been experiencing this issue and it is very annoying. I cleared "Music" app cache and data, I went to recovery and cleared cache data, and I even wiped my phone clean and installed a fresh 5.1.1 OS. I thought the last one would fix it, but the issue reappeared a few days ago. I hope someone can find a fix for this soon.
I tried other music players and the problem persists.

Is that PowerAMP also got this problem?
I have tried Power Amp and it's working great so far. I hope it won't crash anymore and I'll purchase the pro version.
I'm on 920f and luckily I don't have this problem (on h3g uk)

yes bro but little less severe
Try going to download mode and wipe cache. If it does not work do a full reset.

i already did that many times but it didn't solve the problem
i really need a way to format system and install a fresh one but i think that needs rooting and custom recovery with probability of not solving the problem

You don't need to root the system just to install a fresh OS. I did that, but the bug just kept coming back. If you really want to try a clean install, just download the ROM for your region/carrier and use Odin to flash. It doesn't require root and doesn't trip Knox counter.
Hi,
I've got my phone 2 days ago and the first thing I did was to update to Oreo Beta 3 from the official site. I find that the sound stops working every once in a while, unless I reboot the phone. Anybody else face this issue too?

I never upgrade the phone to another OS before I test it out completely because if you update, then you never know if anything was broken before the upgrade. Back to your question, I am on beta 3 and sound is fine, but it depends which sound you are referring too.

I refer to the whole system sound, everything including ringtone volume and media and alarm. Nothing works when I try to play a song or a video. But when I reboot it, it's working!

Did you sideload any apps, such as Google camera?

Nope. All I did was sideload the Beta 3 zip , and install every other app from Play Store.

I suspect its an app.
Try running with no apps then install one at a time.

Hello, I also had this problem until my first factory reset. I haven't had this issue since. It seems things can get messy when you upgrade to Oreo without a full wipe. Try that if all else fails. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. But I uninstalled GCMod5 (Google Camera port) the other day and I haven't found the issue ever since. Though I didn't flash it through the recovery, looks like it was affecting my phone somehow, and now it's gone! As of now, the problem is solved.
