Nexus 6 or 6 Plus? - General Questions and Answers

Hopefully this falls into the guidelines for the Q&A. I can't decide which device I should buy, the Nexus 6, or the iPhone 6 Plus. Where I work, we have a 64GB 6 Plus for my carrier. So availability isn't an issue for me. Both devices have pros and cons. The biggest pro about the iPhone is that it can backup and restore my data with ease. The Nexus would allow me to do more (in a slightly less organized manner). What would you guys choose?

There is a sticky thread here for this kind of question: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846277
and i'm almost sure everyone here will suggest you to get the nexus 6 because you are in an android forum, not much apple fans here

Thanks for the link. Yes there are Android fans on here, myself included, but I sample from both systems so I don't develop a dependence on only one. Plus I sell phones for a living. So I have to give unbiased explanations.

There's a Nexus 6 Plus already?
Oh, you're talking about the iPOS 6 Plus.
You're unlikely to find many unbiased opinions here.

[Q] Best phone for someone coming from the Nokia N9?

Hey everyone-
I recently purchased a Nokia N9 off of Ebay on a, in retrospect, misguided whim. I love the UI of the phone and how seamlessly the device allows me to switch from one app to another. However, despite my love for the phone, I still find myself missing Android and its ecosystem (I owned a Samsung Vibrant for a few years prior to this phone). Even though the N9 does the few core things I normally do on a daily basis really well, it's still missing of the basic apps I used to rely on for daily use; i.e. Tumblr, Instagram, Ebay, and Amason. So I decided to sell the N9 on Ebay but now I'm pondering which phone I should buy next. I probably want to stick with Android, but I'm not sure which device to go with. I'm leaning towards either the HTC One X or the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, however, I'm certainly open to other suggestions. I'm certain I don't wanna go with Galaxy S III because I hate the Touchwiz skin. If anyone out there has any suggestions for me I'm more than willing to hear them. Thanks.
-Sincerely, bobofosho123
P.S. I know for a fact that I'm not looking for anything with a contract, and I know I'll buy it without one since I'm on a grandfathered T-mobile plan.
Nexus all the way bud. Always up to date and great community support!

£150 best phone to buy?

Hi all
I'm in a little bit of pickle and I don't no what to buy really.
Currently I have a nexus 4 as my main and regular phone, no problems its probs the best phone I've ever had.
I've just sold my Samsung s3 mini which I used during the day at work, it was nice and easy to handle in a rush.
I only have a fixed budget of £150 nothing over and has to have a 4 - 4.2inch screen nothing bigger, due coz when I am at work, I need to be able to handle it easily in one hand which nexus 4 is not really practical in doing.
I'm after a decent phone in spec wise and hopefully great community support, i love my nexus 4 coz of the customs roms available for it.
any suggestions or ideas will be much appreciated
Thank You

Should I upgrade?

I've been rocking a Samsung Galaxy S3 since it came out but my biggest question for you guys out there is, should I upgrade to a Nexus 5? (My only gripes are the non-insertable microSD card, but I'm fine with it). Why or why not?
Of course if you are willing to. There's nothing to loose.
Android 4.4 KitKat,
Advanced Camera,
Body Design,
Specifications and also it's a Google Product, These are the reasons to buy Google Nexus 5 .
Oh.. The Price is also reasonable. :good:

Two questions before I decide on buying.

I really have two questions.
First, are there any comparable devices with a lower price tag?
Second, are there any better devices for the same (or near the same) price point?
Most common complaints I come across is the design is plain and the price is high.
Thoughts?
Depends on what your are looking for. Focused on the Hardware there are many phones performing as well as Pixel.
But obviously there are many other aspects...
For me there is no comparebale device out there.
Im in the same boat. Just posted here:

Reviews like this one have me leaning towards the 10 for the value.

After Nexus brand decision

So.... My 6P finally died, along with the Nexus family. Now I face the decision I hoped I could postpone for at least one more year:
So what now?
I've checked a few options and now I am among three options:
OnePlus 5
Xiaomi Mi6
Huawei P10
Now this is my criteria for choosing my next phone:
Update cycle (most important) I always loved having 2 years of support with state of the art updates
Price tag, 450-500 would be ideal
AMOLED screen is strongly preferred. Hardware quality, nice camera and Snapdragon processor are preferred
So, keeping this in mind, would you recommending getting the P10 (which has a Krillin processor), the Mi6 (which has MIUI, and thus an uncertain update cycle) or wait for the 1+5 (at least one month holding with my old Nexus One, with unguaranteed stock and specs, even though most have been leaked and seem pretty solid). Keep in mind I don't include the Pixel family because of the excessive price tag and the release date (the second gen won't be released until October or so).
I come to the masters for help. Please give me the reasons for your choice and I'll really consider your comments. Thank you so much, people!

Thank you! I've read quite a lot, but I was expecting a direct comparison with these criteria in mind (also power users opinions, of course), this is why I decided to create a new thread instead of hijacking one of the currently available.

It is probably best to ask your question in the thread linked, we created the sticky try and stop the boards getting clogged up with comparison threads
Thanks for understanding
