I have recently been sent the update to android 4.4.2 on my note pro however my WiFi will not connect now.
I've tried restarting the device and it keeps saying "network connection unavailable".
has anybody else had a similar experience with this device?

Use search, here are couple topics about broken wifi after update. Factory reset should fix it.

Hi!
Have you got Passpoint running?
This might be a totally different issue but if a factory reset or reflashing doesn´t help you might try looking here.

I have the same effect!
A full reset won't fix this problem. I contacted Samsung support and the said that I should send them the tablet.
A reset usually isn't sufficient, you need to reflash the firmware.
I fully reset the tablet about 4 times and it suddenly works.
Hi all!
I have exactly the same issue.... I just updated my Note Pro LTE (unrooted) to the latest firmware and I also do not have access to wifi.
Could you please help me? I read in this thread that by reflashing might solve the issue, but since I am not so experienced with that stuff on Android (hence the reason I never rooted), could you please provide detail instructions what exactly I have to do?
Thanks a lot for your great help!

I eventually made a factory reset and after everything was finalized, wifi was running again fine. All my apps from play store were installed again automatically and everything seemed to run properly!
However, when I woke up this morning, unfortunately the same issue was present. No network connectivity and all available wifi networks were marked 'not in range'!!
Thus, it seems that factory reset does not solve the problem... Therefore I searched on google how to reflash my tablet. This is the link that I found:
http://androidcentral.us/2014/02/how-to-flash-firmware-using-odin-samsung-devices/
Could you please confirm whether this is the procedure I should follow? If yes, which update should I use? The latest or the previous one, i.e. P905XXUANH3 or P905XXUANC3?
Also, will Knox be tripped if I flash the firmware?
Thanks a lot for your help and I look forward to your responses!

Yes.
I usually direct people here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/guide-odin-flash-guide-t1671969 (It's for the S3, but the procedure is the same everywhere. Make sure you get the most recent version of ODIN. The three buttons have different names (Bootloader/PDA/Phone/CSC are now BL/AP/CP/CSC), but the order is the same.)

If you use the official firmware for a country in your region, No.
Thanks a lot ShadowLea!!
Eventually there is no need to reflash the tablet....
The only thing I just did was to uncheck the Passpoint option, as Polar67 describes above, in the Advanced Settings of wifi and immediately the issue was fixed!
Thank you all for your great help!!

Hi everybody,
I have upgraded my Samsung Galaxy tab 2.7 to Android 4.0.4, but I can't connect to my home network anymore.
My tablet isn't rooted or anything.
Can I root it to fix the problem en where can I get those links?
Thanks.
Johanna
Not sure if rooting your device will fix the issue but this link will show you how to root.

I read those instr5uctions, but what does step 8 mean?
8. Connect your Tab
Connect to what?
Sorry for the stupid question.
Johanna
Plug the usb/charger cable into your pc that is running kies
You may want to listen to Sean's advice..(will rooting fix your problem?)
What else to connect again?
If rooting doesnt fix the connection problems what can I do then? Wait for a fix by Samsung?
Seems ridiculous.
Johanna
Rooting your tab & installing CWM would allow you to install a custom ROM
That is those actions alone would probably not fix your WIFI issues but installing a new ROM on your tab might.
I would suggest 1st trying to do a factory data reset. (found in settings backup and reset)
If that does not work you could then contact Samsung support online. You can find that option from going to the support section on the Samsung home page and following the instructions.

Ok thanks! I will try that.
But if I decide to root, do I have to install a new ROM on my tab then afterwards? And which one?

Sometimes if you reboot your wifi router helps too. This is not the most reliable device when it comes to wifi.

I did that already and that didn't help.
My Samsung Galaxy S2 also didn't see the network anymore. I created a guest account on the router and then my Samsung Galaxy S2 did recognise that guest account.
But my Tab 2.7 still sees nothing. It shows networks from people in my neighbourhood though.
So I guess you are right, it could have something to do with my router.
But I have no clue how to solve that.
I will try and get some help from Dlink.
Johanna
Turn off the wifi on the tab and turn it back on. I have the p3100 and it is quite bit of a pain when it come to switch from wifi-3g-wifi.
Not successfull

Tried that, but that didin't help.
I contacted the Dlink customer service and they couldn't figure out what is wrong. The router is working, so it is a problem between the update from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 on my tablet and the router. The customer service is trying to find out what the solution could be and they are getting back to me.
I will let you know.
Johanna
Solved!
Ok it is solved!
The Dlink customerservice contacted Samsung in Taiwan and it was an issue with the preshared key in the router.
So I changed that key and changed the mode to WPA only and now my tablet sees the network again and I can connect.
Yesss!

Ok, are you on stock FW? If not, which one do you have?
Is your N8000 rooted?
If so, try to flash another modem.

I did a factory reset from setting again and also manually did a hard reset from recovery mode but the bluetooth still doesn't want to come on.
I went to SETTING, ABOUT and STATUS and I saw an available mac address for wi-fi but the bluetooth mac address was Unavailable.

I just flashed those 4 leaked Odin firmware files in latest Odin and everything is working perfectly since then. Bootloader is included in those 4 files, of course.
i had the same issue, just flash the bootloader again in custom recovery
edit: or try this:go to dialpad and call *#0011#; than tap menu, hit wifi and turn "wifi power save mode" off

I installed the deodoxed rooted frimware from cypher*(I am not sure about the name)
So do you think that I have to install the original one and wipe my data and everything again -_-
My Internet connection is very slow and barely installed this frimware I am using now
So if you have an easier workaround to fix this problem please share it with me
Thanks in advance ^_^
EDIT: I have also tried the wifi power saving thing but nothing happened

Hi guys,
I have this problem.
In the last few weeks my 10.1 doesn't save the WiFi passwords.
Every time I turn off the device, I need to insert again the password of all the WIFI connections.
how can I fix that problem?
Thanks
So I updated to Nougat on my Z5 32GB (6553) which is on EE in the UK.
I am finding the phone drops wifi connection (randomly almost) and will not re-connect unless I completely re-boot the phone.
Along with this, I'm finding that my network connectivity is just awful - but this may just be in my head because the wifi keeps dropping/cutting out.
I've gone through my router settings at home, nothing is different, and I don't have wifi sleep turned on.
I reset my network settings 2 weeks ago, hoping that would solve it, and then factory reset my phone this past weekend hoping that would solve it.
unfortunately I cannot unlock my bootloader, so I can't even root it and run logs.
Any suggestions?

I'm asking the question to see if it is a common firmware problem - I highly doubt it is, as I'd imagine there would be a whole load of topics about it, and I can't find anything.

Hey, XDA-ers!
I got the Android Nougat 7.0 update for my Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930FD (DUOS) back in January if I remember correctly. And the update process went like how it normally does. But ever since I got the Nougat update, my phone restarts randomly for no reason. At first it used to restart when I click on the 'Recent Apps' button to switch between apps. When I tap on the button, the phone vibrates and restarts. The phone never over heated before this happens. During this, the phone used to restart 2-3 times a day. This went on for 2 months. Then now, the number of restarts reduced to 1-2 per day, but the problem still persists. And now, it restarts even when I don't touch the 'Recent Apps' button. So, if any of you has had a similar experience or if any of you could help me out Please share it here. It would be GREAT!
Also just one more thing- Any of you seen any DRASTIC or worse changes in battery life of your Galaxy S7 after the Android Nougat 7.0 update? Please share your thoughts here and do suggest how you solved the problem. (My battery drains so fast that I sometimes charge it twice a day. I don't even use my phone for half of the day because I'll be at school and still the battery drain is bad! )
Factory reset. Backup your data via kies and then reset it.
Change your battery
What firmware version are you running? There's at least one version of Nougat that has issues with this

Possibly. I can vouch for it being fixed on DQCF onwards, which is newer than DQC4. The temporary fix seems to be to use as little RAM as possible(try to cut down on background apps until the next update). That firmware isn't terribly old though. I would actually agree with trying a reflash first.

I think it is also possible to reinstall the same firmware with Smart Switch from the menu "Emergency Software Recovery and Initialisation". It's like Odin but much simpler especially for beginners. As for me, I am still in DQBO and I await the update DQD7 which is beginning to be deployed in some countries. If this is not going to solve the problem, I will try to reinstall the fimware with Smart Switch. What do you think ?

If it's restarting due to the firmware bug then DQD7 will most definitely fix it. Beware of the emergency recovery though. Ive not used Smart Switch but the "initialization" part sounds like it would wipe the device, though that could fix any issues. Backup first, if you can.
