hi everyone, can anybody help in my quest to unlock my htc wildfire, its locked to vodafone am havin problems gettin hold of unlock codes!!would be most grateful for any help, thanks.
I thought Vodafone unlocked phones for free or is it an unlock code issue?
I would go into voda and ask if they unlock for free cause i had (take that into effect) Had a vodafone mobile and they did have a website to unlock...
I've had alot of problems unlocking my HTC Wildfire on vodafone, wish I had just paid the extra to get a sim free one.
I had problems with alot of websites, not refunding money.
I'm currently waiting on HTCCODE to supply mine.
Ive spoken to customer support and they have the code for my mobile, but it cost a little more, but tbh if/when I get it, i'll be glad, vodafone are a crap company and I wish I had never given them my money.
They won't do it for free, if you are on Paygo, if you are contract, it should be unlocked or its free unlocking otherwise there's an "admin" charge of like 20 pounds, but i'd rather pay 23pounds to another website, rather than give vodafone any more of my money..
Good luck.
Thanks for sharing...............................
Its possible to unlock your HTC mobile using the codes. There are many providers offer this unlocking service. If you wanna code, get it from your network provider.
Once you get the code, you may follow the instructions from http://www.mobileunlockguide.com/ .It helps to unlock your htc mobile easily.

Hi,
I've bought a HTC S710, which is locked on the provider "KPN". My simcard is another provider so i want to unlock my s710.
Could this be done for free? I see some site's that will do it, but very expensive(50 dollars or something). They also want me to send my phone to them, which i don't trust..
So has someone a free program/can someone give me my unlock code if I give me my imei number(or some other things from my phone, but my phone has to stay here)?
Thanks!
You are a newbie so you are probably not aware that what you want is called SIM unlock. The solution is one thread down, here.
I'm amazed by the number of people who don't know this...
All US carriers to sell LOCKED handsets are REQUIRED by LAW to provide unlock codes upon request.
All you need to do is call the carrier the handset is locked to hand request the unlock code. They will ask you for the IMEI and provied you with the code. If they give you any heat or static about it, just tell them that you KNOW they are required by law to give you the code.
The only way they can refuse is if the IMEI for the handset is tied to an account that still owes money, but if you purchased at retail pricing and never had an account, or currently have an account in good standing, they cannot refuse.
STOP PAYING FOR SIM UNLOCKING AND CALL THE CARRIER!
I have NEVER paid for a SIM unlocking service and am currently using the latest NRG energy rom on my unlocked AT&T FUZE.
SIM Unlock
I don't think what you're saying is true. I have searched for any trace of a US law requiring SIM unlocks an haven't found one. I did find this on wikipedia:
Singapore is the only country that forbid outright SIM locking and contract/phone bundling.
The US and UK don't have any SIM locking laws, but American and British carriers usually offer unlocking codes voluntarily.
Many countries listed below have some form of simlocking laws specifying the period of simlocking and the cost of obtaining unlocking codes. However their effectiveness may be questioned when we look at the iPhone's worldwide distribution practices. The worldwide launch of the iPhone has definitively shattered numerous myths about whether some country has laws against SIM locking.

I second the OP here. It's true but you can only ask your cell phone provider to unlock a phone you bought from them (and not from a friend or fleebay), you have an active contract in good standing, you are atleast 2-3 months into the contract and so on. Basically if they sold u a locked phone, you can demand an unlock.
It sucks to run the whole nine yards, and then pay the same amount of money for the security unlocker. I really wish Olipro could have a security unlock only service.
If you get your carrier to unlock your phone is that when you can flash a Radio from a different device?

Nope...subsidy unlocking is NOT the same as security unlocking.
actually US carriers are required to give you the subsidary unlock code for your device (excluding iPhone and cdma/gsm hybrids although technically, not offerring it for the iPhone is illegal) but only if you are going out of the country and don't to want to use their service or pay their fees since it does not directly interfere with their service.
ATT will give you the code in a couple days if you lie and say your going away for a week or two.
Also that wikipedia article is wrong because phones in Belguim cannot be opertor locked either. Caused a fiasco with the iPhone.
leaving the country

Hi,
Is there any solution to unlock my T-mobile HTc HD7 for free ? There are indeed a lot of websites to provide this solution, but not for free unfortunately.
Many thanks in advance!

I'd like to know as well...I've mostly used CDMA devices so they were always kind of locked I guess...
if you got it subsidized through tmous, they make you wait 60days usually for a free unlock code. Why shouldn't they? If you bought the device subsidized, they have a right to make that money back.
If you bought it outright, they should just give it to you.
I'm talking about buying it outright...
Has anyone come up with a solution to this yet? I am interested in going out of the country in the next month and would like to slip in another sim card while I am out. Thanks! 8)
Riiight.
You just forked out for a really expensive piece of kit. Is it really going to break the bank to pay 19 euros to unlock it?
If you're going to buy the HD7 from T-Mobile at full price you can ask T-Mobile for the unlock code. You just have to fax them the receipt.
Hey guys i'm from Malaysia n i just purchased a HTC HD 7.Wanted to know if the unlock option is available here for free..Thanks
Why would everyone talk about imei unlock sites and 19 bucks, when there is a for-free method? try a search..

I just got mine a few days ago and requested a code using a friends prepaid account. I did that so that they would process it as if I bought it flat out and process it for me. Expecting results tomorrow and will keep posted
Edit: code came in this morning. Whole process took less than 24 hours. Now using my hd7 on att's network.
Also needing an unlock method that is free or very cheap and doesn't require me to ask Tmobile for it.
Thanks.
I am not aware of any sites that work to SIM unlok your phone. What I can contribute is that if you SIM unlock your HD7 through T-Mobile, you will need to have another provider's SIM to complete the process.
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
just flash a rom
Sent from my 7 Trophy using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
That will not SIM unlock the phone.

No, you can't get a code for free if you're not a T-mobile customer. Get a code on ebay, they only cost 6-10 dollars..

Seems like good advice, re. using codes to unlock but then....
Use what is probably the world's most expensive unlocking site?
Your own network operator would be miles cheaper than say $63.36 !!

Hey, everyone!
I was perusing the forums for sim unlocking an HTC 7 pro. Many years have passed since I adquired my 8125, and it is still serving me faithfully. Yes, it is still working
Back then we just had to flash the roms, I think the radio part did the trick, and then phone was thus unlocked.
But the couple of hours I spent today looking for some insight only led me to 3rd party sites which charge money for sim unlocks. Those require the carrier to be mentioned in order for them to provide an unlocking code. So I can't just buy a phone off ebay and expect to get a code from those sites. US cellular, for instance, is never listed on them. Besides, $25 is not bucks where I live >.>
Is that really how SIM unlockings are handled here now, or have I just been really unlucky with my skimmings and searches?
TYVM, have a great day!
I believe there is no free option in order to get the HTC 7 Pro unlocked, unless you can get the seller to call their cell phone provider to get the code. Most, if not all, windows phones don't have a free option to unlock but I could be wrong on that. But if you already have a HTC 7 Pro I think you're gonna have to cough up some cash and use some unlocking websites...
Well, thanks for the straight answer.
Oh, no, I don't have one, yet. I was thinking of Buying one off Ebay, used and locked. It is harsh having to pay for switching carriers, but maybe that is what they had intended with their locking in the first place
Hmmm. Do you know, by chance, if this is the norm for smartphones recently, not being able to sim unlock them at home? Or is this device special for that matter? or was it not popular enough to tinker with it?
TY, again. Peace
I wouldn't say your device special in regards to that, all phones come SIM locked. Its just some android phones are easier to unlock during the process of rooting phones. I know for my old HTC touch running windows, it was easy to unlock since you basically had to move a couple files. I think windows 7 in general makes it harder in general to unlock as opposed to android.
hi, i have Huawi U8150 and it's network locked i can't run all the SIM card.. it can be unlock..?
