[Q] Very poor bluetooth media audio - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys!
I am really disappointed with the bluetooth media audio quality of the note pro. High frequencies are reproduced very weekly. I have a Sony MW600 bluetooth headset with Klipsch in-ear headphones, that sounds very well with my other devices, such Nexus 5 and Nexus one.
I noticed that is a common problem with Android 4+, but the solutions I've found require root access.
The problem seems to be the low sampling frequency.
Do you know a way to set the value to a higher one, or some other fix?
Thanks a lot!

I suggest installing Viper4Android FX, form here you can take full control and make it your by output type.

I'm using it with a JBL Charge 2 and N7Player with personal equalizer settings. It sounds just fine...

Bluetooth audio streaming quality poor?

So i noticed a severe decline in the music quality after i switched from my Z3 compact. Using Poweramp with all the EQ's disabled/flat (and all the samsung eq's off), i get constant minor treble crackling. Full volume and even half volume on the phone. It's really annoying. I have certain songs on my computer and Z3 that i've played so much that i know exactly how they should sound, and the S7 just makes it sound like ****. Has anybody else had this issue?
Do you have any other bluetooth devices connected to your S7, such as a Fitbit or Android Wear watch?
I'm using BT streaming to both my Sennheiser headphones and to my car, and have not noticed any worse sound quality compared to my previous S5.

Yeah it does. What a shame!

I suffer with the same issue on my S6 and was hoping they'd fix it on the S7 but guess they don't care.
Thread about it for the S6: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/poor-bluetooth-audio-quality-t3093236
TL;DR, If you disconnect the Pebble your bluetooth audio quality should be good.

Expected. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63745683&postcount=22
Unfortunately, my car (100% of my use for bluetooth audio) does not use aptX so it sounds awful unless I disconnect my watch.

I also use two headphones that do not have aptX, but they sound perfect too.
after tuning off the bluetooth to my pebble and rebooting the phone, the sound came out fine through my ford sync stereo. i might as well use an aux cable to remedy this $700 phone's issue.
FWIW, there are two less intense ways to "refresh" the bluetooth audio connection:
1) Toggle the phone's bluetooth off and on.
2) (New to Marshmallow touchwiz) Bring down the notifications and you'll see "Audio path" on the right. Switch it and switch it back to the bluetooth output.
Thanks for the info everyone. I just upgraded from the s5 to the s7 and noticed a significant degrade in blue tooth audio streaming with my Ford sync system. Really upset me so a little Google search and discover.my moto 360 watch is the culprit. After I disconnect it my sound quality goes back to normal. Certainly a pain but at least it's resolved.

I have 2016 Lexus ES350 and I have recently started using Garmin Vivoactive HR+ fitness tracker that is connected via Bluetooth to my Samsung Galaxy S7. The bluetooth streaming quality dropped significantly. All music sounds flat even when the music player (Amazon Music) is set to highest quality. In rock music I barely hear hihats. High frequencies are distorted.
Are we supposed to go back to the auxiliary audio input jack again? What's up with this?
Thats because sony always use high quailty DAC's and sammy doesn't. same reason why sammy cant play high res audio.

I'm using S7 edge with viper4android and connect to my car bose system the sound looks amazing. ALso I use it with a audio-technica mx-50 and portable amplifier. with bluetooth I don't notice any issue, because mainly I connect to amplified sources. <With direct connection to the mx50 headphones definitly could be better, but I wouldn't say is really bad. I use flac and sometimes spotify in extreme quality.
..
Hi the same here, i had a HTC onex/onex+ and the last a LG G3 , the audio was fine when streaming mp3's from my phone, now with my brand new Galaxy S7,
there's so much distorsion that it's not earable, my car is Lexus CT200h(no navigation screen panasonic audio) , worse with waze or google maps i cant anymore ear vocal instructions for navigation except when streaming audio or during a phone call , not anymore when listening a cd in the carplayer as it used to be with all previous 3 phones
ps: i think there should be a "bluetooth" section in the real life thread , i dont know who is in charge of that sections,
i will put 1 star to bluetooth and audio listening and 1 star for audio when recording videos in Gigs i wouldnt buy the S7 if i knew that before

Having issues with audio levels with headphones.

I just recently ordered the 1more triple driver earbuds. They sound great. But I have to have the volume maxed out to get a decent level. I'm mostly using Google Music to listen to music. I was having similar issues even using a pair of cheap JVC earbuds. But with the 1more it's even worse. I'm wondering if it's the amp limitations or a faulty device. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
I have a pair of AKG Y20Us and sometimes I have to max them out to get a comfortable level, and sometimes max volume is way too loud for me, I'm not sure what the deal is.

Very bad sound quality via earphones

Hi, I using Mix 2s and the quality of sound on earphones is quite a disaster.
Sound is very grainy and there is a lot of static noise in some songs. I am using Spotify Premium with very high-quality settings and the sound on wireless and wired earphones is the same - means very bad. So, it’s not just bad piece of set.
I was blaming the audio codec on Bluetooth as my BT earphones should be able to use ACC codec, but there is just SBC available in developer option. I heard the BT codec issue in last Global MIUI I am using global 10.2.2) not allowing to use any codec outside SBC, but the sound is the same on wired earphones.
Does anyone experience the same issue with sound quality?

Thank you, and are you able to connect to BT headseat with any other codec then SBC? I am able to change that in developer option but it always go back to default after leaving menu.

Have tried Mix2s with 3 different phones at home on BT and headset. Samsung A8, Honor 8 Pro and iPhone 6s and most ****ty sound by class is from Xiaomi, which makes me very sad as this is my daily driver... will try MIUI EU if this makes any difference or sell my Xiaomi device.
I come from a redmi note 4X and dont notice any problems with it. I have a brainwavz BLU200, which supports aptx.
Maybe the phone is recognizing the headphones as a headset (for calls which utterly kills the sound quality).

Thank you, but this is not the case. The sound is bad also on wired headphones. Sound is flat, lot of static noise, missing any stage. By class worst sound from 4 phones I can find at home. I will try different USB C to 3.5 mm adapter if helps.
Ouch, I have not tried the usb adapter with my wired headphones. I'm scared to try now (ignorance is bliss?).

My LDAC headphones work well. I am afraid there's something wrong with your device and I'd recommend to have it repaired.
Just tested the wired audio with my Brainwavz HM5 and i found it awesome. Also i have searched a bit on the net and seems that the mi mix 2s outputs analog over the USB-C adapter. The sounds come from the DAC on the SoC (SD845) which seems to be a quite nice DAC (https://semiaccurate.com/2017/12/19/qualcomm-ups-audio-ante-snapdragon-845/) to be a cellphone.
Try wiping and flashing a stock rom. If that dont fix it, I suspect that your case is a hardware problem.
And last but not less important, i'm not an audiophile so maybe what i hear good is subpar to you, but if the sound would be as bad, way more people would have complained by now.
Thank you. I have tried different USB-C to 3,5mm adapter then standard Xiaomi one and grain is about 50% less so positive news here, but sound is still flat and dont have any sound stage. May be I am to picky and got luck with my previous phones. I have ordered external DAC adapter to solve this problem as on the other hand this is only problem I have with the phone.
I one of my friends found the core of the problem. He sad to have iPhone 7 that sounds ****ty as well. He had found out after about year of searching and two sets of headphones that somewhere in some different settings was set MONO sound only. My problem was same and very stupid! For my IQ deffence I don't know why this settings is not located in sound section. So problem solved and thank everybody for help! For anyone having this issue you can deactivate Mono sound in Settings -> Additional Settings -> Accessibility -> Turn off "Mono Audio"

Bluetooth connection weak

Hello i have very bad connection with earphones QCY T1C signal is skipping, sometimes playing mono, quality is changing i little bit. And sometimes it is very good. I had same earphones connected with Nokia 7 Plus and absolutely no problem in the same areas. Phone is in the front pocket and earphones in ears of course so no big distance. That's all. Maybe i must wait for the update from Motorola. Or can i do something myself? Thanks
I haven't encountered any issues with Bluetooth yet.
Been using sony speakers and headphones, + a bunch of other bt headphones. Most of them with ldac support.
Only time it's been skipping is when using ldac codec with highest bitrate transfer (990kbps) and some distance, but that's expected.

Bluetooth Volume?

Hi All,
I have recently come back to the OP7P after using an XS Max. I have been using Airpods 2 with the iPhone and the volume on Bluetooth was superb. Most the time I listened with it a few steps from maximum.
Now with the Oneplus I'm currently using the Cambridge Audio Manomania as they had really good reviews but the volume is no where near. I've tried changing the absolute volume setting, flashed the booster in magisk and tried using AVCRP 1.6 but it's still really low.
Does anyone know any Bluetooth buds or USB c headphones that will at least deliver similar volume to the Airpods?
I recently purchased these Treblab earbuds and I am happy with them. They don't sound as deep as my Phaiser headphones but when the volume is raised on the Treblabs it's pretty crisp sounding and volume is pretty high. I want to add that I have never used the apple airpods though. I just downloaded one of the viper audio mods and I'm going to see how that interacts with the Treblabs.
Over all I'm loving them though..pretty loud and my work environment is noisy

I've Xs Max too & I'm using First Gen Airpods with 7 Pro & They get pretty loud , equivalent to iPhone. Only Thing I noticed is that maybe battery drains faster. I'm not rooted, everything is stock
Maybe I'll have to try airpods again just wasn't sure how well they would work.
Was thinking of powerbeats Pro as well but no way of testing them before hand
I got Amiron Wireless of Beyerdynamic and I am fine with them.
