Rooting LAVA iris N400 and all iris series - A complete guide about root

I know so many of us tired of searching about rooting this awesome device Lava iris N400 :laugh::laugh::laugh::good::good::good:
For u guys this is the compilation of other works which are working for rooting and this is not my work...Thanks for the developers
completely checked on my LAVA iris N400 so dont worry it wont brick ur device and i have succesfully rooted and using link2sd app its awesome do it guys...............Happy Lava
step by step guide for newbees...:angel::angel::angel:
first step; first and foremost install the correct ADB drivers to ur computer for Lava iris N400 using pdanet software
http://www.topnotchtablets.com/installADBdriver
use the above link for installing ADB drivers
please exit the pdanet software from the system tray before start rooting because it will interfere with ADB
second step; root lava iris N400 using Root_script_by_Bin4ry_v17.zip
- Download and extract this zip file: http://www.mediafire.com/?wadbxnnxa8kf4b4
- Enable USB debugging on your lava iris N400. (Go to Settings > Developer Options > Check mark “USB Debugging” and then tap OK button.
- Now connect your lava iris N400 to your computer via USB cable. The drivers should be installed automatically (or use Pdanet to install drivers)
- Go to the folder named “Root_script_by_Bin4ry_v17″ and run the “Runme.bat” file. This should open the command prompt.
- Choose the Normal mode by typing ‘1‘ and hit Enter button from your keyboard.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the lava iris N400 rooting process. Your lava iris N400 will reboot during the process after which Bin4ry will copy some files to your device.
- When your phone is back ON, you should find the superuser SU app in your app drawer. If it’s there, your lava iris N400have been rooted!
third step; use link2sd to extend phone memory (dont worry about small internal memory u can install now alot more enjoy)
make a second partition ext2 on microSD and enjoy the app

Lava Iris 501 looks a re-brand of some Chinese model, may be some premium one.
The look and finish of the phone is Outstanding for Sure.
can anyone tell which is his forefathers so users can have more options to develop customized apps and Rom's for it.

Lets see, I'll be picking it up in next few hours from a friends store.
will post back rooting results in a day for sure.

To go to recovery mode in english in lava iris N400...
press vol up+menu+power button simultaneously
then u will get green android logo which is like download mode then imidiately press home button....there ur the recovery mode in english...
u can backup ur data and u can do hard reset and wipe cache and factory reset enjoy lava.....
use volume keys to scroll up and down and pressmenu key to select....
if u press home button it toggles recovery mode and download mode inside the recovery...

Thanks a Lot for your detailed instructions, I've Just rooted My Lava Iris 501, using (Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18-28-jan-13)
phone was purchased a Hour Ago.
Now going to see if I am able to Backup the Current Rom, before i start loading up personalized stuff.

Edit: I see this is Stock recovery, which will only allow "User data backup" and Now I need to Hunt for a method of Installing CWM recovery to be able to backup
complete ROM if possible.

Thanks fahad, you did the great job writing up that tutorial and making Lava Iris 501 use CWM recovery without any problem.
How about we two make a custom Rom for our device, PM if you have such plans.

1). You'll need to root the Rom and install CWM before you can make a nandroid backup of stock Rom.
2). you cannot have both things, your warranty might be considered void when you root the device.
3). there's no current Rom for your device in market, you already have Jelly Bean, what new do you expect on the budget phone.

this phone runs on ICS.
i want to root it due to increase battery performance.
when the current ROM will come? also looking for jelly bean.

Dear Sanjay,
I just tried all possible ways to root my TAB HCL ME U2.
First i tried to root it via Super one click using command line it says;
D:\System\ADB>adb root
adbd cannot run as root in production builds
D:\System\ADB>adb shell
[email protected]:/ $
D:\System\ADB>adb shell getprop ro.secure
1
D:\System\ADB>adb shell mount -oremount,rw /dev/block/system /system
mount: Operation not permitted

Try rooting from mobile only like from ginger break.apk
Or use alternative app instead super one click.

I have also hcl me u2 , i rooted the same with unlock root, or can try one click older versions.

(UPDATE) Lava Iris 349/349plus, CF350e and CM Spark TV Rooting Guide

WARNING!!! No more warning. Your phone is 100% safe
THINGS WE NEED:
1. Usb Cable
2. Computer
3. CF Ice 350e (your phone)
4. brain.exe.. (THINK POSITIVE!!!)
1. Download then Install this driver SCI-android-usb-driver-jungo-v4 (Link in Attachment)
Installation path
Open SCI-android-usb-driver-jungo-v4 folder
go to x86 if your using 32 bit of PC and x64 for 64 bit PC. (I guess I do not need to elaborate more )
Open DPInst.exe ( follow instruction , its in English so it so easy to follow :good: :good: )
2. Download then install Vroot (Link in Attachment)
To download, uncheck
"Use our download manager and get recommended downloads"
then click "Download File" color green above.
Then:
Enable USB Debugging in your phone ( Settings/Application/Development/USB Debugging) don't connect to PC YET
Install then Open Vroot (Run as ADMIN if 7/8)
Connect your phone to PC tru USB Cable (Wait..... Vroot will detect your phone. After detected, just click the green button in chines text bellow in right side corner
.....wait wait wait.......... it will load approximately 1 minute or less than a minute
.....Phone will restart the there will be check displayed in the middle of Vroot on your PC,
VIOLA! your phone is successfully Rooted.

[Q] stock recovery.img for Lava iris 406q (ro.product.board=MSM8610)

Hi,
I am Santanu from India. Recently I bought Lava iris 406q running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2 GHz Quad-core process. From /cache/recovery/last_log I found the product board to be MM8610. I wanted to extend the recovery boot with CWM so I first found the recovery key sequence to be Volume down + power button. It was taking me to the stock recovery boot. But I could not find any CWM recovery for this model so I thought to use the one for Lava iris 405 (I found it on XDA forum). I flashed this recovery image using adb/fastboot. However, after reboot when I pressed the same key sequence as above the boot process is hanging at the boot logo and I am not able to get into the recovery mode. Althoght if I reboot normally at this stage Android is booting up and my phone is usable. Only thing is I can't enter into the recovery mode as before. Can any one here please explain me why this is happening and help me to correct me?
Also I could not extract the stock recovery from the device before flashing (my ignorance). It would be very helpful if someone can point me to an URL wherefrom I can download the stock recovery image. I would also like to know if there is any CWM image and CM ROM (or some rooted ROM) for this model that I can flash.

Hi,
Have you checked the key sequence to see if you can boot into recovery mode? I have found one article on net that explains how to extract different img files from Qualcomm based devices though I am not sure how much correct is the article. My perception is you need to make small local corrections as you go.
Here is the detail of the article.
To get the stock ROM/Firmware from Qualcomm based devices
Ref: (XDA is not allowing me to post an URL plz search with the name above or mail me at santanu[dot]chakrabarti[at]gmail)
Check the section HOW TO GET THE INFO OF YOUR DEVICE {QUALCOMM}.

Hi Santanu,
I too own the same fone.It seems you have flashed an unsupported recovery.
I tried to extract the stock recovery using flashify but in vain.I had heard that it can be extracted using adb.
Can you please provide me adb drivers so that I can give a try?

I also need a help from you. I had rooted my device few days ago and uninstalled default music player,file manager and SMS app with a third party one. I am thinking to send my phone to service center and need this file.Factory reset isn't able recover them either.Can you upload default file manager,stock SMS app and stock music player of this fine? You will find it inside /system/app/ .also do I require their .odex files? If yes then please upload them too

Hey Shreesh,
You can use vroot. Its the best. It does not contain any sort of malware.The anti virus apps detect it as malware because it edits certain files i android. For that matter any root app you use, the anti virus app will detect it as malware. So go ahead and root it using vroot. I have tried it my self and works without a problem.

I tried rooting it thru vroot yesterday but was unsucessful. I had recently received an 25mb update. Any other method?
I want to root the phone for the below mentioned reasons :-
1 I want to play high end games (by installing them on the external memory card i have)
2 move most of the non system apps to the external memory card , right now the " move to SD Card" option moves apps to the internal sd card.
Further setting the "Prefererred Install Location" in the "storage" section of settings to "external storage(SD card)" does not help much.
Any way to do these without rooting?

Hey,
You can use root genius. You have to install rot genius on your pc n connect your phone to the pc with usb debugging mode enabled on your phone(you can find it in developer options in settings) and click root now in root genius.And you cannot do the things you said without rooting...

Can anybody please provide the stock rom/custom rom for lava iris 406q, my device is not working properly after root, (though rooting is done successfully using SuperSU apk).
Its been a while now and nobody has created a stock rom for this device, even no rom is available in internet as well.
Pleeeeeeeeease i am badly in need of stock rom (in .zip format), i will be really helpful.
Once any1 person will provide stock rom, we can infact create more roms out of it.

Lava Iris X1 Atom

Hello! Its My First Ever Post In XDA ! Before 1 Month , I Rooted My Lava Iris X1 Atom . But When I Install Xposed Installer And Activate The Framework, But When It Reboots And Then I Open The App , Still Its Written With Red Text That Xosed Framework Is Not Installed! ! And One More Thing i'm Not able to boot into recovery from my lava iris x1 atom , when i try key combination ( power + volume up ) , a black screen appears , and then home screen! Whenever i try to boot into recovery from any app it stucks on lava logo(not bootloop) ! Please Help Me Out!!!!! No custom recovery Installed because its not a famous brand! plzzzz help me

Hey buddy r u still usin dt device? I bought it frm flipkrt n now all m apps r recognizing m ext sd crd as its default storage. Whn i remove m sd card all d apps tht i install aftr tht dnt wrk like subway surfer. Pls tell me if u r facing d same problem.

bro have u any luck?i have lava iris x1 atom as well..rooted with kingroot..busybox installed...system is r/w mounted..but xposed is not working..in the framework tab both app_process and XposedBridge.jar shows active and green but elsewhere it shows "the latest version of xposed is currently not active" no matter how many times i rebooted ..soft rebooted..tried version 2.7 exp as well as 2.6.1 stable..plz let me know if u have solved..TIA

@iamamit Flash stock ROM.
I flashed the 8GB version and it worked perfectly.

Look, If you install apps on SD card and remove the SD card, all the apps will be broken. Reinserting SD card won't fix it. it's not a problem its just a feature. So don't remove SD Card. Else change write location to Internal.

I updated mine and screen stops responding on Lolipop. I had to flash back to kitkat.

If it doesn't work change to SuperSU by installing SuperSU from playstore.. it will ask for root permission .. choose allow. it will automatically detect that kingroot is present and will ask you to remove it... Allow it to remove it! If it still does not work then your SoC's architecture isn't supported.

This phone's users are not bothered with upping it's performance. So no subforum. No Support from any popular dev with this device or interest in this device.

broo even i have the same problem with the same device lava iris x1 atom.. i have rooted many times unrooted many times tried installing stock rom finally settled with the own stock rom Lava_Iris_X1_Atom_S107_20150722 flashed using SPD_Upgrade_Tool_R2.9.9015 now i want root my device with a proper installation of cwm or twrp recovery n with working xposed installer ..... sir aslam who has previously posted about this mobile is'nt working for me.. plss help.....

flash dilemma
i have lava iris x1 atom phone i need to flash...but i cant find the correct firmware...the firmwares i found are s103 s107 s108 and s114...the phone has s104...can i flash those instead of s104?..whay is the meaning of s104/s103/s114 etc in lava firmware?
