Hi guys,
I have an issue.
I took a sphere today on my nexus5 running gcamera on the lollipop preview.
It took all the segments just fine and started processing it, notification icon appeared with progress bar in notification tray.
At which point locked it and put it in my pocket
Later I looked at my phone to share it but its not there. Its not in the photos app on the phone or desktop.
Any suggestions? Could it be cached somewhere and have failed to process?
The location is almost an hour away plus a 20min walk in near perfect weather conditions.
I have not tried another yet, main objective is to find out if its cached somewhere and is recoverable. If that defo is not the case then I will try to repeat the fault by taking another.
thanks!
You can only see it from the camera app, not the gallery. Open the camera and swipe to its built in gallery.
If not there, then no idea.
Edit. Looks like I'm wrong. On L, looks like normal called can see fine. Guess its lost.
you wont see it in the gallery app(not as a photosphere), you will see it in the photos app though.
It's nowhere, not in photos app either
Same problem here!
I'm having the same problem on my Nexus 5 with official Android 5.0 build. No root. No nothing. All stock. I can take photospheres all day and, just like the OP, they disappear once finished rendering. I found the individual photos and panorama version of the spheres in buried in the phone's camera app cache. Unfortunately that doesn't help the situation. Has anyone found a solution?
edit: Panorama mode has the same results. It appears to take the photo without issue. Once it finishing rendering, it is nowhere to be found.
2016 and nouget still have same issue with nexus5x ! Photosphere gone after rendering

My camera app isn't working anymore. When I click the icon to launch, it shows the big camera watermark then quickly goes back to the home screen.
I think I might've deleted something via TitaniumBackup but I'm not exactly sure if the camera app runs off prerequisites that you can actually manage through TB. If it makes any difference, the camera app shows up as 'nothing' according to TB's legend and I'm not sure if that means anything. I'm on 2.2 Froyo and it'd be great if anyone here could clarify and help me out here.
Here's some extra details if it helps at all:
Rooted
Have all the apps I've forced removed backed up, just in case.
EDIT: Fixed. All I needed was a reboot.
Hey all, sorry that I'm barging in on you like this, but I'm quite at a loss here. Thought it would be cool to get ICS on my Desire S -- and it sort of is. It's just not what I expected it to be, hehe.
First of all, to the creator, ronks888, thanks so much. Really enjoying it, apart from a few minor issues . First of all, the camera crashes after one or two photos. Default camera app, Camera ZOOM FX - the camera gets stuck and no way to solve it apart from rebooting the entire phone. Secondly, is there a way to arrange apps alphabetically in the menu? The default apps are all great, but for every new one I download, it gets added to the end of the list :/.
Also, I'm currently on CoolDroid 7.1. Can I simply update to 8.0, or do I have to completely wipe my phone again?
Thanks, and again, sorry. Hope you all have a great day.

I use auto upload when WiFi+charging, great for our phones with limited storage, So I rely a lot on Google+ auto backup photos. I delete pictures from my local album to free space, but...
When I am browsing my photos through Google+, I CANNOT swipe left or right to go previous/next picture. If I do that, when I leave the app, my phone gets extreme lag, especially in home screen and notification drawer. I even thought this was some CleanRom related bug, but I'm using stock rooted and the problem is still there. I also thought this could be a Sense Launcher bug, but even with Nova launcher it happens.
Anyone else having this issue? I bet there a lot of people experiencing this.. It took me a while to figure out what was causing it, but it's very simple: Just open a photo on Google+ and swipe left or right to go the next/previous pic. Your phone should lag like crazy until you reboot it.

I get the lag too. I usually get it after closing YouTube, I also did the photo swiping you mentioned and was affected as well. Are you using the elementalx or bulletproof kernels?
Using stock rooted rom and kernel. I used to get similar slowdowns on ElementalX kernel, but I could never find the source. In this case I was able to nail it down, and I haven't experienced lag from other apps.

Honestly unless your a huge fan of Google plus I would recommend using drop box (which has the same feature) .
(Especially since it seems like Google plus failed to take off)
+ drop has integration to backup stuff from quite a few apps (fuelio & tibu for example)

I have used dropbox and box extensively before trying Google+ photos. What makes Google+ more attractive to me is that uploads at standard(but still high) resolution are unlimited. It also uploads my videos in HD, also unlimited.
It's not all about storage(I have a 50gb box account). When I actually want to view or download my photos , Google+ is much, much MUCH faster to load. Dropbox and Box are super slow to load, and they also don't sort my pictures by date. Google+ even highlights what it thinks are the best pictures from any given day, enhances them to make them look better and it even creates animations out of my burst shots.
For photo storage, Google+ is so much better, there's just no contest.
Here it is! The first part of the Nemesis project, Focal, is already here!
This is just a build I made downloading the source from github.
I will try to update it as new versions progressively come.
This isn't my work, say thanks to the CyanogenMod Team instead!!
Sorry for the Google Drive download link, but I apparently can't upload this file as attachment...
UPDATE: It seems to better work on Nexus devices and on AOSP based ROMs. Stock ROMs like Sense, TouchWiz etc. will probably experience problems with this camera.

thanks for compiling!
i have currently a nexus 4 running stock 4.3 unrooted with stock kernel.
this is the first time i tried focal, and here are my impressions:
the preview lags. constantly. no matter what conditions, dark or sunny.
i dont like the interface, even though it has nice ideas, its just too much. im not a big photographer, so for me these features are not that important to me, i much more prefer simplicity, and this is just overwhelming.
i dont really get how the view of the previously taken photos should work, how i can navigate through them and how it can be deleted.
they took a lot of good ideas from the official camera app, but implemented it in the wrong way.
as for picsphere: i dont like that there is no preview, i only see the frame when i already took it. and that i have to manually press the shutter button to take the frame, and its not automatic. they should at least give an option for that.
picsphere rendering is very slow, much faster on stock.
plus it saves all frames of a picsphere as separate photos too, whats that all about?
and wheres hdr mode?
and why is it locked in landscape mode?
so to sum up: i like the idea of having cyanogenmod-developed apps instead of stock, but it still has a loooong way to go to become a considerable option to replace the stock camera app.

Most features work on my sensation.
You can change which of the editing settings you want to appear using the slide-up settings.
Picsphere has previews for me. But I agree the rendering needs work.
HDR works
You can swipe from the left/top to get to gallery and see/edit/delete pictures.
It's not locked in landscape for me either.
I used the zip from the other thread though

What commands did you use to compile it?
Google Camera App - Released to the Public on April 16th.
I tested it with CM11 on Note 2 and works like the champ with only a issues.
Have you faced any issues with this camera yet?

Actually I completely agree with you. It is fairly childish but honestly Note 2 on CM11 this app works better than the currently alternative. Hence my excitement
Missing options
i do have an issue, there's no panorama, and no photo sphere, even tho i have this options on my cm11 camera
Apparently Google is leaning towards "dumbing things down" by removing the more complex capabilities in some of their native apps by making them so simplistic as to literally become "point and shoot," especially with respect to this particular camera app. But when you think about it, the overwhelming majority of smartphone owners want just that: a device that works, that's simple to use, and doesn't require a huge set of menu options to just "point and shoot" and get good/useful results so, I suppose it's a winner in that manner for sure.
Tried it a few times, doesn't seem particularly special or useful over some other camera apps like Focal or others. Doesn't seem to do HDR natively and there's no option to enable it so that relegates this app to "ok, I tried it and then I uninstalled it" status for me.
For me its not better than LG G2 modded cam app.
The issue with me is that the CM11 Camera app gets stuck too often hence this is a great alternative
It is good, the only problem for me is when the flash is on and I tap to focus and than to take a picture theres a lag of about 5 seconds. Anyone have this problem? Also no HDR mod, and my camera have that option.
I'm having FC on settings option, on carbon kitkat in Samsung i9070.
love the lens blur mode. Any more cam apps that have this option?
I like it.
Yes the settings option does FC the app but honestly at this current moment, its better than the default camera app.
actually, the only setting i would change is 16:9 ratio, nothing else.
if some1 knows a shortcut for this...?
Good to know, may need to try this out, with custom roms i found a few the camera app always frooze or crashed

I've tried to change the settings thru the preferences files saved in \\data\data\com.googleCamera\shared_prefs\, but I couldn't change the resolution to the max, only the grid, flash, etc.
I want to change the "photosphere" and the "lens blur" to max resolution.
Any Idea?
let me try
Going to download it now and give a try in my grand i9082
I'll be trying it out on my Galaxy S2 with PACROM 4.4.2
Someone minds uploading it somewhere and sharing the link, I can find it on play store but it says its not available in my country I find that weird as its just a camara application...
Thanks in advance...
