I'm considering the TB but I need some sound advice. I have an AMOLED Dinc purchased on release day last year. It is rooted and I have enjoyed the various roms. I live in an area where LTE is live. I am not due for an upgrade until Nov at the soonest so I would have to buy the TB unsubsidized and sell my Dinc to offset some of the cost. Do you think this is worth it? Thanks.
Word is after tomorrow you will not be able to get in on the unlimited 4g...not sure if it's true or not........just a thought

They are not ending the unlimited now. Someone just started an unconfirmed statement. Officially verizon hast stated they are looking to get tierd pricing around early to mid summer..
Anyone have tips on how to get Verizon to upgrade me early? My upgrade isn't due until 7/30/2012 and I'm kinda wanting this phone tomorrow when it drops. I've contacted them last week and they said to call back tomorrow on the phones actual release date and they'd let me know if I could upgrade early or not. Anyone have any stories they'd like to share on if they've successfully managed to get Verizon to give an early uprade?
Spoke to a rep over chat today, and oddly enough she told me the AT&T release date of the device. She stated, FWIW, that the S4 will be released by AT&T on the 27th. I asked if pre-orders would be received by then, and she stated that they will ship on the 27th and received by the 29th.
Now, a couple of things don't make sense. AT&T doesn't release devices on Saturdays, warehouses don't usually ship things on Saturdays, and things shipped on Saturday usually don't arrive on the following Monday .
So, take it with a grain of salt, but i figure we can start an AT&T thread as April 16th is right around the corner!

Those reps never know anything, I had the same problem with the SIII launch. I expect to get it that same week around Friday (19th) or no later than next Friday (26th).
Anyone know if ATT will sell me the phone outright if I am not an ATT customer?

The question is, will they unlock it for you even if you pay full price? Otherwise, either you will have to become their customer or you will need to find another method to unlock it.

If.you buy retail price they have to give you the unlock code if asked for. Otherwise if your on 2 year contract you have to wait 90 days before you can receive the code. Past experience when unlocking previous phones.

Unfortunately, this is not true in all cases. When the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (AT&T) was released, many people had trouble getting an unlock code from AT&T even after paying full price for the phone because AT&T claimed it was a exclusive and they didn't have to give unlock codes until after 6 months. There is plenty to read about this in the Skyrocket forum if you want to. Of course, not everyone had trouble getting the code from AT&T, some just had to ask, others had to escalate the issue, and still others never did get a code. But it isn't a given that a carrier (AT&T anyway) will provide a code just because full price is given. They could very well claim the I337 AT&T version is an exclusive and deny unlock codes. As I mentioned, it has happened before. When you factor in the new rules regarding carriers not having to unlock phones, it is very possible AT&T will do everything possible to not unlock phones, even from full purchases. Of course, I hope there won't be a problem and they will unlock phones that are fully purchased, but there certainly is no guarantee that they will do it at all or in every situation.
i wouldn't believe those reps. when the S3 launched, NONE of them had a clue when the launch date was before hand. anyway, i wouldn't expect a solid release date to be announced until after the HTC One goes on sale. why would a company announce a date for a second product before the first has launched? it's pretty obvious it's because of the HTC One. it's because of this that i think Verizon will announce the date of theirs landing first (they didn't snag the HTC One).... prob announce it next week, too.
We've been seeing every other carrier accepting pre-orders with no mention of Verizon's schedule..but today I received an e-mail stating April 1st will begin pre-orders and they'll ship on the 11th, which is the supposed day of release. I'm wondering if it's worth it to just walk into a store to get it release day, or pre-order it to get it a few days after? Not sure..but I'm selling my GS4 so I can pickup an S5!

Oh My God! I was literally about to switch carriers if I didn't find some hope of a release for the s5 on Verizon in the next two weeks. Then my friend sent me this link. got my GS5 case today..went with a spigen shell that's sort of like my incipio feather for my G2. nice case, very light. seems as if the S5 is slightly taller than the G2.
FWIW, I'm talking to a rep on the website chat, and they're saying the email information was incorrect and pre-orders begin April 5th. take that with a grain of salt..
she also explained that if you have a pre-order, you'll get it on release date...it won't be shipped on the 11th; rather, it'll be at your door on the 11th. i hope that's true!
I went into the store and they said without a doubt that the 3rd would be preorder time... I think all Verizon reps just talk out of their asses at this point. I also asked about Kitkat on the S4 and Note 3 and all they could say was every single other carrier is having major bugs and thats why it'll be a while before we see it on VZW

Hoping we VZW customers don't have to wait until December for this gem although with it being VZW, I wouldn't be surprised. VZW is great for area coverage with 4G and cell service for me, but release dates and Android OS updates fall WAY off the mark for a tech nerd like me.
True, Verizon is the last to receive their handsets. Sad really. Maybe they invested to much into the droid line???

After more than an hour on the phone last Friday, I found out Verizon has a showcase date listed for the 28th, but no release date set. The rep I spoke with said phones typically go on sale 1 or 2 weeks after that, so we are looking at the middle of December at best.

I am a newbie to the forum, and like you all I have been anxiously waiting for the Edge to be released, I had the nerve to put all my phone techies/fanatics onto the Edge craze & How about all of them have them(b/c of the various different carriers they are with) now except me:crying:
I was at the mall today & stopped in the Verizon store just to see if I could find out if any of the sales reps knew anything, This one guy told me that "Verizon will not be getting the Edge, If they didn't get it on the release date then they will not be selling it", So I proceed to ask him, ..."Then why would Verizon have a sign-up page for more info on the Edge?".....He had no answer....Which leads me to believe that he really doesn't know the REAL answer.
I thought about calling & maybe telling them I was considering going to another carrier because I really want the Edge, But who knows what their response would be
does anyone know anything? Very weird how there is no information about this...
I'm waiting as well. Rumor from two different locations Best Buy store's SAMSUNG reps say "end of December" & "before the year is up" Hope it is true, but take that with a grain of salt............... cause I'm doubtful, but who knows?...........

Unfortunately some of us don't have much of a choice. Verizon is hands down the only carrier with consistent service around here, especially with 4G. Everything else is spotty around the larger cities, but not worth the reduced charged for reduced service.
I went to my Vzw store on Sunday, they still don't have any word on a date. I ship my Note 3 out tomorrow, and am going to be using a broken SIII until it is released. FML. :silly:

It passed FCC in early. november. I wouldn't be surprised.... Good ol' Verizon. Imagine Samsung is probably stuck with a warehouse full of Verizon Edges waiting to be recycled.....

I can now say with certainty that it will be launching at Verizon on the 8th. I'm not sure if they do a Verizon Dev Edition. I've been an HTC guy up till now some I'm not familiar with what they've done in the past.
