Hello
I have a problem with receiving text messages on my OnePlus One I use Textra application and not the original application.
In fact after a while I no longer get the SMS I receive them only when I send one and I receive rhem with full delay which is very annoying
Does anyone have a solution?
Thank you
I also have no SMS reception. Sending SMS, calling und receiving calls, wifi , mobile internet - everything is working like a charm.
I am on the newest Sultan's cm13 ROM and since i barely use SMS i cannot really tell when it stopped working. Propably 6 or 7 updates ago.
It could be though that when trying to get a signal i tried to manually select a mobile network. Since then i am getting error messages "no service, couldnt connect to network" - always related with the wrong provider networks which i tried to chose that day. But even when i get that message it usually has the right network and is connected to it before i can look it up.
All SIM-Card status looks normal, my provider ensured me that everything should work from their side. I tried the SIM card in other devices and reception actually worked.
Could the SIM-Card be damaged? And are there options to try out besides full wipe & reset, which i would very much like to avoid? (tried wipe cache, dalvik cache, 4-5 different sms-apps and choosing different mobile networks already)

I have a problem with my HTC Trinity (Formerly an Orange m700). I have updated the rom several times over the last 18 months and it has always worked with no problems. However, I recently updated to a Manilla2D rom (Karmba_a's) and I have lost the ability to text!
Whenever I write a text and press send, it says "Your text message cannot be sent." The message comes up immediately I press send. No matter how many times I retry, it will never send. The signal is fine and I can make/receive phone calls and *sometimes* receive texts (although there is also a problem with this too). I have tried everything I can think of - checked the message centre number is correct, tried with 3G and GSM. I have tried several old roms including the original Orange rom (which all used to work fine) and still the same problem. I have updated the radio rom.
It is not a fault in the network - I've tried my sim in another phone and it works fine.
Nothing I have tried will work. Does anyone have any ideas?
Anyone?
I used to get that message on my Nike sometimes. But, that was due to poor reception.
Have you hard reset your device?
Pfft, all sorted.
It was a fault at Orange's end. I spoke to customer services and they sent a SIM update via text which seems to have sorted it out. I have no idea why I could send texts with another phone the other day (I couldn't today) and I guess the timing coinciding with me updating the phone was pretty unfortunate.
Thanks though.
I flashed CM7 TG reloaded last night and so far I'm loving it! Everything seemed to be working fine at first (i.e.- placed and received calls, sent and received SMS and MMS). After I performed said tests to make sure the ROM was functioning properly I went ahead and began restoring all my previous apps through Titanium Backup. It all went without a hitch until this morning when I tried sending a SMS. I'm using the default messaging app and where the "Sent: x:xx" would be displayed, it instead stays on "Sending...". Incoming SMS messages are also not coming in (I tried sending multiple texts from my gf's phone.) The odd thing is I can send and receive MMS without any issues and the phone will both send and receive delayed SMS if I place a phone call. Also, all incoming phone calls do not get through to me.
So to clarify, I CAN make phone calls and send MMS. I CAN'T receive phone calls or send/receive SMS UNLESS I place a phone call. Any help would be appreciated.
I just did a factory reset on my phone, cleared data/cache, wiped dalvik cache, and reflashed the ROM. I have not restored any of my apps so I'm running a clean install. I'm still experiencing the same issues. If there is a step I'm missing it'd be great to know so I have a fully functioning phone. Should I wipe /system as well or would that not help? I'm open to any suggestions at this point.
One more thing I've observed is that the signal strength stays at -120dBm until I open a call. Once a call is opened I gain signal strength to about -89dBm (this is at home for me) and that's when I receive a swarm of texts and any texts I tried to send prior to calling get sent. Is this any indication of something? If anyone could help, please do. I really don't want to go back to the stock rom haha.
edit: Ok, so if I disable the EvDo network then all of my problems are solved. Obviously I'd like to keep 3G, but this is where I'm at right now.
SAME PROBLEM. Started this past week. Was fine for months on TG reloaded.
I was thinking it was new app related, but you wiped and still have the problem?
I'm not going to wipe if you already tried it.
I'm going to try turning off EVDO and see what happens.
edit: INSTANTLY dozens of missing texts sent/received when going from EVDO only to CDMA only mode!
I am pondering if flashing back to stock ROM and re-running Virgin Activation app would help....
Damn I wish you could run Activation in CM7
So last night I did a little more digging... ended up clearing data and cache on messaging app, powering down, removing the battery for 30 min, powering back up and switching radio to cdma/evdo (vs one or the other).
So far texts / sms are working today, and I have neither made nor received any phone calls. Perhaps incoming are still going straight to voicemail, but I receive very few calls so I will check later.

Things seemed to also work for me when I went into System select (the option in Mobile network settings) and changed the cdma roaming mode from "Home", which was selected by default, to "Automatic". Haven't run into problems since changing that setting.
Well, I found this in the TG-Reloaded thread: "DO NOT use the Titanium Backup App, which can cause more problems"
I flashed mine about a week ago and haven't had any problems.
So for a while now I've had issues texting my brother, he has an iPhone 5c and I of course have a Nexus 5. I have extensively troubleshot this and searched online for solutions. Some said something about a bug in the Nexus 5 hardware that causes SMS messages not to go through on LTE or WiFi or something...but this only affects my brother's number
Whenever I send an SMS on hangouts (or the old stock messages app on CM11) to my brother, he never gets them. My phone shows that it has sent but he never gets it. He does receive my MMS messages. I tried changing apps, turning on and off various connectivity (bluetooth, wifi, LTE, data, etc) and only once he was able to get a message when I shut off WiFi, but I wasn't able to reproduce it again.
I get all his messages right now, but at one point I wasn't able to get his SMS messages either.
I traded my SIM into another older phone and he received all my SMS messages. Put it back in my Nexus 5, still the same problem. I tried a full reset with CM, a full reset to stock, I even had the problem with the phone I RMA'd for an unrelated issue. I'm stumped, because all the other numbers I have recieve my texts just fine, and I've long since removed extra devices from my old iCloud account.
Any ideas??
Are you sure the problem is on your side? I know that in Android you can block certain contacts from calling\texting you - I would make sure you're not blocked, found this online: http://ios.wonderhowto.com/how-to/b...messages-imessages-your-iphone-ios-7-0147393/
Wait, you're using CM. Do you use Google Voice? Is Voice+ enabled? And does this happen on other ROMs? Which carrier are you on and which carrier is he on?
Hello all,
I've been having an issue for the past couple of months where most calls to my phone go straight to voicemail (I'll very occasionally receive a call), and I will usually not receive text messages for several hours (toggling on/off airplane mode will sometimes force them to show up, but making an outbound call will always result in any pending text messages being received). When I do receive text messages, they all show up at once.
Note that the data connection is working perfectly fine - I can be browsing the internet no problem, but not receive calls or texts. Also, the signal is strong all through the area I live/work, and it doesn't matter where I am located, the issue persists.
Any suggestions on what is going on? It is out of warranty, so suspect Google will be no help. It sounds like an issue with the phone not checking in with the cell towers, and I also purchased the phone directly from Google, so I suspect T-Mobile won't be much help either (I'll be checking with them sometime this weekend, though).
Things I have tried:
1. Factory reset phone.
2. Removed and wiped off SIM card.
3. Installed newest updates.
4. Turned off all battery saving settings.
5. Messed with manually creating an APN according to T-Mobile's site, and played around with the settings.
Thank you
EDIT: I downloaded a cellular status app, and it looks like I see "Service State: Out-Of-Service" when I'm unable to receive texts. At times that I receive them, it says "In-Service." "Sim State" is always "ready," regardless.
EDIT 2: Looks like this is only happening when LTE is selected. If I switch to 3G, everything always works (EDIT 2: Just had a test call fall to go through. All test texts have succeeded, though). On LTE, it only works intermittently.
So here's what I have going on. I have a G965U that came with Verizon FW. I use a company that runs off of the Sprint/T-Mobile network. I was able to make and receive calls, although they were taking a bit to connect, and I could receive texts, but was unable to send or reply to text. I got it to work a coupe times, but it would only work for a short time. I was also getting a msg a few times a day that my sim card is not a Verizon sim.
I've tried different apn's with no luck, and the phone won't allow me to save the current apn settings from the carrier's site.
I flashed the FW to XAA U1, and the sim card msg is gone, but I still have the problem with texting. The only way to get it to work has been a software update, a factory reset, or flashing new FW, but they all still resulted in it only working for a short period. I just wiped the cache through recovery and will see what it does.
Any ideas what may be happening, and what I can do if the cache wipe doesn't help?
Hint: Add Samsung G965U to this tread's title thus mainly owners of such phone get addressed.
I should add that I also found a post online that said it's a network setting conflict, and to turn off wifi, download and install Google Messages, give full permissions, and setup chat, and that it would fix it, and then you could use Google Messages, or delete it and use the stock app. I tried that, and it did not work.
So far it's still working after 40 minutes. Usually I can only get 2-3 text sent before it stops.
