Having issues with audio levels with headphones. - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

I just recently ordered the 1more triple driver earbuds. They sound great. But I have to have the volume maxed out to get a decent level. I'm mostly using Google Music to listen to music. I was having similar issues even using a pair of cheap JVC earbuds. But with the 1more it's even worse. I'm wondering if it's the amp limitations or a faulty device. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I have a pair of AKG Y20Us and sometimes I have to max them out to get a comfortable level, and sometimes max volume is way too loud for me, I'm not sure what the deal is.

Bluetooth headsets

Ive done a bit of searching here and havent found any posts with the information I'm looking for, they only had suggestions such as "i use these they sound good", not facts.
I'm looking for some bluetooth headphone suggestions along with the input sensitivity and bluetooth version as well as your opinions on satisfaction but mainly something that includes the input sensitivity of the different bluetooth headsets out there that people are using.
I am looking to move to a stereo bluetooth headset from my current bose in-ear headset and looking for something that will be the least disappointing in the move.
I use the Motorla S305 headphones. They are compatible fully with the music player (next, prev, stop, play, and etc) and all the phone options (dial, hang up, mute, and etc). The sound quality is great. They are pretty light weight and don't put too much pressure on your ears. I had them on for 4 hours straight with no issues.
I got a pair on amazon for $33.
I'm not sure what you mean by "input sensitivity." Are you talking about button pushing and what not? I haven't had any input or any mechanical complaints yet..
I just got the Sony Ericsson MW600 and it works really well. The nice thing about it is that I can use any wired earphones with it. It also includes an FM radio tuner.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
I've been using the Plantronics 903 BackBeat for about a week now and they're awesome.
I also have the Bose in-ear headphones and was pleased to find that the earpieces on the BackBeat are the same exact style as the Bose (but they're not interchangeable).
The BackBeat is nice and loud, and all the buttons work, as well. One thing that I really like is that you can press the main button on the right earpiece to pause your music and use the built-in microphone to pipe in sound from around you. This way, you don't have to remove the headset to hear things around you. I wear them in an office setting so this feature is really important and works awesome.
As you already know from the Bose, these eargels do a killer job of keeping your music in and other sounds out - I can listen to my music at whatever volume without disturbing others nearby, even in the elevator.
Battery life is decent - I make it through a full workday with no issues, and they charge via microUSB (not proprietary) so I can easily charge them off my laptop if necessary.
Not sure what specifics you're looking for, but I'd highly recommend the BackBeat.
thanks for the input guys
as far as the input sensitivity i was thinking about the ohms and decibal values that the headphones can push and what frequencies the phones are rated on producing
a friend at the office has the 903 backbeat and he was going to let me try them, i work in an office environment as well and think they might work, just need to hear them first. The only worry I have is I also want to take them to the gym with me and worry about that loopy in the back bouncing too much, which is why im also looking at the s9-hd headset but have no one to reference to try them out.

[Q] Increasing Bluetooth Volume on Nexus 5

Hi,
I have a rooted Nexus 5 that I use for music with bluetooth headphones. I've applied the headphone volume boost from XDA which has worked a treat for wired headphones, but I'm wondering whether it is possible to do a similar volume boost of the bluetooth audio output. Any ideas?
Thanks!

+1 I'm looking for the same thing. The max volume on Bluetooth speaker is always 10% softer than if you plug a wire into the aux input without Bluetooth. I wonder if there is a way to boost the volume so that it matches the volume attained from a direct aux wire.

I would try to see if there may be a Xposed module that may help or if you can use a compatible kernel with volume boost. Viper Audio may also help since raising the settings within equalizer to boost vocals/bass/etc if you'd like to try as well.
Are you going for hearing loss?
Did you ever find a solution to this?

I suffer from hearing loss (too many Metallica and Korn concerts back in the day) - because of this so-called handicap, I'm interested if there are any solutions or even alternative, suggested wireless earbuds that would accommodate my needs.
The earbuds I currently have are Plantronics Backbeat Go 2 - excessively low volume.

There is nothing that can be done. The volume for Bluetooth is not controlled via kernel as other sounds are. The limitation is hardware unfortunately.
I too have plantronics back beat go and they are very low. Other BT buds may be a little louder but don't expect miracles.
The only thing you can do is go wired. Sorry to break this to you.

Volume level with headphones too low?

I have had the z5 for about a month and i am happy with it. However I have found the volume with headphones too low. Most to the time, i have to double check to see if it can go louder.
To ensure it wasn't my headphones, I went to to an electronic store and tried all the top end headphones but just found it not loud enough.
Maybe i am going deaf but has anyone experienced similar results?
With high impedance headphones, it could be a problem... I'm using a pair of 32ohm earbuds and the volume level is pretty good (¾ is loud enough for me)
Indeed, the volume is very low with my 600ohm Beyerdynamic DT-880, but that's normal: These headphones are not meant to be used with a phone, they need proper amplification to sound their best.

Bluetooth Volume?

Hi All,
I have recently come back to the OP7P after using an XS Max. I have been using Airpods 2 with the iPhone and the volume on Bluetooth was superb. Most the time I listened with it a few steps from maximum.
Now with the Oneplus I'm currently using the Cambridge Audio Manomania as they had really good reviews but the volume is no where near. I've tried changing the absolute volume setting, flashed the booster in magisk and tried using AVCRP 1.6 but it's still really low.
Does anyone know any Bluetooth buds or USB c headphones that will at least deliver similar volume to the Airpods?
I recently purchased these Treblab earbuds and I am happy with them. They don't sound as deep as my Phaiser headphones but when the volume is raised on the Treblabs it's pretty crisp sounding and volume is pretty high. I want to add that I have never used the apple airpods though. I just downloaded one of the viper audio mods and I'm going to see how that interacts with the Treblabs.
Over all I'm loving them though..pretty loud and my work environment is noisy

I've Xs Max too & I'm using First Gen Airpods with 7 Pro & They get pretty loud , equivalent to iPhone. Only Thing I noticed is that maybe battery drains faster. I'm not rooted, everything is stock
Maybe I'll have to try airpods again just wasn't sure how well they would work.
Was thinking of powerbeats Pro as well but no way of testing them before hand
I got Amiron Wireless of Beyerdynamic and I am fine with them.

Pixel 4a - Headphone Jack Max Volume Inconsistent

Has anyone noticed the max volume out of their headphone jack is typically very quiet, but at times will top out at a normal max volume? I use an aux cable to hook into my car stereo and always have my phone set to 100% volume. My Note4 and Note8 both play at identical volumes with the same MP3 files, but my Pixel 4a is significantly quieter. With the windows down, I turn my car volume up to 11 (normally) which is quite loud. On the pixel? The car volume at 18 is ALMOST that loud, but at that point is overworking the amp and degrades the quality substantially.
Here's what's weird. At random times the Pixel max volume will actually be slightly LOUDER than that of my Notes, again with the same MP3 files. When this happens, if I unplug the aux cable and reattach it'll go back to being quiet. This issue is system wide and doesn't affect just one app. YouTube, VLC, etc. all suffer from this. Has anyone had this?
I noticed it too on my 4a today when I tested it. My Nexus 5 and Pixel 1 also both had that issue also. Sometimes unplugging and re-plugging "fixes" it temporarily.
A good simple fix is to get a USB-C -> 3.5mm headphone adapter. Best Buy sells the Google branded one for like $8 - $13 in-store. I dunno how good the other brands are, reviews seem mixed when I looked on Amazon awhile ago. With the USB-C headphone adapter you'll get consistent and considerably more volume than the headphone jack. I also think it sounds a bit cleaner, too. Not much else you can do aside from some sort of bluetooth -> AUX adapter.
I have noticed this exact issue on both my current Pixel 4a 5g and even my last phone which was the Zenfone 5z. It's almost like the phone will switch gain from high to low when plugging in headphones, but sometimes will fail to do so resulting in a higher level of volume and scratchy audio. I may follow advice above and try a USB C adapter. I have not found a fix in software for this issue. The only "resolution" is to replug the headphones in until you notice the output volume is lower/cleaner.
Yeah. I can agree with lower volume. But i have one more problem after plug jack. When in song coming to louder parts, my player stops. Theres no notificiation about ears damage or like that. After that i need to press play and then its quiter.
Someone have simillar ?
The headphone jack is not very powerful on this phone, it's something like 0.3v? You need to use a DAC or buy a phone with a better headphone jack... the gold standard has been LG (RIP) and even iPhones back when they used to have headphone jacks. Now it's Samsung but they seem to be dropping whatever ports they can too.
I don't know how about you, but think they finaly fix this issue with new update. Nowy my jack works fine. Someone can confirm ?
