[Q] Sim Unlock Z3 on O2 Network UK - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Looking for a cheap method to unlock a Z3. The phone is locked to O2 network and since I had bought it on Gumtree I can't request the unlock directly from O2. I found a few places online but they charge $30 the least.

Have O2 actually told you that they will not unlock? As I got my Z1 unlocked by them for free and I got that second hand from CEX. Just used O2's online system and got an email from them after a couple of days. (I believe you do have to be an O2 customer though)

If your in contract with O2 regardless of the phone they will unlock it free of its a o2 phone

I got a z3 on o2 contract via mobiles.co.uk and I have no sim lock or branding?

Thanks everyone for the replies. In the end I asked a friend who is on O2 to request the unlock and the phone is now unlocked.

Good to hear that - also, I'm a bit surprised that they refused to do it in the first place. European law states that they absolutely have to do it after 30 days - I don't think that the fact who is requesting it matters.

[Q] unlocking new htc wildfire from vodafone

hi everyone, can anybody help in my quest to unlock my htc wildfire, its locked to vodafone am havin problems gettin hold of unlock codes!!would be most grateful for any help, thanks.
I thought Vodafone unlocked phones for free or is it an unlock code issue?
I would go into voda and ask if they unlock for free cause i had (take that into effect) Had a vodafone mobile and they did have a website to unlock...
I've had alot of problems unlocking my HTC Wildfire on vodafone, wish I had just paid the extra to get a sim free one.
I had problems with alot of websites, not refunding money.
I'm currently waiting on HTCCODE to supply mine.
Ive spoken to customer support and they have the code for my mobile, but it cost a little more, but tbh if/when I get it, i'll be glad, vodafone are a crap company and I wish I had never given them my money.
They won't do it for free, if you are on Paygo, if you are contract, it should be unlocked or its free unlocking otherwise there's an "admin" charge of like 20 pounds, but i'd rather pay 23pounds to another website, rather than give vodafone any more of my money..
Good luck.
Thanks for sharing...............................
Its possible to unlock your HTC mobile using the codes. There are many providers offer this unlocking service. If you wanna code, get it from your network provider.
Once you get the code, you may follow the instructions from http://www.mobileunlockguide.com/ .It helps to unlock your htc mobile easily.

Call T-Mobile
If the phone is no longer under contract (the old owner finished out the contract, or the phone was bought full price, or whatever) they are pretty helpful with unlocking them, at least in the USA.
agreed. call the carrier and if your nice and have been with the carrier long enough they usually can help you out.
My Defy came from Argentina... No chances to get an unlock code... Does anyone know another way to unlock Defy? Actually mine is just like an IPod

[Q] SIM Unlock?

Hi
Anyone successfully unlocked their Desire S to use with a different sim card?
me - is the same like any other htc. I bought the code from htcimeiunlock.com
I have a Desire S from Austria and it didn't work by code because the provider (T-Mobile) changed it!
There must be a free way to do this, surely?
dont think so, need either paid for unlock code or xtc clip as i am aware.
just a heads up....if you are a customer of o2...they will unlock the phone for you free of charge...i just purchased this phone off them and had it unlocked

Is there any way to Network (Sim) unlock?

Is there any way to Network (Sim) unlock?
Purchased one of these today for my wife (2nd hand) but didnt realize it was network locked.
Couldnt find any threads on this so posting here.
A friend of mine recently unlocked his phone by calling his service provider and asking directly. He had to pay an unlocking fee of $80, but as they took into account what he had already paid in recharges/top ups, he ended up only forking out about &20 extra; and they put that towards his credit anyway.
I think Telstra and Optus charge the unlocking fee for sure, but others such as Vodafone don't.
Sorry I couldn't give you any info using the phone itself.
Hope this helps though?

Unlocking Sony Xperia Z5 (F3111) from O2 network

Hello!
A friend came back (to Greece) from England with a Sony Xperia E5 (F3111) which was registered on the Ο2 network. While still in England, she tried to insert the Greek network SIM number but she was asked for an unlock code. She went to a cell-store in London and the assistant told her that she would receive the unlock code in about 15 days (which have gone by and she hasn't). Now she is back in Greece and we ran the procedure described by O2 in their site but they say it will take another month or so for the code.
Is there any other possible way to unlock the phone? We no longer trust those ''unlocking sites'', since my friend has already paid some money with no results?
Please hide (edit and delete) your phone's IMEI. You are not doing any service posting the IMEI. better to keep it secure and hidden.
Have you guys contacted O2 for the unlock code?

Thank you, of course we did but they said it could take more than a month. Eventually my friend did the job via some American unlocking site...
